  1. I really think you are all missing the point and concentrating too much on the air con and not the fact that the OP is exhibiting obvious signs of a sleeping disorder which may be affected by the aircon. I realised that I slept with my air con on all last night and didn't switch it off and use the fan like I usually do because it was a cooler night and the previous night the fan made me cold so. last night I used the air con alone set on 26 because I could adjust it without getting out of bed. Was comfortable all night temperature wise but woke up worse than I normally do. I usually wake up pretty rough but this morning had a bit of nausea so it seems that the air con can make a sleeping disorder worse.
  2. I had a similar problem flare up about 3 years ago, I was living in south east Queensland at the time and the weather was not as hot and extreme as Thailand. I went to my local Doctor convinced it was a reaction to my 3 covid vaccinations as the symptoms started not long after receiving my last vaxx. The Doctor told me I had a sleeping disorder. He told me my symptons all pointed to this. He gave me a referral to see a sleep specialist. I didn't end up seeing the specialist as I returned to live in Thailand but still continued to suffer the symptoms you have. I did some research and concluded that I was mouth breathing all night which was depriving my body of oxygen. As part of my research I found out I could tape my mouth shut with a small piece of surgical tape placed verticaly over my mouth but could still open my mouth a little in case of emergency. I could also break the tape seal easily by opening my mouth. This seemed to work as I was not waking up with a dry mouth but still had a few minor symptons. My sister uses a CPAP machine for sleeping as she has a diagnosed sleeping disorder and frequently stops breathing while sleeping so I bought one locally here in Thailand. It seemed to work the first time I used it but after that I found it impossible to sleep wearing it. I tried various masks but still could not get used to the thing so I ended up selling it and going back to the tape again. The tape system is far from satisfactory now and, this morning I awoke feeling the same as you described with an added layer of slight nausea so I'm not sure what my next step will be. I'm 70 and can't really be bothered trying to get this fixed. I do find that whenever I go on a holiday and sleep in a different environment I don't have the same problem but figure it would soon flare up if I stayed at the same place for a long period. I live in rural Surin. Hope this helps.
  3. My marriage visa extension expires on 19 November this year. I may have to leave the country at short notice in the upcoming few months. I have two questions. 1. What is the minimum amount of time left on my extension before I have to apply for a new one? For example, can I apply a few days before my current one expires on November 19? 2. If I need to apply for my new extension a minimum of, say, 2 weeks before it expires, can I leave the country while I am in the "under consideration" period? I will be using Surin Immigration and expect no problems with my marriage extension application as I am up to date with all the requirements.
  4. I missed it but it's still the same situation and you could probably take the same photo again with the same scene. FFS mate why would the Thai Government spend billions building flood mitigation projects all along the entire length of the Mekong. That's the root of our discussion so, please, leave me alone now, I'm tired from dancing in the rain as we finally got a little bit of rain in Surin Province today.
  5. Once again, have a look at the photo, most of the flooded area is not inhabitated and the few people living there are poor farmers not a lot anybody can do.
  6. Cities can be protected up to a point but the photo in the article shows acres of rural land and we both know how much rural land there is along the Mekong. Hell, they can't stop Bangkok and Ayuthya from flooding.
  7. I get your point mate but nobody can manage vast areas of low land with one of the biggest rivers in the world running through it during the monsoon season. The water has to go somewhere.
  8. Havea good look at the photo mate, no amount of infrastructure is going to stop that. Have you ever been up there, near the Mekong?
  9. That's nothing, they caught one with a bloke in its guts yesterday in North Queensland.
  10. I've had 2 PC builds from them and just recently bought a notepad for my son online, great service and products. My first PC build was done in early 2019 and is still going great.
  11. I'm not wrong, it is a requirement to report an alien staying at your establishment.
  12. The owner of any accomodation establishment is required by law to report a foreigner staying with them so the pink ID card would not work. I think.
  13. Come up here to Surin and you will soon change your opinion. Most beautiful Thai girls up here, and there are a lot, wouldn't give an ordinary Farang a second look.
  14. It's probably been covered before but I'm not trawling trough pages and pages of inane comments to try to find it so, my question is, if we pay the Tax what do we get in return? Thai prices at National Parks? Equal status to a Thai? Access to all things that Thais have that exclude Farangs? Equal rights as a Thai? I recently went to Kahao Yai with my family and I had to pay 400 baht, the wife 40 and the kids 20. I aked the lady at the booth if I will soon be paying Thai rates as I will soon be paying Tax here and she had a laugh and said "no". I then asked my wife to ask her if she was hearing this a lot from Farangs and she said nearly every Farang that comes through asks about that.
  15. Mate, first step would be to get the birth certificate translated to English then it is a process of applying for a Citizenship By Descent which will give your child Aussie citizenship. These days it is a long and drawn out process of proving your relationship with the mother, DNA samples and various other obstcales which could take many months. Then, after your child has Citizenship apply for a passport for him from Aus, also get them a Thai passport, once again the Aus PP can be a drawn out process OR apply for a tourist Visa for your wife and child to visit Aus and this could be the least costly and time consuming process but you will have a lot of questions to answer about yourrelationship, finances, where you will stay in Aus. You will have problems regarding the village wedding so would reccomend getting a Marriage Certificate and registering your marriage at the local District Office, this can be a lengthy process as well because you will need proof that you asingle a not currently married to anyone esle and this is done through visiting a couple of Government departments in Bangkok. There are so many things that you need to do and time consuming too. You will end up very frustrated.
  16. I had the exact same problem a few days ago, I fixed it through the sound settings. Looks like something changed things in there.
  17. When I first came to Thailand in 2004 I noticed that most of the road users used their horns to let people know they were there in a friendly way. I even remarked to friends back home about how the Thais correctly use the horn as a warning of their presence. At the time I was a Policeman and had had a few dealings with cases of road rage in my home country, Australia. Mind you there were a lot less cars on Thai roads back then as hardly any poor Thais could afford to own a car. Then came the Government incentives to buy a car and, suddenly the roads became choked and manners flew out the door.
  18. I received what appears to be the same scam via sms. The sms told me a parcel could not be delivered due to problams with the address and to open the URL in the message to rectify the problem by updating my address which I did with the help of my wife as the webpage was in Thai, after updating the address I was infromed that I would have to pay 10.50 baht for the change to be made and to provide credit/debit card details to pay, that's when my scam alert kicked in and I closed the page. It looked legit because the sms was in English but the Thai Post webpage was in Thai which made me think it was legit as the scammers would want you to believe that too, the problem with the webpage that it had a settings button and a drop down menu button but neither worked.
  19. Me too, I haven't a clue about what he's saying CS? Russia, Lithuania? Wise is now a recognised Bank in Australia.
  20. I only watch shows or movies with sub titles now as can't understand most of what they say.
  21. Judging by the number of teenage mothers walking around carrying babies at my local market here in rural Surin yesterday there is no problem, getting the them to work could be a problem though, when they grow up.
