  1. I have similar clips on the front disc brakes of my Mitsu Expander. The main difference is that mine are made of thin wire and look like they could be pulled out by anyone who so desired. They look a bit like circlips.
  2. I just tried to use the SRT online booking system to buy a ticket to Bangkok on the overnight sleeper. As expected, things did not go smoothly. After having a hard time logging in, the system seems to remember me from a few years back even though my passport number has changed, I managed to login after a password reset. I entered my origin, Surin, then my destination, Bangkok from the drop down menu, tried to enter my day of travel from a drop down calendar but when I clicked on my date, nothing happened. I tried a few different dates and still nothing. I then put my cursor on the date I wanted and found that I had to place it in the very bottom left corner of the day I wanted, not in the middle, not far right but that exact spot and it worked. So, date and destination done, click on next, nothing happens. Tried a few things and still could not get it to work so I rang the hotline expecting no joy from them. Surprisingly, I spoke to a lady who spoke excellent English and she told me that the destination is wrong for Bangkok, even though it is still in the drop down menu, I had to search for Krung Thep Aphiwat which is the new station. I found it in the drop down menu and completed that page and went to the payment page, clicked on Pay by Card and no response, tried a few times and gave up, clicked on Pay at Station and got a code to quote at the station when I go to pay within a certain time. The price of a ticket has also gone up substantially, my last trip cost about 600 baht and it is now about 870 baht.
  3. Thanks, briefly what are the financial requirements? I am aware of the requirements for an extension, ie, 800,000 baht in bank seasoned for 2 or 3 months and the 60,000 baht per month rule.
  4. Hi DJ, I didn't know that you could apply for a Non O Retirement Visa while in Thailand? I thought you could only do it from another country. So, why are foreigners, already in this country, going to Savanakhet to get a Visa. I'll admit, I'm a little confused by it all.
  5. Her husband probably was trying to get her to a hospital. In Surin we have hundreds of Cambodians arriving at our local hospital by mini bus as they can't get treated in Cambodia.
  6. I now remember seeing elasticemail as part of one of the blank page address's. I don't know what it is though and, yes, how safe is it?
  7. I reinstalled Nord VPN and, without connecting to another country tried to open an item in the newsletter and it would not open, I then used Nord to connect to another country and the news item would not open. I then turned off Threat Protection in Nord and I was able to open the news item. It seems my threat protection did not like Asean Now links in the newsletter but would allow me to connect to the Asean Now Forum website and open topics there! Go figure.
  8. Thanks for the reply George. It magically fixed itself overnight for some reason! I am using a desktop and Chrome but it also occurred using Edge. I think it may have been my Nord VPN that was the problem, even though I have been using Nord for years and never had the problem before, I also was not using Nord when the problem was happening as in connected to another country. I believe a setting in Nord may have been the problem as I uninstalled Nord and the problem was solved. Trouble is, I use Nord a lot and want to reinstall it. I really don't understand some of the lingo and settings in Nord though, I just know how to connect to another country and the basic settings.
  9. I have been receiving the newsletter for a few years now and have no problems until now with opening a news item in the email. Now I just get a blank page that has about:blank in the address bar that morphs into https://1780m.trk.elasticemail.com/tracking/click?d=2QvNwWRRTgDHYQgr_IEH6wcc1x3L-lzxNOPG-3QIPnkbpa5mhcPS3TPPQGBPkD4SEOFxOwNm-s_nX6kwcdXcOPKEOqvzehyhleuHL38QmZ_4unTwziWizFlOHoLOno1szpzT10S9KOLOLJaYSZcta1btjj8h2-Zw5i3haCoaDlsY2t86BsrtQj6R5dX-qMe94w2 if I leave the blank page open then come back to it a few seconds later from another Tab. Help please.
  10. I'm in a similar situation. I'm about half way through my retirement extension but I am moving to a different province. My next 90 day report will be from the different province. Do I report my new address to the original immigration office or to the office in my new province? What do I need to do now that I'm living in a different province with regard to my extension?
  11. Sambuk or Samba or something similar, it's like Tiger Balm, buy it from 7/11, it's in a small green and white tin container, Thais use it for insect bites.
  12. @ubonjoehere's the link https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/non-immigrant-visa-category-o/
  13. Ooops, sorry Joe, I meant the Royal Thai Embassy website and I printed out the application, filled it in and sent it off in the post to Canberra with all the other necessary paperwork including a money order for $300. I did this in April this year.
  14. Mate, you apply for the Visa through the Thai embassy in Canberra. All the information and forms are on the Thai Immigration website. You send your application to the Embassy by Aussie Post. You will need proof of some funds in a Thai bank account, your wife will have to write a cover letter. I sent a copy of a statement I downloaded from my Thai Bank's internet website. I also applied for the 12 month multi entry Non O visa which costs $300, I was granted this visa.
  15. I use Kasikorn and have been for abut 10 years, I've been using Wise for about 8 years and none of my deposits from wise show up as International Transfer in my Bank Book. The code is usually TRN and Teller No. of MCL00004 or MCL00003. My latest transfer on Nov 1 came up as TRN and GPS00005. I'm getting money from Australia. On my statement the latest transfer I did on Nov 1 comes up as Trade Finance Deposit and GPS00005.

  17. Nakonchai Air run a bus service from Buriram to CM. Buriram has an airport as well and daily flights to and from Bangkok, not sure if there is a direct flight Buriram to CM. Nok Air and Air Asia run them.
  18. I've done a bit of research and it's FREE to people over 70.
  19. I didn't know that over 70's can use the Fast Track Lane. Thanks for the tip as I'm fast approaching that dreaded number.
  20. Love to hear about him, I wondered how he was going. Spoke to him once in the lift at VT6 and he was happy to chat. Life would be pretty dull without blokes like him.
  21. I just realised that, if I extended by 60 days, I would have to get a re-entry permit to do my border run? It might be a lot easier just to do border runs every 90 days, say 2 land border and one by air which would take me up to when my Visa expires. Land crossings are easy for me as I'm close to a checkpoint.
