Any clue what hard water does with growing rice? Maybe that is the reason why he said about first in pond and then from there to the plants?

Jack all nothing. Our wells are in the same water table as our ponds at 4 meters and the wife has a major contract backed by the DOA and TOPS market selling her produce. Locals are blowing smoke.

Afaik as I know it's NOT salty but just HARD water. (So it contains a lot of minerals)

And I have no idea, this is what I have been told to do and that's why I am asking here for advice

Our well water is also hard ( NO salt) and it is used for irrigation with no side effects. The water is not pump into the pond,

Interesting, but must be Cambodian business people stocking up for sale back home. Cross-border trade is allowed, as with all the lorries still crossing at Poi-Pet, but NO TOURISTS or EX-PATS (visa runs) as Tourist Visas ("e" type or port of entry) are NOT BEING ISSUED by Cambodian Immigration. Cambodia's border with Vietnam is now open but people must get another type of visa (business, ordinary etc.) as Tourist visas are not being issued to enter from Vietnam. Strict health regulations must be observed.

Theses are  Cambodians that are being allowed to use Ruampaet Hospital in Surin most if not all are out of Oddar Meancheay Province of Cambodia. That province and Surin has a very long blood tie. The Governors of these two province were able to get the OK from BK to let them back in for medical care. BTW that hospital is not cheap as it is private. These people drive brand new trucks and cars. They load up the vehicle with family and after being checked in both O'Smach then Chong Chom off they go 70km up the 214 highway to the hospital THEN to load up at Big C and Makro. They will not shop at Tesco or Robison. BTW Thai or foreigner can not cross over. I live in Kap Choeng and very aware of what goes on. Even before the Corona Beer Flu we refused to go to Surin on a weekend due to the stamped of the Khmer hauling A-s-s up the highway and noway were you getting a parking spot at Big C. Could say a few more thing but need to keep it civil.???? Also residence of these two province only have to present their ID card to pass over but only can stay in the joining province for 3 days. Needles to say the local farangs are not happy.????

I really do not think the Thai government let alone the Prime Minister personallg has authorized this but if you have any links to that effect pkease post. The info we are getting from both Thai Embassy and local immigration is that medical visas are not being issued and cannot come.

This is also what has been said in the media.

Surin area has a long history  of bending the rules for border crossing. I still think what you are seeing is a purely local arrangement. Would be interested to know what if anything gets stamped into their passports when entering Thailand.

Good to know! But I think not official policy. Must be a lical "arrangement".

I have a handicapped Khmer friend scheduled for long awaited aurgery in Bangkok in August and very worried she won't be able to get in.

Its official as the PM OK it for medical reasons. Checking on both side of crossing on health. They pack up their auto and bring the whole family. BTW NO Thais or others may cross the other way. There was an article or two on TV

IF you're living outside of the US and are able to successfully change your address to a US address and avoid receiving the Form 7162, you, most likely, may NOT avoid receiving summons to appear for jury duty. If that happens, what reason/s can you give to be excused from performing your jury duty?  And again IF you're able to get an excuse ONCE, that doesn't mean you are excused forever.  I would like to get someone's "two cents" on this.

Many years back when I was working and living in Saudi Arabia I used a good friends address in Carson City Nevada for dl and voting. We were talking and he told me he had some mail for me and one was a jury duty summons, I had him mail all to me (8000 miles) back then mail did make. When I received the summons the report date was still some two weeks off, Grand Jury Duty Reno Nevada. They did pay your milage when serving soooooo I mailed the summons back with a note asking if they would pay my milage from Saudi Arabia. The return letter did have a Saudi post mark. Never heard from them.

Zee boss took me for a look see at a Farmers Market in Tops Surin this afternoon. I was goob smack by what I saw. I counted over 20 display stalls and a very large fresh cooked food both with local talent. The market area is just inside and takes up at least 75% of the produce area. All produce and fruit are advertised as chemical free and by what I saw majority of it comes from Surin. I only saw two other farangs in the store but about 50 Thais most about the FM side. To me it looks like Tops have hit a grand slam.
