  1. I guess this is still running as people are still trying to work out the reason there was such concern by the OP over this Wai topic, to me still down to you, you want to do cool do it, you think your better position in society gives you the right not to then don't do it, either way the majority of Thais will not care either way or worry about it in any way shape or form, up to you !!!!

  2. Hello all, I have been looking through the prices for properties in Hua Hin for sometime and it seams that HH is very expensive to buy property but it also appears that there is lots out there with not much selling, is that because the prices are too high or there is just to much of it ?? Not moaning or wishing to cause offence but just interested in thoughts.

  3. Hi, If you have a real and genuine concern regards the scanners I suggest you contact the airlines and ask them to assist you in your concerns about having a body scan, I am sure once they understand your concerns they will be able to support you. Perhaps they will provide you with a document to give to officials that explain your predicament. Hope this idea help your awkward situation.

    Booked with benz travel

  6. Not sure what index you talk of. I used to see regular posts about the cost of living in Thailand. Not many any more. That is why I ask is there any up to date information ?

Thank you to those that have answered. If there is a link to a previous thread please let me know

We are a family of three, me British, wife Thai, Iysha 9.

    We all eat Thai food,

We do things as a family, I do not really enjoy the bar scene

I love fishing, daughter dancing swimming and singing, wife likes hair being done and eating Somtam

I expect to pay for school for my daughter

Would like 3 bed house either rent or purchase - with pool own or communal ( probably rent )

Will buy a vehicle of some type, probably new with warranty ect

    Any help would be great

  7. This topic - please where possible only post a reply if it equates to my question, please do not post random remarks against the topic I am making here.

I will be moving to Thailand at some point and I am interested in the following

Starting a business in a couple of areas, I am skilled at certain things and not others so therefore I will be looking for someone to partner me in a venture.

As CM will be the part of Thailand I am hoping to set up my home I hope over the months to start building some relationships with like minded people in CM that are interested in business and business networking. I am open to offers I have a few ideas of my own.

If your interested please PM me, I will in turn tell you a little more about me and what I have to offer.

Again please if possible do not post reply’s that do not equate to the topic, no reply’s are actually needed to this so if you could PM me that would be great.

    Thank you

  8. I am looking at the problems I might experience with getting accident and healthcare insurance when we move to Thailand, I have complicated illness calleed Neurofibromatosis, I fully understand that there is not chance getting the pre existing illness covered but what are the chances of this causing any other problems with obtaining cover, my main worry would be accident cover, any help / advice would be good, thank you

  9. My general thought when I started this poll was to gather information what has worked in the past and now, I think good food will work anywhere be it Thai or European. I also strongly believe that all good businesses will run well if your selling a good product to the right consumer the key is the quality of the product again cost and demand. Competition is not problem as long as your better than the competition. Thank you for all the helpful posts and those of you that take the time to vote.

  10. If you wish to offer a polite gesture what right does anyone have to to judge if this is or is not acceptable,

What an odd thread, to do or not to do, up to you, if I see someone trying to be part of culture and offer a polite gesture it pleases me, I see so many non Thai people walking around Thailand with a face like thunder and looking like they own the place, also with an attitude that indicates they think they are above most people they meet and that all Thai's that offer service in anywhere like restaurants, shops and markets are second class to to them

  11. We live here in the Uk and over the last few years I have noticed a few things that shock surprise and disappoint me, they are as follows

Family have new child, this newborn is of course loved but at six months old is packed off to nursery to people they don't know, the parents rich or poor as it may be, the family miss the following

    First words

    First crawl

    Bonding

    First giggles

Learning how to generally take care of the needs of the child

    And lots more

Family has an older relative, relative packed off to nursing home as soon as they start to become demanding on the family, the following happens

Old person misses family and ages 10 years

Old person feel lonely and let down

    Old person feel confused

Old person misses lots of family events and family does not have time to collect them for family visits

Children learn this as an acceptable way of life

Family has easy life not having to worry about caring for old person

Nursing home owners get rich treating old people as an income and so the circle will start again

I am not wishing to start a battle here but making an observation, is it like this in Thailand, personally I do not want to work hard all my life to be put into a nursing home when I get a bit doddery.

    Thoughts please

  12. These thugs and their supporters are completely irrational at this time. If they don't cool down quickly there must be an iron fist to stop this until they can regain their brain cells. In the meantime the gov't must figure out how to stop Thaksin paying them to destroy the country.

Good shout, I feel that about 75% of these people have nothing to loose and will fight to the end so force is need in some way to get this done.
