Anyone know what the situation is in the airport, are there lots of people waiting and is anything moving to Europe ???
-
Travelling with wife and 8 year old child.
Any thoughts on where is best to wait, we were due to travel to UK today the flight is postponed due to volcano in Iceland, as requested we called the airline they suggested we were to call again tomorrow and find out what has happened, we are in Hua Hin and I am wondering if it might be better to wait in Bangkok closer to the airport ?? The airline say they will keep us informed and we can call daily or as often as we like and tell us there is no point in going to the airport,
Views would be great please.

Hey, HH is great I find the majority of people happy and polite, I guess if you don't like it in Hua Hin first don't worry your self about it and second don't think you will be to badly missed, good luck in BK. At some point you could give HH a second chance, up to you !!!!

Help please, we will be in Soi Nana on the 27th and need to be at the new airport for 6pm to go to airport to Koh Samui, any advise on the best way to do this, would we be better to stay at Airport on 26th to be closer ready for the evening flight. If Airport a better option then please advise a good one to stay in with pool would be good.

I think for people to answer you might need to give a little more info on your situation, there are lots of options in this forum on schools but the general feeling as far as I have found out depend on ages of kids expectations, money ect.
I have made lots of posts over the years on this please search my posts and you will see them.
You must try to pick out of the answers you get not only what you want to hear but where the real honest warnings are.
It is something I have wanted todo for years but never had the bottle because of the advise I have asked for and been given on Thai visa for now I have decided my daughter is best to be schooled here in UK and in turn grow up here.

Inevitably we will move to Thailand with my daughter and wife from the UK, trying to stick it out but just as soon there is a chance I will find it hard to not at least try life in Thailand.
I am very interested to heard from any of you guys out there that have already done it and brought up children in Thailand that are now older, how did they get on, what do they do now, how do they feel about the decision you made for them, how was school and level of education, on reflection do you think your home country might have been better.
Simple answers are great but more info would be fantastic if possible, pm if you would rather and secondly if you have time
Thank you so much, if your read my previous posts you will see how much this topic means to me.

Is there any way we fooodies could have an online cooking comp, our own ideas not a copy of the usual dishes but a fusion of a couple or a derivative of one, not sure how it could happen or if possible,
Any ideas, I have some mean recipes in my head waiting to get out there
Maybe a Thai recipe page in the forum or even in this section or a sub section,
Could have a poll to see who's is the best

Hello, This arrangment/wedding/traditional ceremony can be as simple as you wish, simple for us
Discuss with your partner what you feel is an acceptable budget
Ask her to explain what she feels about what she want from the day and who she feel might attend
Sit back and let the family deal with it
We made a small amount of money go a long way and had lots of fun
Hang over cure is a good bet, and enjoy.
It will only go out of control if you do not know what to expect or you do not have a clear idea of what will happen and what your and your wife agree is acceptable.
$1000 will do it with out any skimping, you may have more or less but any way will be great

Is this a Visa or Mastercard branded debit card? If so the email back and request that a supervisor look at the booking. I've processed hundreds of customers through R24 and I've never seen this.
The card is visa debit, used to be maestro, I have used it to pay the same company in Koh Samui so not sure why one can do it but the other cant ???????
I have emailed them and suggested they talk to Koh Samui office to ask how they processed they card ??

This is not a moan up a request for help as I do not seem to be getting anywhere
I have two bookings through the above agent, I have booked before with no trouble, but this time I am having a big problem
Booked Koh Samui paid deposit no problem
Booked Hua Hin they can not take my payment as they tell me tey have a different machine, they suggest I pay by credit card which I do not want to do, I want to pay with the same card as I did just a few days ago using my visa debit highline card ???
I have checked with my bank and there is no problem with my card
Help please

Visiting Samui in March, not sure where to stay, Lamai or Chewang, Is there much distance between them, if so how much in a taxi ? want the option of night life without missing the beaches of Chewang or are the Lamai beaches as good ??, any thoughts on this would be good. Was looking at staying in Tango Beach Resort. Help and info would be good. Comming with my cousin who has never visited Thailand so he is very much looking forward to a mix of all the things Samui has to offer.

I moved here and found a wife here (Thai) and now have a family, the situation isn't identical but obviously there are many similarities.
I would say that Private Education here is quite good, a lot of the answers you are looking for would depend on where you were looking at in Thailand (Chiang Mai, Phuket, Bangkok etc...) and the ages of yourself and the children. Also would you be working or retiring?
Regards
Ben
Ben,
We haven’t decided for sure yet, but think we might live in or near Hua Hin. I will not work in Thailand but will travel to the Uk every- weeks for a couple of weeks for work commitments as I have a business here, that I am hoping will run in my absence with careful management.
Iysha is 7 years old now and enjoys scool.

I can only imagine, based on my many visits to Thailand, I would no doubt get to dislike the smell of the dried fish section of the markets, at the moment it is a mild amusement of how something could smell quite so bad but seem perfectly acceptable to buy it and create various culinary delights with it.

Hi Chris
I always use westeasttravel.com, they are for me the cheapest, my wife went out with my daughter in the middle of school hols for £300.00 each inc tax with Gulf Air, she said they were good even though there is a short stop in Bahrain.
October is cheap, November a bit more because of the Festival time, Christmas the moment is crazy price, normally come down towards Christmas but in my experience not guaranteed
One search I done on west east travel is below, might be worth having a play about with it for a few days with dates ect. Hope this helps

Good luck, I am still holding out for a cheap one for Christmas, not sure we will get one but I am still trying and searching each day for a deal, did not think we would get out there in the school hols for the price we did so who knows.
Westeast Travel normally add new fares at the end of the month so keep you eye’s peeled for the deals they go fast
Let me know how you get on
