  1. I feel safer anywhere in Los than I do anywhere in UK, and I don't carry weapons in the UK.

Get a good Bhudda around your neck (this must be given by a Thai) and that should protect you more than any weapon would. Mine is especially good for protection against knive wounds, it's from a temple in North Bangkok, Leung Bour bin (or something like that) is the top monks name, he'll  give you a bamboo tattoo of a Tiger that will give you more protection if you so desire!

I was given this Bhudda amulet by a friend in Bkk and then proceeded to find out more about it during my travels. fascinating.

Some places I went Thai's I didn''t even know were coming to me and asking to see my Bhudda. All said 'ahh very goooood, very lucky' upon seeing it!

I am very grateful to my friend for giving it to me!

It was also good for detecting katoey's :-)

...so you found what you were looking for then..... :o

    Bhuddism or Katoey's?

    Bhuddism, maybe.

Katoey's, not my cup of tea, it stopped them from finding me!

    ;-)

We`ll take your word for it... :D

  2. Wisetsingh, 38, says he shot Adam, of Torquay, Devon, in self-defence and Vanessa, of Ashburton, Devon, “got in the way of the bullets”.

From the Sun...and her bullets were fired from point-blank range.

This can only happen in Thailand !

(Toastie - i'm not really a volunteer Policewoman, but if you want to bribe me, you still can ! )

We gathered that you are having a fantasy about being a volunteer police woman...I think it was your deep voice that gave you away dear!!! :o

  4. There's a lot more to do around Pattaya than just beer bars, a-go-gos and massage parlours (not that there's anything wrong with those places !)

For example, Khao Keow zoo. OK, it's a little out of Pattaya, but makes a nice day trip.

For something different to do one day, I suggested to my landlady that we take all the munchkins from our building to the zoo. We decided we would go the following Sunday, departing at 09:00.

I forgot about "Thai" time of course, and we ended up leaving at 10:30. Little did I know that our little excursion would end up with 13 people in the car (7 adults and 6 ankle biters).

OK, so it's a little crowded, but bearable. I had already agreed to foot the cost of the trip and went prepared. Just before we got to the entrance to the zoo, a mad scramble broke out in the back. The 4 smallest rug rats disappeared ! This meant I only had to pay for the admission of 9 people, as the park staff didn't see the wee-uns hiding under the legs of the SIX people in the back seat.

The zoo itself is very large, to big to walk all the way around. Park the car and take one of the trolley buses. Later, back to the car and drive to a different part of the zoo and do some walking.

Not only were there lots of critters to gawk at, but they also had a bird show, and a troupe of performers from Africa putting on an exhibition. We almost lost one of the girls when the crowd poured out of the bird show. Funny how I seemed to be the only one concerned. Eventually we split up and went to find her. When she couldn't find us, she made her own way back to the car and was waiting for us. Not bad for an 8 year old.

When we finally got home, I totaled up the expenses for the day. It worked out to about 3,000 baht for everything (including gas for our "borrowed" car, and various sodas and ice creams at the park) ! Far less than I thought I would end up forking out. Turned out to be about  a third of what I ended up paying at Nong Nooch the following week, with only 9 people in total.

I think u need a good :o dowm soi yodsak!

And yet another guy plugging the Victoria Inn.. :D:D

A fee of 3000 baht will be payable by him with a further fee of 2000 baht upon deliverence of the decision as to whether a major investigation into the deaths is to be launched.

The decision will be given in person to him when he arrives 2 days later at the appointed time of 9.00 a.m. (no allowance will be made for expenses during this decision period).

The decision will be full and final with no leave to appeal, although a box of tissues will be available to wipe away any stress which may be caused. :o

  6. Thai cosmetic surgeons are world famous and well qualified particularly within the area of Penile re-attachment (i dont knoo whyyy :o )so would have no doubt that you nose will be in safe hands.

...it`s no wonder that you`re banging yer head on the joanna... :D

  7. It is that time of year when I restock on T-shirts. I just like to go in and point to a dozen shirts, maximum irritation time being say five minutes.

That is why I never take the Mrs with me.

Anyone have any recommendations on the best places to go at the moment to buy decent quality T-shirts at a reasonable price?

As I do not bother checking this sort of thing unless I have a need to, I may well be out of touch. Is Candy’s still operating, still worth going to and if so is it still in the same place?

Alternative places would be good to know of too.

    Thanks.

Try Mike`s Shopping Mall. They usually have sales somewhere in the store..

  8. ....Rumour has it that even toy poodles perched precariously on motorcycle handlebars will in future be subject to being fined if not wearing a helmet.

A spokesman for the local Harley Poodle Club said that he thought the decision was a bit RUFF! :o

  9. Like I said you bunch of tight arsed old gits..

You know Fourbaht with an avatar like yours you really should be careful who you are calling tight.....I mean if you are all you think that you are cracked up to be i.e a carefree couldn`t care less spendthrift...then you should really change your avatar to NEUN-PHAN Baht...then you will really make an impression.

...Just my Four Bahts worth.. :o

  10. I think we are digressing.

Richie did not deserve to be iced - but something along the de-cobbling lines on page 3 would have been poetic justice - possibly too elegant for a coarse Thai knife-man.

Yet for a roving eye, severing his testicles ('ex-ticles'?) would be far too severe. A punch on the hooter would suffice.

Was he caught rogering the cabbie's girl? In flagrante delicto.

Well we can`t summise that he was caught in the act of doing anything...poor guy was said to have been murdered through jealousy.....maybe it was just an excuse put forward by the Thai to cover up a real motive....no doubt time will tell..

  11. Russian shoplifter steals 10,000 baht worth of goods

    news465-march2005.jpg

He told the police that the lifted items came from several stores

At 9 in the evening on March 7, Police Major Chaiyaporn Tongnapiang, inquiry inspector received a call from a security officer working at Royal Garden Plaza to inform him that a Russian man, accused of shoplifting, had been apprehended. The police major went to the store and met with Sergey Lranov, 40, who gave a full confession. In his bag were five t-shirts, one pair of jeans, one belt, and a ladies shoulder bag. Total value of the goods was estimated to be around 10,000 baht.

He was taken to the stationhouse for further questioning. Sergey told the police major that the stuff came from several stores and when no one was looking he placed the articles in his bag. Why he never considered the possibility of CCTV equipment being in operation was not asked.

He was charged with shoplifting and placed behind bars until his court appearance the next day.

By the state of him I can see why he needed the tee-shirts...even the jeans and the belt....but the ladies shoulder bag?? Hey! Ho! :o

  12. Man claims he is a Police Officer and member of the Royal Guard so he can drink and eat for free in North Pattaya Pub

Police Major Sutum, from Pattaya’s Crime Supression Unit assembled a team and went to the Gumbun Pub in Soi 2 off of Pattaya Second Road to investigate a man who was claiming that he was a high ranking Police officer and royal bodyguard and the pub must supply him with free food and drink. A waitress pointed out the man to Police when they arrived leading to his apprehension. The suspect, Khun Supashai aged 26 who works as a driver for a local company was searched and was in possession of two fake guns which were in fact cigarette lighters. Even at this point he continued to claim he was a royal bodyguard and must be treated with respect by the officers. He did not possess any forks of Police ID apart from a home-made business card containing his name and position of bodyguard to the Royal Family. He was taken back to the stationhouse and eventually confessed to deceiving staff at the pub in order to drink and eat for free and was charged with impersonating a police officer and member of the royal guard which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or even death.

    -Pattaya City News

Another one who reckons he`s a bodyguard...probably a mate of our diplomatic TPV MR not so Bright....complete with dangerous hip firing Zippos. :o
