  1. These topics should NOT have been merged. Too totally separate transport systems. There is NO relation whatsoever to the baht buses and the trucks that are stationed at some markets like Tesco. Silly!

Both topics were discussing various taxi fares for various vehicles and similar posts were made in each thread that is why they were merged. This topic title has now been ammended slightly to include baht buses.

  2. Flaming of fellow members is against the forum rules and we have a few posters here who are flaming each other and posting inappropriate remarks.

Please try to conduct your posts in a civilised and calm manner otherwise offending posters will have their posting rights suspended.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

  3. Firstly it is against the forum rules to post in this forum in a language other than English so the two sentences which the OP states have already been deemed to be offensive have been removed.

Secondly as the basis of your topic has been removed then there is little point in continuing this excecise.

    Topic closed.

  4. Pattaya Properties Co., Ltd.

    315/170-171 Thappraya Road

    Jomtien Beach, Nongprue, Banglamung

    Chonburi 20260, Thailand

The above is the address of the office in question.

Unconfirmed rumour and speculation as to the legal and business position of this company is not what thaivisa.com is about and already one post has been deleted.

So the best course of action is to close this thread before it gets out of hand.

  5. The stall in big C is run by sour-faced women who have no idea about service. I gave them a job last week for glossy business cards and they gave me something printed on patterned card; looked dreadful. When I queried what they had done, they just said they had run out of the usual paper; as if that was an acceptable excuse. Admittedly they didn't argue too long about giving me back my money!

I then went to the Big Banner Company and they did a much better job for less than half the cost. Recommended, although ignore the map on their business card webpage, it is out of date. Use the map on the Contact Us page.

very intersting, I get my cards for years from that shop in Big C and always found them fast, friendly and professional!

Big Banner is also a good advise, they did my shop sign. Wasn't aware that they also do business cards...

Never had a problem there either. In September I ordered 200 cards with `Old English` black script on a nice patterned silk finish card for 500 baht. At the same time I ordered 200 other cards (maroon on white) again on a silk finish card. perfect job same price.

  6. Does anyone know of a maker of business cards that are good, quick and inexpensive.

I would prefer someone who speaks English because it is for a large number of cards for various people and the contract will be ongoing.

It needs to be in Pattaya.

    Thanks

There is a unit located upstairs in Big C (2nd road north Pattaya). I have used them many times. Good English and not expensive.

  7. English Teacher attacked after he refused to hand over valuables to three Thai Men in Central Pattaya

He was admitted in a dazed state and claimed he was set-upon by three Thai Men who attempted to steal items of value from him as he walked along the street near the Xzyte Discotheque in Central Pattaya. 8. Portuguese Man caught stealing Camera from Hotel Room of English Tourist.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Sutat Court Apartments in Soi Beokeow on Monday Afternoon to investigate a theft from one of the rooms. The suspected thief, Mr. Manual Amando Corrcia aged 38 from Portugal was caught as he attempted to run from the area. He had allegedly taken a Fujifilm Digital Camera from room number 216 which was occupied by Mr. John from England. He was out at the time and instructed reception to clean his room while he was out. The cleaner, Khun Pisamai aged 27 was in the process of cleaning the room when the suspect entered the room and took the camera. She challenged the man who then ran away. He was taken to Pattaya Police Station accompanied by Mr. John who confirmed he did not know the suspect and that the camera was his. Mr. Corrcia is a repeat offender and is currently on bail pending further cases of theft. He is also suspected of involvement in narcotics which is thought to be the reason behind him conducting the thefts. It is thought he would use the proceeds from the thefts to purchase the drugs. For now, Mr. Corrcia remains behind bars pending further enquiries.

  9. As I see several shooting ranges in Pattyaya I was wondering what the gun laws are here in Thailand and where even to buy a gun?? meaning a solid gun not one of those self made things on the corner of every street, talking like a 9mm baretta or something?

Thailand prohibits possessing firearms, ammunition or explosives without a license. There are occasions where licences are issued in exceptional circumstances.

If you're caught with a gun and no license, you may get a large fine and be stuck in a jail cell for one to 10 years. It gets worse. If you have a firearm that isn't legal even with a license, offenders can be sentenced to life imprisonment or capital punishment, i.e. death.

As the OP`s request could be construed as leading to an illegal act then discussion of illegal activities is not permitted on thaivisa.com and so this topic is closed.

  10. Has anyone else seen a red indian walking around Pattaya? Yesterday I passed a guy walking along Thrappaya road dressed up like an Indian Squaw, complete with a turquoise headband. I could be mistaken but I think he was wearing full make up too.

Maybe he was looking for Soi Cowboy. :D

  11. Thailand may face electricity shortage in future

PATTAYA, Nov 4 (TNA) - Protests at the planned construction sites of several new electrical power generating plants in Thailand may cause the country to experience an electricity shortage as the demand the power is rising 1,400-1,600 MW annually, said outgoing Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) governor Kraisri Karnasutra on Sunday.

Mr. Kraisri, who will retire from his post on November 12, said at his farewell party that Thailand will encounter an electricity shortage without added generation plants being built.

Thailand has agreed to buy 7,000 MW of electricity from Laos and also has agreed in principle buying power from Cambodia, Myanmar, China and Malaysia.

However, Mr. Kraisri said the purchase agreements could stall if there is an international dispute between Thailand and the contracted countries. Most importantly, new employment will not be seen if construction of a new electricity plant does not proceed due to protests, while Thailand will have to pay money to its neighbouring countries nonetheless.

Construction of electricity plants in remote areas also causes loss of electricity, he said, due to losses encountered in long distance power transmission.

"Presently, coal, nuclear and natural gas-powered electricity plants are considered clean fuel, Mr. Kraisri said, "And the Energy Ministry has established a special fund to develop the areas around electricity plants.

"These areas will gain while the public will have sufficient electricity for use."

  13. It looks on face value that these new taxis will be run by the same organisation who runs the baht buses. I must say that if this is so then it is a brilliant move by the cooperative (from a business point of view).

They will not only be able to control the number and use of the baht buses but also the green and yellow taxis as well and thus keep the independant taxi meter owners (green and yellow in Bangkok) out of Pattaya.

It will be very interesting to get some comments from users of the new taxis including prices, ease of obtaining a vehicle and whether the meters if fitted actually work and are operated by the drivers.

  14. 1 Billion Baht Drugs Operation discovered by Police. English Man and his Thai Wife arrested.

A press conference was held at Pattaya Police Station led by Police Colonel Sutin, the Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station to announce the arrest of an English man and his Thai Wife and the seizure of 5,600 Ecstasy Tablets and Chemicals used to manufacture such drugs. The arrest took place at house number 403/67at the Jomtien Palace Housing Estate based on search warrant number 543/2550 dated 31st October 2007. Following a three 3 month operation, Police collated sufficient evidence to conduct a raid on the 20 Million Baht luxury house. They believed that the location was being used to produce the tablets and drugs which were being sold from the location. During the search, which was monitored by the house owner, Mr. Marcus James aged 48 from Lewisham in England and his Thai Wife, Khun Naringrat aged 32, the tablets were found in various locations around the house. Chemicals including Sodium Hydroxide which are commonly used to produce narcotics were also found. Items thought to have been purchased or accumulated as a result of the income generated from the sale of the drugs including a Bronze Honda CRV, three gold bracelets, 11 Bank Books indicating balances totaling around 10 Million Baht, a Harley Davison Motorbike, a Yamaha scooter and 204,500 Baht in cash were also taken into evidence. Police believe the tablets may have been produced in a second location as the machine used to press the tablets could not be found. According to the suspects, the tablets would be sold to customers in Europe and foreigners and Thai’s residing in Pattaya and many were due to be sold on Halloween Night. The entire operation is thought to be worth over 1 Billion Baht and the investigation is continuing as Police are determined to bring everyone involved in this case to justice.

  15. Drunken Korean collides with parked vehicles in South Pattaya crash.

Police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Workers were called to the South Pattaya Road just before Dawn on Tuesday to deal with a road accident involving a foreign national. At the scene, rescue workers attended to Miss Mae Yong aged 32 and Miss Han Long Koon aged 31, both from South Korea. Both were inside a Silver Honda Civic which collided with a number of parked cars. Miss Koon was the driver and Police immediately suspected both the driver and passenger were intoxicated. Due to communication problems, Police could not question the two women at the scene, however witnesses mentioned that the car approached at a high rate of speed and veered off the road and hit two parked vehicles, a pick-up and car. It was later determined that the pair were returning home from a Pub. Both were taken to Hospital and Miss Koon will later face charges of drunk driving.
