  1. Last days i 've seen the police very busy with this on the highways in BKK. They are on every highway lately and stop all the big trucks. Those sand or concrete-trucks ruin all the roads in my area. They are full of big cracks where a motorcycle wheel easy fits in the crack. Also the drainlids all break by their heavy weight.

Also i see truckers driving the fast lane full speed no matter when or what they just want to go fast. Good that the Police is working on this.

You don't get it do you?

  2. Not Yellow, not Red....I am more in favor of an Orange country......With a monk for President...At least the "donations" will have logic explanation, nobody will talk about corruption anymore, and everybody will live blessed and in peace.

As long as it's not the one who sleeps with underage girls, flies around in his private jet, carrying a suitcase full of money?

  3. All the posts I have read in many of the forums covering the current political situation have got me wondering.........? How many of the TV posters have carried over their political leaning from their home country to their take on Thai politics. Left leaning supporting the red shirts and their perceived support of the working classes or right leaning supporting going the other way. It would be very interesting to know. I'm willing to start and say that my politics are very right wing and I have no time at all for Thaksin and his red shirt army. What about everyone else.?

I support the right to vote. What does that make me?

I agree with you; The Democrats have done nothing to help their cause; they've done more damage if anything.......

  4. "It is likely the government will move to Chiang Mai. We can defeat tanks because we have the numbers," Kawang added.

How do propose to defeat the fighter jets, attack helicopters, and bombers?

How many red shirts are in the military [army, navy, air force]?

Will they attack their own people or allow them to be attacked?

I'm not sure? based on last years results?

The whole idea of this is ridiculous anyway. On a serious note; If things do get to this point; the result would have other countries involved, and taking sides; the outcome would probably be bad for everyone involved.........

  5. SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST

Red shirts in Chiang Mai in favour of new capital in case of coup

BANGKOK: -- The red shirt movement in Chiang Mai province has prepared a retreat for caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra should the military stage a coup d'etat.

In that case, Yingluck government can be relocated to Chiang Mai, the home province of the Shinawatra clan, with the Northern city becoming the capital.

Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post quoted red shirt activist, Mahawang Kawang, as saying that their movement is large enough to challenge the military.

"We are not afraid. All the red groups will unite. We are willing to sacrifice our lives," said Kawang, president of the alumni association of Yupparaj school in Chiang Mai where Yingluck was once a student.

"It is likely the government will move to Chiang Mai. We can defeat tanks because we have the numbers," Kawang added.

Red shirt supporters have spread rumours that the military will intervene to quell the ongoing chaos in the country caused by antigovernment protests led by former Democrat MP Suthep Thaugsuban. Suthep has led 'Bangkok Shutdown' campaign since January 13, seeking national reform

The Post reported that some experts consider the government relocating as an unlikely prospect.

Red shirt organiser Supon Fumuljaroen, a former classmate of Thaksin, is now vicechairman of the UDD in Chiang Mai province. They both hail from the small town of San Kamphaeng, about 30 minutes drive from the city of Chiang Mai.

The Post quoted Supon, a former policeman as saying "The majority of redshirts really like the idea of a separate state. If they stage a coup, we can live without Bangkok."

Pinkaew Laungaramsri, a sociologist at Chiang Mai University, said the northsouth divide meant that Thailand was breaking up.

"If the government is kicked out then Yingluck will be invited to set up a government here in Chiang Mai," she said.

Once again the red shirts demonstrate their complete lack of economical understanding. A country comprising only of the north and northeast would be a financial disaster for that country. But hey, if they want to try, why not let them. The rest of Thailand would only be missing 2 things in that case, rice and cheap labour, both of which can be imported quite cheap and plentiful from neighbouring countries.

on the contrary the new country in the north/northeast would be missing pretty much everything but rice and cheap labour - especially cash :-)

And with no opposition there would be no need to bribe the farmers with higher rice prices so even less money would go to the poor.

Lannaland would become another Cambodia and of course we can't even speculate on who will be the head of state.

Probably the same country to flies their flag in Laos, that is buying up all of Cambodia, though investments; and who is responsible for this article!

  7. From TNN24 it is in Thai.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEDLaRBWY5Q

My Thai is not very good, but the clip say something like:

The police fake as a motorcycle taxi man, was on the bridge, looking for information.

He was seen walking on the bridge trailing by a number of protester's guard.

A woman happen to notice the hidden gun, hence scream out GUN GUN.

The man try to run down the bridge, but was attacked by mob when he reach the ground.

He tried to fight, then a gun shot was heard, and a protester was seen limping.

IMHO looks more like self defense to me, but I am sure you will not agree.

He had gun, handcraft, police id, and came here ridding a police bike.

But why the hell is he wearing a motocycle-taxi vest? Moonlighting between job?

Always resembles something like a pack of dogs!

  8. How dare they parade this sick freak around; even more angering to me that he be taken in front of the parents with flowers, just days after taking their defenseless daughter's life; in the most unimmaginable way. I wouldn't expect the father to forgive him. Not to mention, all of the other little innocent lives he has stolen, and ruined. In my opinion, the humane thing to do would be to put him to sleep; He can't be trusted around human's. He will have to be locked away from anyone living, for the rest of his life; except to be studied if that's possible. Personally, I don't think you can ever come to understand someone who is this sick; or would even care to.

@FABIANFRED, it's fine to voice your opinion, and attempt to educate us all; but I don't understand your opening: "typical reactions by WASP readers" I would think most people would find these types of acts sickening and unforgivable; certainly the father of this child. Your statements describe you as a devout Buddhist, and then you label people because of the colour of their skin, with a derogatory word. Am I a WASP?

But anyway; If you're suggesting that we Westerner's (WASPS), are ignorant and confused in the practices of Buddhism here, so confused are the vast majority of the Thai people; or they just don't care?

I can list 5 big ones if you want; I'm sure you know what they are.............

P.S. I hope you can forgive me!
