  1. Actually, back then, some mail programs executed code embedded in an email; thus, you could get malware installed by opening an email.
  2. I am not sure that Bob12345 meant waiting time on the day. When I renewed last year, I had to book a time and back then there were more than two months waiting time in Phuket.
  3. This could be a long thread ... Q: Are you German? A: No, I am not German. Q: Are you Israeli? A: No, I am not Israeli. ... Why don't you tell us which country, and then maybe someone would be able to answer your question. By the way, If you want to travel to your home country directly from Thailand, you will probably be able to do so even if your passport expire.
  4. No, you do not always have to pay if you are white. Besides, there is something called insurance, some semi-nice people that is willing to pay for you if you have an accident. However, they care very much how many official papers or licenses you have.
  5. There already is a bus from the airport to the city, it costs 100 baht - is that too much?
  6. Agree. In Phuket, you can get a medical certificate very cheap and easy from Dr. Apninya's clinic not that far from Immigration and Phuket Provincial Transport Office. I am not sure about the price, I think I paid 200 baht last year and it took 5 minutes to get: Dr. Apinya clinic - Google Maps
  7. However, be aware that your insurance will not cover if you do not have a valid license; and the license is not valid after the experation date.
  8. Sorry, if this is a stupid question. I see many write about QR codes and phones; is it not possible to pay using contact free payment with the chip on a credit card? In Denmark, which I believe was the frontrunner in digital payment, not Sweden, we use contact less payment with a credit card. Very fast and very convenient.
  9. In basic math, the change is some 9,59 %. Or 7 percent point. 😁
  10. It is two different things. The IDP itself is valid for 12 months. However, the country you are visiting may demand a local licence if you stay more than a certain time. I believe it is 3 months in most countries, including in Thailand.
  11. Why would she care what he can do? She gets the money, she can still do all these things.
  12. The contract started when both partners signed it. Your rent period had not started yet. Anything in the contract about what happens if one of the signers does not fulfill it? Also, how much was the deposit compared to rent and how long was the rent period?
  13. Not a spider but still ... 19 minutes long but surely worth it.
  14. It's not you and I doubt that new speakers will make much of a difference. I usually always watch TV shows and movies with subtitles on, and when watching movies with guns and cars exploding I am usually constantly turning the sound up and down so I can hear the dialogue and so I do not bother the neighbours too much. I believe I paid around 5.000 baht for my speakers.
  15. They don't even care when someone is scamming in Facebook's name. Two times, I got a direct message warning me that Facebook was about to close my account. I had to log in on a special page and ask for it not to be closed. It was of course a fake website and the message was not from an official Facebook company user. I reported the message and explained that it was an attempt to get my login code to Facebook. The first time, I never got a reply. The second time, I got a reply after a couple of weeks saying that the user/the message did not contain anything against Facebook's policies.
  16. He/she should have known better than to park in front of the angry aunties house.
  17. Isn't that a Click? As far as I can see on the internet, the ADV is not a step through. I gave up buying a new scooter because I want a step through and I want a key and kick start. Apparently they do not make those anymore. By the way, a Click 125i is fine for touring. I have been around Thailand a few times on mine.
  18. I was told 30 days. It does not say anything about validity on the Certificate of Residence, though. By the way, when applying for the Certificate of Residence you have to state what you want it for; however, the certificate can be used for several things nonetheless. Mine says driver's license, buy or sell a car or open a bank account even thought I stated buying a scooter on the application
  19. You don't need that in Phuket. The TM30 is needed in Phuket. I brought the rent contract but I do not remember if they wanted to see it.
  20. Maybe no on cares, however, generally, wild camping is not allowed. Thus camping on private ground after getting permission from the owner is the safe bet. Many national parks offers camping in a tent. https://wanderingourworld.com/wild-camping-southeast-asia-rules-every-country/
  21. He forgot to snap his fingers! If you are confused ... then you are too young.
  22. In August 2022, a new bus route opened on a trial basis directly from Don Mueang to North Pattaya Bus Station in Pattaya. They started with two departures daily, at 10:30 and 15:00, and the price was 350 baht. If they still operate the route you should be able to buy a ticket from a stall between exit 10 and 11.
  23. 1 year, according to the motor office. However, I am not sure the insurance will cover in that period. ** I have sort of the opposite problem. Last year I got a two year license because I was on a tourist visa. Now I am on a proper visa and should be able to get a five year licence - but how long before the expiration date can I apply for a new licence? I still got +1 year on the licence. ** Sorry, didn't realize that you asked about the 1st 2 year licence. My answer is for a 5 year licence. I am not sure it is the same for a 2 year licence.
  24. Sorry for not saying so, I thought it was back in all countries. It was gone for a while but in the last year I have seen it mentioned for several countries in various threads in here. I got mine in Denmark.
