  1. Hm, maybe one should open a gogo bar called The Beach. I'm single but I am a sucker for happy endings of the non-massage kind; it is a pleasure reading this thread!
  2. You "only" have to have proof of full payment for 90 days. But you do need a Thai health insurance, and then there's the paperwork. Do you want to stay 9 months? If for a shorter time, you may want to check if the embassy in your country offers the multi entry tourist visa.
  3. I just got my COE based on the 1 day stay at the SHA+ hotel in Phuket. I am impressed, they accepted it 6:13 in the morning. They must have people working there Thai time. I will recomment the hotel for the "1 day quarantine" even thought I haven't stayed there yet. I wrote to a handfull of hotels; only two answered, the other one wanted a 7 day booking that was not refundable even if only staying 1 dag. The hotel I am using is Panphuree Residence Phuket, the price: 890 baht for a deluxe room, 1050 baht for a One Bed Room Suite.
  4. I got a SHABA ID from a hotel, staying 1 day, free pickup at the airport (the hotel is situated next to the airport). I registered for a test at Thailand PSAS, and they have geared their system for the new requirements with only one test at the airport for 2.400 baht. I have yet to see if the Thai embassy in Denmark will grant me a COE based on this.
  5. It has to cover your stay in Thailand; thus, if you spend the wait time in another country it should be fine. Two things to be aware of: Be sure to ask the insurance company if the 14 days waiting period is from when you get the insurance and not from when you enter Thailand. Ask if the insurance will cover a stay at a hospital even if you do not have any symptoms. The one from TGIA do cover in this case.
  6. I am not sure if they want proof of accommodation for the whole stay. I have been renting the same apartment for three years and I just uploaded a copy of the rental contract.
  7. Yes, you need a confirmation of the appointment for your COE (and later the Thailand Pass). First, you need a SHABA ID from the hotel; you need that for the COE as well. Then you go to https://www.thailandpsas.com and register for an appointment. They already have changed the system to only one test, the one at the airport, which costs 2.400 baht. After the payment you can download a certificate for your COE.
  8. As ubonjoe says, it seems you chose the wrong visa. Start again, and select Tourism / Leisure activities under Purpose of Visit.
  9. Select Tourism / Leisure activities under Purpose of Visit. In some countries, you can only select "single" in the next drop-down box, hopefully, you can select "multiple" in Sweden. I guess the requirements for Sweden will be much the same as for Denmark so maybe you can use my article on getting a visa: https://rejse-til-thailand.dk/visa
  10. Yes, click the Next button, and you can see the first portion of documents you need to upload. I haven't gone longer than that in the process as I already have a visa (METV), but if you need to visit the embassy it should say so in the next page again. Hopefully, you will not need to go to the embassy in Sweden. Most visas, if not all, are now stickerless, meaning you get a PDF file that you then print yourself. I chose the METV as I believe that a border run wil be possible in the next three months time, and I do not want the hassle of the STV and an expensive and/or useless Thai health insurance.
  11. This was one of the holdouts for me last year - it may have changed since; back then there were also a requirement for a large sum in a bank which is no longer required. I have an apartment lease without a fixed period. They wanted a statement from the owner that I had paid for the duration of the planned stay (6 months). A simply receipt was not enough, it had to be specific with the dates of arrival and departure and that it was paid for the full period.
  12. It seems so but you will have to check yourself to see what it says when you apply at the e-visa site. It may be different in your country. For instance, I can apply and get the Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV) as a Dane but other members in here from some other countries cannot get the METV.
  13. The STV: Check the website for the Thai embassy in your country as the requirements in your country may be different from the requirements in other countries; however, In Denmark: You need a health insurance from a Thai insurance company. This is in addition to the Covid insurance that you need for the COE/Thailand Pass. You need a certificate from a doctor stating that you do not have leprosy and some other deceases. Statement from the police that you do not have a criminal record. Proof of paid accommodation for the duration of your stay. They still list quarantine as a requirement but that may not be necessary any more.
  14. Sorry, that is wrong. As HansumFarang said in another thread, they hide it under "Duration of stay no longer than 90 days".
  15. The STV is not listed there when I log in. I guess one would have to apply at the embassy.
  16. The Multi Entry Tourist Visa is still available in some countries, I just got one in Denmark. Much easier than the STV that I got last year.
  17. May I ask from where where you got that information? It does not sound plausible if it means that vaccinated arrivals in Phuket will need to do the 7 day sandbox after November 1st.
  18. I do not believe that; I am sure he will ask the citizens to assemble the cabinet.
  19. One needs to consider the length of stay, the price, and the work required when choosing between the METV and the STV. It is much more cumbersome and costly to get the STV. I got the STV last year; this year, I chose the METV with one border run for a stay of five months.
  20. @ThaiVisaCentre Will you get one day quotes for Phuket as well? So far you only have quotes from hotels in Bangkok.
  21. Right, but that may change within the 60+30 days stay; that is what I am counting on. At the moment, residents can go to any of the 46 countries on the list and come back in less than 21 days, we just need that to be the case for everyone.
  22. I guess it depends on the country. In Denmark, they do issue the METV.
  23. And you got it as refundable? I just checked the hotel near my apartment and in the question section, they clearly state that if the booking is used as a sandbox booking a refundable booking is changed to a non-refundable booking.
  24. Probably the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: https://image.mfa.go.th/mfa/0/mkKfL2iULZ/List_of_countries_under_category_13/List_of_Countries_(ENG).pdf
  25. I did check agoda; none of the ones I looked at allowed cancellation later than a week before arrival. So, yes, it seems the way to go is to find the cheapest and then hope for the best.
