Please be aware that the requirement for Thailand Pass is not a covid insurance but a health insurance. The TGIA insurance that ubonjoe mentioned is for covid only. You may be able to get the Thailand Pass with that one - or you may not. If you want insurance for covid the TGIA one is good because of the age limit and also because it covers hospital even if one does not have symptons. But you may need an ordinary health insurance as well.

The 16th; however, they agreed to that change before the news of omicron, so you should not be surprised if they delay the change to January or later. Yes, I will have to do a border run, unless they continue with the covid extensions. I arrived November 2nd, and I am gambling that a border run will be possible by the end of January. If not by land then by air. You are right, it is not possible at the moment; however, the other countries are beginning to open up now. The big question will probably be if I need a 1 night hotel when I get back to Thailand and how many covid tests I need to take.

The 400k/40k insurance is for the STV. The 100k USD insurance used to be for covid for the COE; however, with the new Thailand Pass they changed that requirement to a 50k USD health insurance. Not only covid but health. Thus, your 400k/40 insurance should be fine for the STV, but the 100k USD covid insurance is not good for the Thailand Pass. That said, the requirements may be different in your country regarding the STV - did they ask for the 50k USD insurance when applying for the STV or for the Thailand Pass?

They changed that to a 50k USD health insurance. Is your 400k/40k insurance in baht? And is your 100k USD insurance for covid only? If so, you do not have the required 50k USD health insurance.

Only thing is, the TAT explains that the extra plus means that the hotel is in a partnership with a certified hospital for the RT-PCR test. Thus, the change makes absolutely no sense for Phuket. It would have been easier and less confusing to require that the SHA+ hotels elsewhere offer the full package with test and transport. Just as before with the SHA+ hotels. Do you have any idea whaty this means for Phuket where they take the test at the airport? It would be a step back if they change that to hospital tests.

Those are probably from before the Test & Go opening. Before that there were some talks about making it possible to transit in Bangkok the same way as the transit to Samui. That idea was killed when they opened up instead. As skatewash says, if no direct flight to Phuket, take the test in Bangkok and then fly to Phuket. If you arrive early in the morning it may be possible to continue to Phuket the same day.

It is quite confusing. They have not updated the tipinsure (TGIA) website; as you can see, they still offer a 100,000 USD insurance. And for covid only. Also, I am not sure the now required health insurance actually needs to cover covid. Some places they say it does, other places they do not mention covid coverage. I don't know how long you intend to stay, maybe a travel insurance will do? I am not sure if travel insurances have age restrictions. Personally, I chose to have the TGIA insurance to cover me in case of a positive covid test. My travel insurance is great for health care but do not cover "treatment" in case of asymptomatic covid.

I know; however, I believe they announced that the Thailand Pass would faciliate the filling of TM6 and T8, and I believe the T8 is history now - they didn't want to see that when I arrived November 2nd on a COE. They did want the TM 6, though, so I was curious if that was because I arrived on a COE or if they will require that as usual. I guess that you and Dancer57 answered that, thanks.

As far as I remember, a copy of my passport-ID. They already got that earlier but that is proof of residency.

Hm, some places they do mention the inclusion of coverage for covid. Other places they do not.
