  1. A director of the Public Warehouse Office said it was incorrect that rice was missing, so the powers to be suspended him. Many others have been transferred in order to railroad the case through unopposed.

I think a big difference betwen railroading and finding out the truth.....in any case, a loss of over 500billion is worth investigating....without interference from possible involved people.

A few extra zeros crept in there. "ONLY" 500 million was the OP. thats 1/2 a billion. Still more than my pension.and investments............. And more that a few rice-farmers worth of scamming.

He's correct. 500 billion baht loss for the rice scheme

  2. So would I be right then is presuming that the NACC were able to complete an audit of all the warehouses, within the last 10 days, and have indeed found a discrepancy of close to 300 Million tonnes, but had been unable to do this over the past 2 years?

The reason I'm asking is did they not already state that they didn't have the resources or the finances to check over 2-300 warehouses, where the ice was alleged to have gone missing?

And yet, now that the Military are now in power, they were able to indeed are able to present a clear case of missing rice, in the quantities that was allegedly "missing" in the space of 10 days?

They're in the wrong line of work if that's the case, they should be coppers, if this is indeed the case and there's 300M Tonnes missing, then it's quite right that those responsible for it's theft, are punished accordingly.

    300 million tonnes of ice?

Or 2.8 million tonnes of rice?

  3. You'd have to assume that the bulk of the information coming to light is from the police who have had a lot of political influence from above removed unceremoniously.

Roll on June 10th when the arms amnesty ends and 20 year prison terms come into effect.

I would hope they would do the same with drugs soon after.

  4. The Thais education system achieves extremely low marks for teaching history and this largely explains the Hitler and swastika issue.

Look even now at the use if the 3 fingered salute that the anti-coup protesters are using that is supposed to mean liberty, equality and fraternity that comes right from the French revolution that overthrew the powers that be in a coup! Almost like using a Nazi salute to protest against fascism.

You could do a lot worse than look at the Wikipedia article on the French Revolution if you have a spare minute.

  5. If there is any justice in the world - at this moment Jatuporn, Chalerm, Suthep, etc are being turned into a human centipede.

    So who's incarcerated up there?

    5 reds

    5 yellows

    5 dems

    5 peua Thai

With 18 more PTP and 3 Shinawatras on the invitation list.

    What could Prayuth be thinking?

  6. I could understand all this if the intention was to lock them all in a room until they had a solution that they were all agreed on.

But its a job to understand where all this is going

It's called housekeeping. That requires taking out the garbage sometimes.

Will that loon from Monkut Wattana be in charge? He's been very quiet

  7. This move by Suthep is provocative. It was provocative earlier today when we were still under martial law. Now that a coup has been called, it would be much more provocative if these plans were not substantially curtained. The winds are already blowing in the direction that Suthep would favour. He knows it and he's jubilant - as are many Thais right now. But he really, really needs to cool it. This is way too premature. Hopefully, later on in the day, he will see the sense of that. He exerts a lot of influence on his followers. He needs to be conscious of that and just allow things to take their course.

Suthep is drunk on his own power and has probably been sobered up by his incarceration

  8. The problems we have seen from both sides involving doctored photos, videos and voice clips as well as downright lies and false stories are not what is needed now.

The standard news sites are reporting fact, some of it critical of the army.

I don't see the big deal at present with taking some sites off air so long as its fair.

I admit that I would not feel the same if it were my media outlet.

Perhaps the army can have each outlet sign a set of rules for them to sign to permit them to get back on air in the next few weeks
