  1. I didn't say Convicted Terrorist Red Shirt Leader Currently Out On Bail Deputy Agriculture Minister, I said,

Indicted Terrorist Red Shirt Leader Currently Out On Bail Deputy Agriculture Minister.

His name is in the post I quoted, but just for completeness sake, I'll amend my post to say,

Indicted Terrorist Red Shirt Leader Currently Out On Bail Deputy Agriculture Minister Pheu Thai Party-list Member of Parliament Natthawut Saikua

    .

Shouldn't it read 'indicted on terrorist charges'

My, how you struggle to protect your side. We'll simplify for you

Thrice Indicted Red Shirt Leader Currently Out On Bail Deputy Agriculture Minister Pheu Thai Party-list Member of Parliament Natthawut Saikua

    .

there you go, that wasn't hard was it?

Still have some nonsense in there though about 'my side' when I have made it abundantly clear I have no side in thai politics, I just like to highlight posts by people like you, on either side, that deal in lies and misinformation in their posts, but we can let that slide now you finally realize how to write a post without being defamatory.

    Well done you, yayyyyyyyyy clap2.gif

you mean you're not a red?

  2. The fact that there was a lot of ill-feeling (murderous hatred?) between different regiments in the Thai army is widely reported. The obvious bias to a particular regiment in regards to promotions left others extremely bitter

are you able to reference that with an article of any credibility?

New Mandala has this very good article and there are other sources out there.

what became of the Manas Paolik branch?

  3. I accept there was no election promise by Abhisit

Abhisit mentioned the 300 baht minimum wage, unfortunately he chose to favour the profit margins of business rather than support the under paid workers

The Header on this thread is already highlighting the fact that the 300 baht minumum is falling behind the rising cost of living

I accept there was no election promise by Abhisit

    .

I also accept anything he did promise he is not in a position to deliver.........did he promise his supporters they would win the election?

Who was it that said "i promise you in six months you will all be rich"

  4. For Jayboy.

Robert Amsterdam is crossing a busy road when a bus comes and runs him over killing him on the spot. Suddenly Amsterdam finds himself at the pearly gates in front of St Peter, who is holding a very large dusty book in front of him. "Ah welcome" says St Peter, "you must be Mr Amsterdam", "yes" comes the whimpered reply, "but I am too young to die". "Nonsense" says St Peter, "you have had one of our best recorded innings. 410 years old! I think you have dodged your time long enough". "But but that is not true, I am 48 and not a day older, I am too young, please send me back! How on earth can you think I am 410 years old"? "Oh that's easy" says St Peter, "You see, we just add up all the hours you have ever charged your clients"! wink.png

    And for the rest!

I think it is a dangerous precedent to try and set by trying to bring charges against the interpreter. Unless she said something of her own accord, then she is hired to ensure that the Thai people and media hear an accurate translation of Amsterdam's words. By raising charges against her it will seriously diminish the credibility of the charges against Amsterdam, and those charges are a good thing. Hopefully next time Amsterdam will think twice about squeezing in to an undersized red shirt and spouting off about things he only possesses a superficial knowledge of. As for the translator, it could be mighty hard for any government spokes person to get one in the future should the charges proceed.

my take on it is that she read out the speech at a rally.

It would be interesting to know the circumstances underwhich it was made. If Amsterdam was there and asked her to read it out, that is one thing. If she was acting as part of the red shirt movement then that's another thing altogether.

  5. In terms of sympathy for the redshirt movement, albeit with caveats, there is huge support among the most educated people in the Kingdom.

Have you got any concrete evidence of this?

Armed with some understanding of Thaiscript, you only have to look around online to find plenty of it to the contrary.

I was thinking of that grouping sometimes known as the intelligentsia - university academics, elite university educated professionals, leading journalists etc.Note I am not saying this represents other than a minority of well educated Thais nor does it imply any respect for Thaksin. But it is a very significant and impressive group, a world away from the often hysterical online presence you mention - 'the velly educate peeple".

    what exactly are you saying?

  6. 279-8. 127 MPs abstained.

An abstention is neither approval, nor disapproval.

Apparently, the Democrats despite their objections didn't want to vote against the budget. It seems that they were not that opposed.

Or they didn't vote as a protest to having forced on them a budget which lacks details. Oh and as the vote took place Saturday 1:30AM it seems more than 80 MP already left.

BTW the government has 300 seats, only 279 votes for the budget. Does that mean MPs with cabinet positions didn't vote, or did some dissent?

Apathy or the cheque's in the bank
