I don't know if the same owners as before or changed hands. But seems good reviews lately too so probably no change. -
British Tourist Knocked Out by Pattaya Club Bouncer

Two idiots fighting, only one down. having said that, security guards in bar areas should be trained to talk away or take down these drunkards nicely. Shoud not get agitated by idiot drunks. But hard to find such mature guys here to work as guard. -
Thailand's Upcoming Entertainment Law Set to Change Nightlife
mran66 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You missed the whole purpose of these law, which is not the same as in the west. If no laws would need to be broken to run a profitable business, how could the police force and various other govt officials make their living? The purpose of potential additional laws is to try to get more reasons for payments, not to change anything on the ground. That's how big part of the country economy works. -
Thailand's Upcoming Entertainment Law Set to Change Nightlife

That's exactly why they will be built. Not only get some change from foreigners as usual, but get the rest as well - at least from some of them. Another prong to the forex generating trident of bar girl sponsorship, buying property in wife's name and funding life of sick buffalos/grandmas/etc which are all good with decent hooks, but for many Asian guys spending their change in WS, casinos could work better to get the rest from them. Have to say not a bad business strategy financially. But I'll stick playing with change only. -
Have you ever heard a Thai expressing responsibility for something negative happened? Sometimes kind of entertaining to listen the explanations and ways try to make things appear not their fault

For dog attacks, change the law so that owner of the dog is responsible for the attacks as if he would have done the attack himself. Maybe people get more careful.

Any recommendations for a decent residence hotel in Pattaya
mran66 replied to jaywalker2's topic in Pattaya
It's a hidden gem...now that I am living here can share to others... Unbeatable value. Only advise I can give is that if you prefer soft bed like I do, need to ask if could get room with one as ome rooms have firmer ones and some quality soft ones. -
Any recommendations for a decent residence hotel in Pattaya

Also stayed in this hotel every now and then, though not monthly. I recall they did not have monthly discount rate. But the hotel was absolutely excellent for the money. Can recommend to anyone - however I recall they presumably had a policy that you should not change girlfriend every night, not sure though as I had a long rent at the time and that was fine. https://maps.app.goo.gl/CRzjZGYX9Tbh5HQe7 -

Few years ago I used to stay in this place on and off some 1-3 MO at a time. paid 11-12k per month. Clean and tidy. Prices might have gone up since then though. It was pretty new place at the time, all okay for me. https://maps.app.goo.gl/u7pP6VRofbdd7JiU7 -

No. Just get to their temple in time for the date with a lady of the night and a bottle of laokao. -

Wonder if offering a ride to a monk actually qualifies as 'merit' if the person giving the ride won't also give cash to the monk? Like the indulgence thingy in catholic church before, good deeds did not count unless you also gave cash to the priests as that what they really are after. -

Excactly. Has been like that quite a while. Maybe they think the taxation changes last year as incentive to make that happen. -
... And this is another one that opened neighbors drain last year. They came from some industrial area outside Pattaya with couple of days waiting time that's why I did not use them as wanted immediately as could to even use shower. The first crew is in Pattaya, came right away. Same machine, same performance. Charged 2000

These guys had the motorized professional snake, opened my clogged kitchen drain with it. I recall they put some 10 meters of the snake into the pipe. Agree price upfront. Thai friend who referred to me paid 1500, I assumed same so did not agree price upfront, but after finished they wanted more (not recall for sure if it was 2k or 2500), I assume because farang... Anyway end result was good.

Try enter National Park and you see locals happy. Or send money to treat sick buffalo or sick mama, papa, etc. -

Not uncommon (according to news at least) for "netizens" to get outraged of acts where the ones involved are extremely happy. Jealousy? Or just fake news and netizens actually happy too? -

Not many ladyboys in that area. Residents in the area prefer genuine unmodified males. -

Not sure about decibels. But the good thing is you won't hear guys having noisy arguments with their ladies there too often. Bedroom screams are typically more like baritone instead of the usual mezzo-soprano type. -

Transporting monks certainly a job reserved for Thai people only. Supporting monks and temples financially is ok for foreigners though- 65 replies

17 Dead in Bus Crash on Hillside Road in Prachinburi

".. . the driver attempted to shift gears from third to second, but the brakes and gearbox failed due to a loss of air pressure" 555 the funny explanations start coming quick. Never heard truck brakes not to stop the vehicle if air pressure is lost, rather the opposite. -
