  1. Wai La Dee was great long ago, then something went wrong. The dishes were clearly prepared by staff without the chef's supervision. Then they got their A game back.
But I went last month and not only was the food pedestrian (again) the mainland Chinese have put this place on their radar and 70 percent of diners are loudly shouting at each other and otherwise showing no respect for other diners. There is solo piano music in the background on the PA system but you can't hear it anymore over the Mandarin din. A real pity on both fronts.

When I see this (Le Crystal) -- 15g of gelato? -- I have to sneer. Unless, of course it's free....

Are there any restaurants with ethnic food (not French) you would recommend? African/Indian/Middle Eastern?

  2. I have a couple of old classical ones from Japan that were student loaner models. Yamaha G-60A and an old Hashimoto.

I also have a very nice half guitar (label indecipherable) you might like if you are traveling. Full-sized fretboard. Very well built (even has a truss rod).

All could use new strings, but quite playable. You can borrow one for your duration.

PM me. Be patient as I am not here often at all.

  3. Is there such a person?

I'm looking for someone to fine tune something with my swing, but looking at the "coaches" around the various driving ranges, I am not impressed in the slightest.

Anyone have first-hand experience with a real winning coach?

  4. Thursday amulet market at Kamtieng, across from the post office and next to the big Tesco.
There are booths that do nothing but make these. They are REALLY good. I had some special sized made and was absolutely amazed at the quality of workmanship.

  5. RAM has a lot of expensive machines that can do many things you don't need. I have come to the conclusion over a period of time that the management must be pushing the doctors to do as many tests on the expensive machines as possible, regardless of whether you might need it or not.

  6. Remember, the legal concept of cannabis in Thailand states that the THC content must be less than 0.2 percent

The average THC content in recreational marijuana is 20 percent or more.

What Thailand is advocating is a bit like the current fashion to put the word "truffle" in snack foods with the fungus making up a similar percentage. Some would call this false advertising, but technically speaking it is true.

  7. "LONDON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - People in England with COVID-19 will from late February no longer be legally required to self-isolate to stem the spread of COVID-19, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Wednesday, proposing to speed up existing plans to live with the virus.

Johnson ended almost all COVID-19 restrictions in England last July, and last month lifted "Plan B" measures that had been temporarily imposed to slow the spread of the more recent Omicron variant of the coronavirus."

Hey Thailand...isn't this the same virus? Or is the one in Thailand different and needs special heightened madness mandates?
