I wonder who the brown envelope was for.

Yes, I too took the Thai driving test which consists of 3 elements (2 parking and one reversing). One of the glaring omissions, is not teaching or testing drivers for emergency stop. As the OP says, it's no wonder there are so many deaths on Thailand's roads.

a single tourist would come here ever again and that these useless politicians get serious cancer from
this incessant burning and smog. The Thai people are simply too docile. As for me, plans are being made
to relocate as soon as my contract is fulfilled.
The BBC online has this report on its front page.

When you arrive at the pier, there will be people representing resorts and taxi drivers and you will be able to negotiate prices, particularly with the taxis. When I came to KP 11 years ago, I stayed at the Siam Healing Centre, which I would think is about a 30 minute walk from the pier. It's run be a very friendly Thai couple and they have some nice 1 bedroom bungalows, build round a small lake. They would be worth a call just to get an idea of prices.

I think many hotels only allocate a portion of their rooms to Agoda. Agoda can exhaust their allocation before the hotel is fully booked.
You might try contacting the hotel directly and asking.
I agree, contact resorts directly. To answer your question, I wouldn't expect to pay more than 15000 baht for the 3 weeks.

I'm sure you'll find a rental mid March, especially with your budget. It's true that KP is busy right now, but we're bang in the middle of high season. March is generally much quieter.

The ratings on Lazada are very often not worth a toss! For example I ordered 2 Logitech mice recently and received a pack of 5 batteries instead, When I spoke to the seller he insisted that I got what I ordered and paid for and then proceeded to insult me, I took it up with Lazada, who confirmed that I was in the right and promised me a refund.
I gave the seller a 1 star review, which was surprisingly his 1st bad review, all the rest were 4 and 5 star. I had to wait a couple of weeks, as the seller eventually agreed the refund, but took his time to process it through Lazada,Once I'd received the refund, I understood why this charlatan didn't have any bad reviews. Lazada took down my review, which was obviously part of the deal in getting him to refund.

Buy a small fire extinguisher and use it when he is on the common balcony.
I would have thought that pushing him would be better, you don't want your prints all over the fire extinguisher. We would get immense pleasure hearing that the police 'were sure it was another suicide' ????

Yes, I have a 25 year lease written and signed at the land office in KP

If you feel well, I'd agree with the expats, your weight is not too bad for your age and I wouldn't worry about dieting. What I do believe, however, is that you should keep your weight as is, don't smoke and don't drink too much alcohol and get plenty of exercise.

To shed a bit more light on the reason for this poor guy's suicide, apparently he met and fell in love with a young Thai woman in Bangkok and upon returning to Thailand, having been back to Germany, he found out that his gf had found someone else and dumped him. They found his body this afternoon, off of Ko Tao of all places.

Having binged on Yellowstone, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I'm now watching 1883, a prequel of Yellowstone by the same author, Taylor Sheridan. There's no doubt that this guy is a great writer and 1923 and Mayor of Kingstown are on my next things to watch list.
In between the Westerns, I've really enjoyed the 2 seasons of The White Lotus and will be looking out for season 3. I loved the locations, particularly Taormina in Sicily, which I visited a few years back. The views from the Greek theatre are stunning!

Always make an unpacking video. And don't make the same mistake that I made. If you ordered several items from the same seller you need the return form for each single item. The courier will scan them and confirm in this way that he received everything.
Yes, I will do in future.

I just had a conversation with someone in Lazada's customer care dept, as having ordered 2 Logitech mice with batteries, I only received a pack of 4 batteries, no mice! The seller is insisting that I got what I ordered and when I told him that I would call Lazada, this was his response.

The point is, that when I asked whether or not they would contact the seller, the answer was no, it's obviously cheaper for them to refund the customer and allow the charlatans to continue their practice.

The best and by far the cheapest pharmacy on Koh Phangan is tucked away directly behind the Bangkok Bank in Thong Sala. I have used this pharmacy for more than 10 years and the lady pharmacist is very knowledgeable and helpful. She has never once tried to rip me off with expensive products, unlike certain other establishments on the island! The pharmacy is only open in the evenings during the week and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

What about the sex workers? they're classified as unemployed, surely. They don't do much anyway apart from laying on their backs with their legs open!
