  1. Yes I did mean the Planters type - or the British version which is made by KP foods and has the same ingredients.

Another think I can't seem to find is Twiglets. I guess only Brits would know about, or even enjoy eating, tasty little Twiglets !! ( they're little brown wheat sticks covered in dried Vegemite / Marmite, fyi).

    Planters! Yum!!!!

ok you guys/gals have me hungry again! :(

Speaking of peanuts, our driver got me some boiled peanuts.

    I LOVE boiled peanuts .

    I bit into one.

    <deleted>???? it was SWEET! :(

still good, but in hawaii and in the south of the US, the boiled peanuts are slightly salty.

:( i guess i'll have to make my own, that is, IF i can find some raw peanuts in the shell

  2. Hi. Brand spanking new memeber here. smile.png

    15 handicap.

I didnt bring my clubs from san diego with me. while traveling up north, i ran across a billboard advertising a Callaway outlet. My friends(thai nationals) told me that in thailand, "outlet" means you'll pay US prices or higher smile.png). anyone have expereince with those outlets?

and any good local sources for new or used clubs?

I found oneonline that looked interesting for new clubs.

    onlygolfthailand dot com

Sorry, but the forum wouldnt let me supply the actual link. smile.png

Just checked out the site you mentioned. 14,000 baht for a Diablo driver that is three generations old and could buy in the US for 3,000 baht? For the same money, you'd be better off buying a plane ticket home and buying the latest gear at US retail prices.

Yes you could. you could also have some friends ship it to you. the possibilities are endless.

Do you have any other suggestions? atleast i offered up a suggestion other than to fly over and buy it. :D

PS the burners 3-pw at 20K bhat didnt sound too bad. but some of the other werent so good. but it was a source.

Any other recommendations would be greately appreciated by this hack.

  3. My comment wasn't meant as a dig either, just a gentle reminder. I've traveled the world on business and have learned to not ask what I was eating. Many things were absolutely delicious, but I probably wouldn't have eaten it if I knew before hand what it was. Ever tried "rocky mountain oysters"?

Sorry, i dont have to balls to eat that....

    ......

    .....

    I'm ashamed. but i couldnt resist biggrin.png

  4. "What seems to have been overlooked here is that not only the MCB but the local mosque have totally and unreservedly condemned the attacks, and any similar action; unfortunately the actions of a few bigoted extremists often leads to the condemnation and sidelining of all - which is just what the extremists want"

Talk and condemnation is cheap,do those that condemn the attacks do anything to control their own Bigoted Extremist people? a Big NO!

Because it's not the job of citizens to chastise those who break the law. That's called vigilantism. It's the job of the police.

    http://www.guardian....omophobic-video

    I disagree.

its not vigilantism to promote understanding, and tolerance. Its the duty of every citizen pomote civil conduct, and prevent someone breaking the law if possible. its not vigilantism to break up a bar fight by pulling a buddy away, its not vigilantism to prevent law breaking, as long as we dont break the law ourselves . If we turn a blind, be afraid to get involved, and say "let the law handle it", we have lost. the lawyers and cheaters will win.

I'm not promoting violence, but i am saying that the religious leaders have a big influence in the musilum community and need to take a more active positive ACTIVE role. The moderates need to be more vocal, and take more of a leadership role. The community needs to be more active in self policing. Else the younger will see this as the legetimate feelings of the community and adopt those views themselves. and the intolerance will be perpetuated for another generation.

10 years ago, I heard (via the media) that intolerant muslims were just a small fraction of the muslim community. and i wondered, why arent the huge numbers of the moderates speaking out and doing something about it? Its their kids doing and saying this (they are SOMEBODY's kids, right?) Now atleast the moderates are speaking out. Perhaps at somepoints the moderates will start doing something about it before we lose another generation of young impressionalbe youth.

I'm officially getting off my high horse biggrin.png

Sorry for the tirate. I'm usually a bit more under control but this issue seem to strike a nerve with me.

Dying for the sake of dying, intolerance for the sake of intolerance. such a waste.

OK i'm a newbie here so i'll use one of my newbie silver bullets to ask a stupid question.

what is the reference to the "5's" and "sperm bank robbery ad"?

Thanks in advance for your reply and patience smile.png

Hi Newbie, no stupid question at all, the 5 refers to the number 5 in Thai Language which is pronounced as HA so 55555 is pronounced hahahahaha the sperm robbery ad refers to a Thai advertising from a while ago have a look your self the English subtitles will help you get it. Once you have seen the ad you can click on many more of these Thai ads and they are very funny at least that's what I think

Recent transplant from the states. I'll have to learn about "visa runs" very soon :(

Digging the Thai food, Thai people (dam_n, everyone seem so friendly), and thai women :)

i'm 54, act 24, probably smell 74 and look thai (they tell me) as long as i dont open my mouth to speak.

and lastly, dam_n thai is a hard language to pick up. I keep replying to people in spanish! cheesy.gif

"lo siento"...... i mean "kah tort" :)

  7. rubbish thru the window? WHIMP! :))

Just kidding. I grew up in a mixed household in the 50's and 60's in the states. Army Brat. Kids growing up in the MTV era, have NO idea of opression. In the civi schools that i went to, there were "whites", "blacks" and "japs". if you were chinese, you might be lucky enough to be called "chink", but mostly you were a "jap". if you were asian, but not japanese, or chinese, you were still "japs". If you were from a mixed home, they really didnt know what to call you. So you became "jap" to the blacks, "nigger" to the whites. Execpt among the army families. There people understood, and we got along,,,,,,,,, somewhat.

It was ok. i just kicked everyone's asses in every achedemic test they gave me. :D That pretty much shut them up.

If you havent figured, the above was the worst, and the last line was the best :). Just trying to fit into the topic parameters lol

  9. According to the police there's CCTV footage of her stealing the camera and police say they intend to prosecute. Also mentions she was studying at Zurich University, not Singapore.

  10. Sprite Zero

    In & Out Burger

    Yep. In-n-out burger.

The thai whopper is pretty close to the US

Found A&W root beer but no DQ at the same place :(

Found the Dew at a rest stop! :D

McD fries here in TL just dont cut it. :(

Steaks in TL are HORRIBLE! :( what i would do for a Ruth-Chris or a Mortons.

    Cioppino, or Paella!

I LOVE thai food. so when it comes down to it,

in-n-out, a good steak, laphroaig10, and a siglo vi are it for me. But that could change after a year lol.

  11. Lived in "cajun" country in the US for many years. Go into the local seafood restaurant. The tablecloth was used newspaper and you ordered shrimp, crabs and crawfish by the pound. Cooked them in cajun spices and dumped them in a pile in the middle of the table. If you wanted to "clean" them it was up to you but never saw anyone doing it. Crawfish are deliciuos. "Eat the tail and suck the head" Eating them is an art! JT didn't you ever eat crawdads? Did you clean them?

the fact you used the term "crawdads" warms my heart. :)

from tx to maryland, no one i know de-veins a shrimp boil (if you know what that is). I find that about 1/2 of the chinese dishes in the US with shirmp are de-veined. either way its going in my mouth :D If you ever eaten a deep fried shrimp head, you've eaten just as bad or worse.

    Shoot, i'm hungry again! :(

But I cant do the "chicken feet" thang. its just not my style I guess.
