  1. man some of you out there are HARSH.

I dont think he's looking for sympathy. Its not even to OP that he's writing about.

He's also not asking for advise, from what i can tell.

All i can see that he did was to give a general "heads up" to the forum

in hopes of helping someone avoid a similar mistake.

As my mentor once told me "No good deed goes unpunished!" lol

  2. Someone should make a tidy sum by selling b vs dollar or euro.

and then again reverse once the b stabilizes.

I wonder who could do that? whistling.gif

In a country with corruption problems,

    these kind of questions arise.

    On that note,

    In a largely agricultural country

with a trending trade deficit (tradingeconomics.com/thailand/balance-of-trade)

how can you have a currency that trading up against other currency?

Is it the tourist dollars making up the difference?

Which is why i'm a EE and not a finance guy! laugh.png

  3. Osiris - Thanks! I'll have to check it out the next time i'm in bkk. hopefully within a couple of weeks! smile.png

DiNiro - If you spent 25 years in Salinas, yes you more than qualify. I'll take your word on good Mex food biggrin.png

kblaze - yep you are correct, but while gringo can mean anglo (see haole in Hawaiian, i guess feleng here in TL)

I use the non-term gringo-fied to mean dishes that have been toned down for the western palate.

like menudo without the tripe (i hate to admit it, but i like it this way sad.png )

like tequila shot with salt and lime (it ruins the taste of of the tequila, one drinks good tequila neat, like a good scotch)

like tacos with sour cream (<deleted>?!!)

refried beans without using lard to re-fry them (its just not the same)

    dam_n I'm getting hungry again sad.png

  4. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will soon have to make a judgment call on whether to shuffle her Cabinet in order to keep her allies happy.

How can Khun Avudh write this with a straight face and publish it when the following is included in the same article?

A number of allies and MPs in the coalition alliance reportedly flew to meet Thaksin in London.

Not such a tough call if you're not making the decisions

  5. as you mentioned, its the same in europe, as it is in the states.

    Elsewhere too, i image.

Loads of youth, both male and female gravitate to the cities,

or where ever there is opportunity, perceived or real.

    The more things change,

the more they stay the same :)

I'm still figuring this place out

but i like just about everything so far

except the heat and the damned volkwagon sized mosquitos!

  6. Something is wrong with this thread.

I think because i havent read the word "amercian" once in reference to a gun topic! :D

so i'll lay in my 2 cents

I think restrictive gun laws would save lives

but i like to shoot trap and target

So i'm glad whichever side is winning.

The arguing is what i dont like.

Is there a trap or skeet range in TL?

and what does a o/u 12 guage, say a citori, cost in TL

    generally that is.

  7. Farangme, thanks for the heads up on the outlets. Yep, I figured, but its good to have first hand intel before venturing in.

Actually thank you all for you willingness to help.

Are there any proshops or stores here in LOS that has a decent prices at all. If so, where? If not, where do you get balls, gloves, ect?

Ive hit burners before, i like them. I've hit Hogan Apex with steel shafts, as in one of the initial posts and liked them, so that may be an option for me. And I like my 3iron for overhanging branch situations. Depending on the course, i generally hit bogey golf or better, with a bad hole or two per round. I could hit a better handicap if i wanted to, but then it wouldnt be fun would it? :D

Lastly, on the courses i saw, most used carts. Are there courses that you can walk with reasonable green fees? Yes i know walking in TL is tough, but i'm walking 5K to 10K several times a week already, altho not with a bag on my back, and hitting that dam_n ball 85+ times.laugh.png

  8. Vegemite on toast with a fried egg on top. The vegemite is Better than slashing maggi all over it

Wait, i dont even know of any assie that like vegemite!

but I only know some americanized aussies.

    To answer the question.... Pizza!

but i'm sure someone already mentioned that.

    Opps, freudian typo :)

just kidding. ameraicans generally like aussies, kiwis, canucks, and even brits and our friends over on the emerald isles.

we generally like everyone,,,,, except the dutch. :D
