You may be the OP hasn’t said that he is, in fact if you read carefully it would only be gravity feed when there is a power cut.

You clearly have a poor understanding of the possibilities of plumbing if you think that having a high level tank means that you can’t/shouldn’t  also have a pump and that that the supply pipe size and routing is only relevant with a pumped system.

The larger diameter pipes and smooth routing are far more important when there is no power. Pumped or not makes a difference to the losses but they are usually only noticed when there is no pump.

If your system was supposed to be pure gravity feed then your supply pipes should have been better designed and sized.

Mr STWW is of course correct in that if you can maintain 0.8 Bar at the shower head then you can have a reasonable shower… provided of course you use a suitable shower head.

Think of the UK system where the head tank in the loft sits on top of the hot water tank.

  2. Erachon turned out to be 1500thb weekday and 2200thb at the weekend. That was for the rooms ‘up top’. The rafts were 3900thb weekday and 4900thb weekend!!  The food was ‘sort of very average’.

Srinakarin Dam course turned out to be very dry … normally it is quite reasonable. I suppose for 1500thb for the two of us … shared buggy … shouldn’t complain. At the weekend non-thai GF is 600thb, Thai fee remains at 100thb.

Grand Prix course was in great condition so played it three times … accommodation good BUT the food only average so only stayed two nights. Checked out a day early and went to Good Times Resort. There was a group of golfers from Hau Hin also staying there.

Played Mida a couple of times. Some fairways were a bit long and your ball could disappear from view! Quite dry and greens needed cutting somewhat.

Drove home yesterday and played Muang Ake today. The course was in very nice condition, best state that we have seen it since the upgrade. … we both walked it, something we haven’t done for a little while … ache now!

  3.  Esso say that their  Supreme Plus diesel Synergy is their Premium Diesel and it is B7. Shell have their V-Power B7 at a similar price to Esso Supreme Plus so is that a Premium Diesel also?

If I use Shell, I normally us their Fuel Save B7, Today it was 29.59thb/lte and their V-Power B7 36.04 ... approx 1480 thb v 1802thb for 50ltrs. I think Fuel Save B7 and V-Power B7 is the same fuel but the V-Power has additives.  We have a 2015 3.2Lt Everest.

Many say run a tank full of V-Power through the system now and again. Can't hurt.....

  4. I have a Bangkok Bank Credit card and yes they have locked some money away.

If I know that I have a big bill to pay I can load the card Also on one occasion they allowed me to pay a bill above the amount locked away.

I always pay off the full amount each month.

Recently Citi Bank have given me a Credit Card and have not asked for money to be locked away… I do not have a work permit. They just ask that I pay the full amount off every month.. they gave a limit of 160,000thb

I recall that James Hunt upset a fair few of his contemporaries at the time. Probably needed to have that ability to get anywhere close to Lauda, another driver who did things 'differently'.

Russell has to catch up with Hamilton before he can think about gunning for Verstappen.

PS: It was Latifi's crash that undid Hamilton's most important race. That and another no-show by Bottas so your ace didn't have a wingman like Pérez was for Verstappen.

And who helped Latifi into the barriers….

IMHO it's sour grapes from Mercedes.

The race could of been red flagged and restarted anyway.

They should be celebrating the constructors.

Yes, a strong case for Red Flag…then both could have restarted on new tyres.

MM gave in to Horner shouting down the phone… just before the end of the Safety Car… LH deserved to win…

  7. Hamilton and Mercedes were robbed. MM needs to go and the rules need to be firmed up … especially to stop MV’s dangerous lunges.

And Schumacher, he shouldn’t be in F1. He should take over the mantle from crashstappen. And if I remember correctly his crashes have caused a load of lost points for LH.

LH will bounce back next year. What will come of Mercedes taking their protest to a higher level?

I suppose it makes them look and feel Macho to ride in a Truck that they probably have never owned or driven before coming here.

Actually we had an Isuzu V-Cross for three years, one of the very first. Found it to be very useful.. would carry four sets of golf clubs, four people and their luggage. Did put an electrically operated cover on the rear … worth considering.

Also very useful for collecting equipment/ building materials for DIY around the house etc.

And it was quite quick! Service was cheap and I can understand why many have a PU for everyday use.

Sling a bag of cement in the back and the ride was much better.

Looking back maybe it didn’t have enough air bags for Thailand use …..

  10. I read about the ‘good offers’ in the Pattaya area!

You could consider a trip to Kanchanaburi to play. Take you wife, gf or even a coin operated friend. Leave them in a hotel and off to the golf course you go.

MrsJ and myself are off there next week, for a couple of weeks, but back th BK before the New Year madness.

Mida is 899 all in (18 holes) AND after that you just pay the caddy fee to play as many holes as you like.

Srinakarin Dam is (over 60) GF 100 for Thai and 400 for non Thai. 300 for caddy and I think 400 for GC (but can walk it) Could stay Erachon Raft Resort is around 1700. Or drive the 70kms from Kanch.

Grand Prix is 1500 all in and 1000 to stay (for two).

In Kanch we always stay at Good Times Resort… book direct… but there are many places to choose.

    Just a thought……

  11. Well there is no doubt that MV is quick. But he is a dirty driver… reminds me of when MS took out Damon Hill to stop him winning a world championship.

And this season his son has caused a problem for LH by his crashes…

LH was correct when he commented’ ‘kin idiot’.

A big pity that LH doesn’t have even just one more point as no doubt MV will take them both out if he needs to in the final race ……

It was about time MV was pulled up for his antics….

Next year will be interesting as Russel will be mixing it with them…
