  1. A lesson for all of us! Why would anyone in a third world country go to a dentist or any other physician without doing any research? Do you take your motor car to the first mechanic you see? No you ask your mates who's is a good Mechanic.

This forum allows you to some of that research.

Lesson number one when traveling to any foreign country, before you have any medical care done, do some research!

If you need a good dentist, go to Dr. Bee she is educated in the USA and has been here for years. Her office is the orange coiored building just beyond Foodland on the left side as you travel towards Sukhumvit Road.

  2. If you declare the parcel as food it will fall under imported food and depending upon the commodity will be subject to a tariff ranging from 50% to 100% of the original value.

As others have stated the best way is in your luggage when you travel here. All international shipping companies require a bill of lading which is what the Customs official will look at and determine the tariff.

If your only getting one small item along with other non food items it may slip through. Good Luck

  3. I have lived here for 10 years, and have never had a problem with the local rates charged for transportation, I can go from central Pattya to jomtien for 20 baht and from Jomtien back to central patty for 10 baht, motor bike taxis cost a little more around central Pattya 40 baht and to Jomtien 60 baht, so why would anyone need a meter....Oh? you don't know the rates!

  4. Sir Paul your assumptions seem to be correct for the local Pattaya Police The only addition you might need on the backside is your visa stamp copy if one applies. The unknown factor of late is what will the Army boys require if they should detain you..I have Walking Shorts with Zip pocket and if i go to walking street I will take my actual passport.

  5. Your friend must of stayed on walking street, Pattya is far cheaper over all the The Phillipinnes, I have lived in both places , the only thing Cheap in the Phils is the Beer. 7k a night did that include is hotel room? if not he was had to be on walking street and eating in the 5 star cafes. I was out last night for my meal and drinks from 7pm until 12:30 am and I only spent 1300 baht and that was one stop in A go go included

  6. the process to make stainless steel gold is called anodizing, I have never seen it at any of the many Stainless steel fabricators in This country, but they order there raw stock from Bangkok, so there is a slim possibility that the manufacturer can do it, but it will be very costly

  7. I would try Bupa ,as on there website they do offer it. I checked and the website will allow you to apply online if your 70 or under, but I think if you contact there office on Sukimvit road they will sort you out.

The other thing to consider is getting via a credit card. and I think some airlines provide it at a fee

  8. Dan, T.. money exchange is usually the best at exchanging currencies. The are yellow in colour with black signage. They are all about Town especially on Soi Buakhao Second Road and Beach road.
