  1. If you rent you should be listed as residing in the property - if you have relatives/family/friends with a home register they will also normally provide this service. The house-book is just a listing of who resides at a location - it is not sponsorship.

I'a, not arguing with you..I'am telling you what they had to do.

  2. Are you asking about Thailand or elsewhere? There is free government healthcare in Thailand so most care is free or very inexpensive. If you are talking about using private hospitals in Thailand that can become expensive but there is seldom any reason to do so for a Thai other than to save time or status; as most of the best doctors work in the government sector. Sorry can not answer on insurance as most Thai do not use.

CORRECTION: Yes Thailand does have free healthcare but only within the area of where a person lives, so if a lady come to Pattaya and brings here kid here the only way she can get the healthcare transferred is to have a house book locally to provide the the healthcare section in Bang La Mueng. So she needs to own a home her in this province or she needs to find a homeowner who will sponsor her, or let here use the House book.

My girlfriend and her daughter went through this process last week

  3. Goo to the Bupa thailand website and put in her particulars and that will give you a good idea of what you will have to spend.

this would be coverage for a 9 year old.

  4. This is the first year of what will be a 3 to 4 year drought , which is being caused by the El Nino effect now on the Pacific. When the wet weather gets pushed to the north east of the Pacific it leaves most of Southeast Asia in a drought, same cycle occurred about 10 years ago. So this year might be ok but the coming years might be questionable. If the northern Part of Thailand is any type of guideline then we are already in trouble as numerous villages throughout Isaac are now using water which is being trucked into them and there reservoirs have been empty since last November/ December.

Last time Pattaya had a water problem it affected areas of the dark side and Jomtien. Knowing this country and how they are so good at planning ahead, I would say its safe to assume that sometime in the near future some of the city will have water problems.

And if they did have water problems they certainly won't tell the public the full truth as they don't want to scare away any potential tourists.

I keep a large plastic barrel in the shower area filled and covered just in case.

  5. find a nutrion shop that supplies the body builders with protein powders, just make sure they are made with egg whites and not the full egg to avoid the cholesterol. These powders can be the base of a nice flavourful sake which you can add any thing you like to make it tasty such as any fruit he may like, ice cream or his favourite juices. get a blender and have him do it with you...........There are usually ones near a gym , if your in Pattaya next to Tonys gym on third

  6. I just want to congratulate the police in solving a murder case on a foreigner 4 years after it happened.

It shows that there are some good investigators out there in the police force. Considering how much bad publicity they get these days we should acknowledge it when they solve serious crimes like this.

A crime was not solved she admitted to doing so, all the tourist police did was find a fugitive and it took 4 years, not very good policing to me

  7. "Quiet evening on beach road, business as usual" would be my title.

And read that one of the females insulted one of the LBs.

The LBs (!) reported the event to police.

The video is of poor quality and I can only guess that this female was a Thai wink.png who knew how to trigger trouble when feeling protected by their male friends.

If she did that alone the report would end different.

    I don't like LBs, I avoid them, I don't insult them, I "smell" them from 100 m, I smile and walk on.

Never got into trouble with them.

A Thai would never do that to a lady boy, you are completely wrong there, they were arabs , look at the skin color and facial hair

  8. Syrian Alla Mzeal, 30, was found walking near Soi 18 and Second Road on Feb. 25. He had overstayed 487 days.

So they are now stopping people at random in the streets ?

Nice and friendly, how many tourists were stopped before they

come up with this guy ? ( crime of the century ) coffee1.gif

It could be a bit like a Magic show.

You don't see what the other hand is up to. whistling.gif

So overstay 4 years is a soft crime then?

To me it shows complete contempt. Do it in Aus or USA and see if you get a slap on the wrist and told naughty boy

Well, for us that live in civilized contries and not in USA we obviously not understand how you think.

USA is a country that was invaded by immigrants in the first place and now they are afraid that immigrants will come to "their" country.

Overstay is not a big crime, and the people overstaying really doesn't hurt anyone else than themself. (If theyre not criminals obviously)

I would never want to go and always look behind my shoulder like they do. But thats their choise and if they get caught its no one to blame than themself.

    A crime, yes.

A serious crime and contempt? No. Only for americans.

And soon to be a crime in most of europe

  9. I have had the same plan for 4 years and have not had to use it until this year out of a 49,500 inpatient bill they covered all but 132 baht. I have 4 mates who use Bupa and they all have glowing reports. The best in Thailand by far!!!!!

Sorry if you mentioned earlier but which Bupa policy do you have and is it local or International?

Any reason why they did not cover the 132 baht as a 50k bill is not much in the overall scheme of things?

All Bupa policies issued here cover you internationally except in the USA.

The 132 Baht not covered was some additional meds i requested after the bill had been already approved and it was not worth my time to have then go through it again.

actually not. Platinum plan does but not the others as I recall. Of course Platinum is the only one worth getting anyhow as the other plans have absurdly low caps.

i don't have platinum and i have international coverage....

  10. at 43k it's a waste, save it up at that rate

43k per year.....usual heart attack cost 300000-400000. Around 7-10yrs uninsured 300000-400000. No thanks. World cover. I'll pay.

INCORRECT.....The average price to have a major heart problem done is 800,000. and if you have a heart problem and don't have enough saved?

  11. I have had a Bupa account similar to yours for 4 years now and I have had the occasion to use it 2 times, both times they covered everything but some medication all in all about 99% of the bis, no hassle whats so ever.

My girlfriend went in for an out patient procedure which we have no coverage for and they paid 100% of it , we were shocked.

I have no experience with the call centre.

I have several friends who have out and there experience3s have been great.

I have yet to hear a BAD STORY ABOUT THEM.

  12. Pupa is probably your best option as a policy with them will provide you coverage globally except in the USA. At your age you can get good coverage for less then a 1000 baht a month.

    www.bupa.co.th

its a wise decision to have it here as you never know, and its the un insured who eventually find them selves in a difficult spot.

  13. The aThai automobile industry countrywide keeps a very limited supply on hand, you will always see more available cars at a used car shop then a new one. The one thing I did learn a few years back is that there are some dealers on the out skirts of Bangkok with a larger selection but still not a huge one.

    You have two choices:

    A. Rent a car and cruise every car dealer from here to and including Bangkok until you find what you want.

    B. Find the car you might want on a second hand lot and take it for a test drive, once you are satisfied with all , the go to a dealer and place an order for what you want, it will take 2 to as many as 6 weeks.

    Good luck

  14. He sounds like a Friar Tucks sort of person.....

Never been there never would, I'm told the food is average. Stop attacking me for making a statement. As i have said many times , the location is a bad one, the food is just average, and there are numerous places that offer similar fare for almost half the price. This is my opinion based on some facts, which this forum allows me to do so.
