Shocking slump: Thailand’s premium EV sales plunge 35%
simon43 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I was talking to one of my online students in Hong Kong. He was sitting in a restaurant because he and family had to stay for 2 hours in the shopping mall while the family EV was recharging.... Why didn't you recharge the car before you came out? I asked. There is no EV charging at home - they live in a high-rise condo and the only EV charging is at the shopping mall and garages....- 226 replies

No insults - you fall into the physically-disabled category. But I expect you to walk to/from the shops after the stitches are taken out! 🙂

I think Profino Suit is still there, and I endorse your comments about the quality. I used to have collar shirts made by them. Being 'Old Skool British, I insisted on wearing button-down collar shirts, preferably with a tie, except of course when on the beach 🙂
... Ber sure to have emergency contact information prominently displayed in your wallet and that these people know you are covered under SS, and which is your registered hospital. ...
I have a custom dog-tag that I wear all the time. On one side it has my personal details, passport #, blood group, next of kin phone number. On the reverse side it has "I have medical insurance" printed in English, Thai, Lao and Burmese languages.

I always used to stay at the Nana Hotel when I was flying back and forth from the UK in 2002 and the next few years. Always friendly staff, guest rooms acceptable, close to shopping, Skytrain, breakfast was excellent and a nice place to people-watch my fellow guests. Always interesting to see the few very elderly men sitting in the lobby who seemed to be part of the furniture. Nana Hotel, what's not to like? 🙂

What's with all this online delivery? Are you physically-disabled? Have you no time in your life to visit a shop in person? How about of bit of exercise? I have a car, but I always walk the 1 or 2 km to the shops every day. Can't believe how lazy some people are 🙂

Health Insurance Refused Because I Take Statins.
simon43 replied to Jumbo1968's topic in Health and Medicine
Absolutely! And be careful of disclosing that annual medical check-up, because unscrupulous insurers could claim that you had the check-up because you suspected a health issue! I never go to a mainstream hospital for tests etc, because I do not want that information recorded in my medical history, even if the results are all good. Insurance companies can exclude pre-existing conditions which are specific, such as the BPH that I have (slightly enlarged prostate). But diabetes and high blood pressure can lead to a whole range of illnesses, whereas my BPH can really only lead to an ability to pee, UTIs etc. I guess insurance companies love to provide insurance for those with diabetes or high blood pressure, because they can exclude those conditions from cover, (or charge a premium), AND they can then also deny any subsequent claim for cover if you go down with a medical condition that has only the slightest relationship to your high blood pressure etc. -
Health Insurance Refused Because I Take Statins.
simon43 replied to Jumbo1968's topic in Health and Medicine
Perhaps the moral of all this is to look after your health so that you do not have high blood pressure, or take statins or have diabetes or have high cholesterol... because any of those conditions is a 'get-out' clause to deny almost any claim that you make on your medical insurance. Insurance companies don't really want to insure 'unhealthy' people - why should they?. -
Nope, did you not know that wearing a rubber glove gives the sensation that it's someone else's hand? 🙂 Common knowledge I thought!

I'm 65 years old, no problems getting an erection, but zero interest <deleted> a woman (or man!). Why? Because the woman is either doing the act as part of her job (a bar-girl). Or she is doing the act because she is in the long game and only after what little money I have. No woman is actually going to 'love' a 65 year old man and the sexual satisfaction I would gain from <deleted> in the above 2 scenarios is minimal. Franky, I'd rather spend the money on a decent meal for myself, a pair of rubber gloves and some baby lotion 🙂

Rescue After 3 Days: Elderly Man Freed from Bathroom Ordeal
simon43 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Over the past few years, several well-known members of south-east Asian forums have died after slipping in the bathroom and hitting their head. They were not elderly..... Knowing of these accidents, I always hold onto a firm surface when using the shower etc. I don't want to become one of those statistics. -
Unidentified respiratory illness in Bangkok, what is it?
simon43 replied to rabas's topic in Health and Medicine
Could it be that this is a new variant of Covid that is not detected by the current ATK tests? You say 'no sign of bacterial infection' which makes sense since Covid is a virus. -
Nothing to do with Thailand - just an interesting thought about family memories: - My grandfather was 19 years old when Queen Victoria died - My father was born during World War 1 - I expect my kids (born around the turn of the last century), will start families around 2040... All this is the result of starting families later in life, typically around 40-45 years old. How about you? Does your grandfather remember chatting with Lord Nelson? 🙂
