  1. "Yes I was unable to travel all those years, hospital only gave me a letter for my embassy when I needed a new passport and needed to travel to BKK for that. Thanks to this letter I was issued with a 1 year passport by our consul

A "one year passport" is usually a restricted document good for a one way trip home !

    No its not !

It is a normal passport without bio-metric fingerprints.

1."British nationals, as well as unrepresented European Union and Commonwealth citizens, who need to travel urgently and whose passport has expired, been lost or been stolen can be issued with a British emergency passport by a British foreign mission"

2.The emergency passport can be used to make a single or return journey to the UK or another country of residence, via a maximum of five transit countries.

The emergency passport is issued with a validity which is limited to the shortest time appropriate to the holder’s travel requirements whilst taking account of the transit and destination country requirements (for example, many countries require travel documents to have a minimum validity of six months).
Standard stuff for most Western Nations.

  3. "I have a non-imm-o 1 year visa based on marriage. until now I only had to show up at the immigration and make my 90 day report"

Are you sure you have visa which allows a one year entry ? Normally if you have a "one year visa" it only allows 90 day entries.

I would help if you could say what your visa actually says and its use by/enter by date to together with what the entry stamp you received says (permit to stay until .............)

  4. It would be better to get another single entry non-o than a tourist visa. You would pay 1000 baht for tourist visa and then 2000 baht for the conversion. Edit: No funds are needed anywhere for a single entry O.

Many thanks for the info. one last question.

as i do now already have a single re-entry visa do I first need to use that one. i mean cross border once, let's say thi-lao boarder, and then go back to lao andapply for a single entry o? or can i just to with my single re-entry visa to lao to the thai embassy and ask for a single non-imm o?

If indeed you have a re-entry permit it will only allow a return up to your permit to stay date !

Do as is suggested by Ubonjoe

  5. To obtain a single entry visa(good for 90 days) should be easy with a letter from the company.

Forget about working as a "self employed" individual. Attempting follow this path will be difficult if not impossible.

You will/must be an employee of the Company.

All documentation associated with obtaining a WP and extension of stay (or multi entry visa) MUST be generated by the Company.

Be aware that many small/medium Thai businesses will be reluctant to undertake the work involved.

  6. I worked in the KSA for longer than I care to remember !

In those days Saudi nationals were not allowed to book direct fights to Thailand.

What they did was fly to one of the Gulf States then book flights to BKK.

I never heard of any repercussions resulting from a Saudi having Thai stamps in a passport.

I did, however, hear of Saudi "behaviour" in and around Soi 3-4 and Nana Plaza!
