  1. You will also need to take have a residency certificate from immigration @ Jomtien, (or work/education permit), & copy of passport pages to change book to your name.

For res/cert need proof of address (i.e., rent contract, utility bill), head photos, copy of passport pages, ~300baht.

It may be more convenient to use the land transport office near Reagents school rather than drive clear to Chonburi office.

Most convenient would be to use an agent in town.

That could save a lot of time & effort.

The shop slightly north of Father Ray's orphanage on Sukumvit can do it, including the needed emissions/safety check.

I recommend this unless you are up for adventure.

PM me if you're still confused.

How about a photo of the bike of interest?

Do I still Need this if I already have a drivers license? Sounds like same procedure I went through to get a license.

  2. OnMyWay2, you will need;

    1. A photocopy of the Thai ID of the current owner which is same as the one stated in the green book.

    2. Authorization Form from the Internet or DLT for the owner stated in the green book to authorize you/someone to act on behalf.

    3. Fill in another form "Request Form" to request a replacement number plate. (you will get same number)

    4. At the same time, might as well change the ownership while you are at land transport department by adding another form which is change of ownership form.

You will also need the owner signatures on 1,2 & 4 as stated above.

By the way, is the tax on the scooter up to date/active? If not paid for longer than 3 years, you will need to back pay the tax it owe and have to re-register again get a new number plate.

    Where about are you located?

Thanks I'm in Pattaya. You wouldn't happen to have the link to the online forms I need would you?

Also I have no idea about the paid taxes or validity of the green book any way to find out?

  3. Reply to post 48. You are probably right, I only saw eggs and bacon in the warmers. There was no visible egg/omelet station like many other buffets. There is different prices for an American breakfast and a buffet on their website, if it is current, who knows. I asked for a menu but the waitress said they didn't have one, what I saw didn't look appealing to me so I kept on walking. I will go back and try again.

Yeah try some of the non traditional dishes. Some are hidden like the fruit salad and coconut cookies. Personal favorite is the hunk of blu cheese and the cold bacon or whatever that is. They have the heart attack station too where you can get fried bacon and eggs, it's around the corner.

  4. OK yeah I probably goofed but I liked this scooter and it was super cheap. Bought it from a Thai person who I kind of know then realized it has no plates...

So what woulf the easiest way to drive this thing without getting hassled?

I would rather have full ownership but it might not be worth the hassle. I honestly don't even care if it's legally in the previous owners name.

  5. it's hilarious that they still set up about 400 umbrella chairs every morning like someone is going to relax there and enjoy the beach.

Or maybe relax and have a drink with the jet ski mafia.

  6. The biggest challenge is finding one thats clean.

Street gyros are tasty if you don't mind being sick the next day,

I had a good experience with the Sharma in the food court at Central Festival.

not the basement food court but the one on the 5th floor on the ocean side.

not the best but it was kind of tasty last time I tried it. Sauces were good.

  7. I do like Thailand but maybe there should be a dedicated bashing thread because there are some legitimate complaints that aren't so obvious at first. People are friendly but sometimes I miss folks just minding their own business. I guess super friendly can get tiresome after a while. Sometimes I like to walk and mind my own business but feel like I offend people if I don't notice them with a huge grin on my face :D.

That's my complaint now bracing myself for all the "friendly" people telling me I should go home.

  8. Any breakfast buffet will do. There's one at the hotel formerly known as Diana Inn on 2nd road and soi Diana.

They have cereal, french toast, pretty sure they have home fries too.

Any breakfast buffet will not do, there are breakfast buffets and then there are breakfast buffets, that's why people are recommending Casa Pascal's. The Amari, Tavern by the Sea serves a buffet (250 baht) on Sunday morning that is quite frankly lousy.
Well I think we need to define American breakfast, for me it consists of pancakes, cereal and fresh fruit. Doesn't need to be fancy preferably fast though. :)

I've been to Casa Pascal not for breakfast though.
