She was at a hospital, but she was experiencing breathing problems so they transferred her to another hospital? The first hospital can't treat breathing problems so they take the risk of transporting her...
She was at Thalang Hospital. I would be very disappointed with my GP if he would not do a better job at almost everything than they do at Thalang Hospital. So even taking a risk into account it sounds like a good decision to me to move her.
I'm guessing that Thalang is a government hospital. Please correct me if I am wrong. It has been my experience that, for the most part, if the problem is more complex than setting a bone or delivering a baby (without complications), government hospitals should be avoided. Their diagnostic skills leave a lot to be desired.

And that railway currently has only one train per day, in each direction.
And probably only 1 track, 1 meter wide. The reason for only one train a day in each direction.
Come on Thailand, how long is it going to take to join the real world??? Get with the program! 2 sets of tracks, 1.5 (approx.) meters wide

i guess they don't want to waste anymore artillery or anti-aircraft shells executing people?
Please help me understand. Why would anyone use anti-aircraft shells to execute a couple of prisoners?
How could a couple of bullets to the head possibly be more expensive than the cost of food, clothing and prison for the rest of these prisoner's lives??
-
And what about the local "doctors" who treat people every day for colds and fever and are not asking all the questions necessary to insure that the patient does not have MERS??
-
If you take the time to think about all the things that would make you want to move, I'm sure that you will be able to come up with several ways to make your tenant's continued use of your property a living hell. It is possible that you could make living there so inhospitable the he will pack his bags and leave of his own accord.

How is a Thai lawyer going to help, a suitcase full of cash and dropping names of his Thai connections wont help him in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Maybe he will plead insanity, or mental retardation.

"An elderly man who could easily be forgetful' He's only 60 years of age, if that's 'elderly' in this day and age I must be positively ancient. Forgot my arse!
What Toknarok said, Plus 1.

""There is some problem in finding qualified personnel to inspect the certificates, which will lead to a delay in the new round of examination of the air operators' certificates," he explained." Really what he is saying is that there is a problem finding qualified people inThailand, once again ignoring any possibility of hiring outside to cocoon.
Not so. "The Transport Ministry will hire certified foreign personnel to make up for the shortage of domestic inspectors, said the minister."
It helps to read the entire article before posting.
Hopefully the foreign help will be from farang land. (good English skills and the ability to think and solve problems)

Long way to go before it gets into negative, so nothing to worry about.
90-109 is average or normal intelligence.
80-89 in considered Dullness.
I have seen a lot of rural kids in the 80-89 catagory. The lights are on but nobody is home. A real shame.

Far too many cases of sheer exploitation of people's distress is becoming a legend in Phuket. It is now one of the main topics of discussion on social occasions - bringing a very bad name to the medical profession and Thailand. One recent case - a worried couple were charged 4,500 baht by the small clinic at Laguna (canal village) for five-minute "treatment" of a young child who had been stung by a jelly fish on the beach at the Outrigger resort. The parents told everyone that the shock of the bill was almost as much as the incident on the beach
Phuket's hospitals are now all owned by the same company, bar the Government Vachira aka 'The Slaughterhouse' and small and tatty 'semi private' Mission. So 'an anti monopoly commission should be set up here. On the plus side, when they tried to charge the same prices as their main Bankok Hospital at their newly acquired Siriroj Hospital, they were market forced to lessen the prices again. BH 2,000 baht for an x-ray, Siriroj - 700 baht. I also hear from a previous member of staff at Siriroj that quality of care has weakened due to 'selfishness' resulting from their new owners attitude to health care. Money making only. Bangkok Hospital on Phuket is widely known as a 'mill'. I wouldn't go back there if they paid me.
Not knowing it is a "mill", I took my Thai partner there because 3 other hospitals and several clinics could not figure out what was wrong with her. After a 5 hour trip, two nights in a hotel, 12 hours in the hospital seeing 3 different doctors, an MRI and parting with over 28,000 baht, no diagnosis, no help, no clue. Talk about pissed! Like you, dageurreotype, I will never go there again.
Deos anyone know about Bangkok hospital in Bangkok??

If PM and his cohorts stopped making stupid statements the media might not ask stupid questions. Thats assuming the PM would understand something sensible!
I really doubt this statement. Every country that has a modicum of media freedom has media people who ask stupid questions. Even the American presidental press corps folks sometimes get carried away and ask really dumb questions, over and over again. Some people say, "Asked and answered", other times it's, "no comment", but some press people keep asking anyway. Methinks that some press people just like to hear themselves talk. Like they have something important to say.
-
i wouldn't talk to her if you paid me $2,700 - but then again, I'm English and don't like or trust any politicians.
Ditto! And I'm American.

"They committed the crime out of recklessness after drinking alcohol,"
No, they committed the crime because they are drunken teenagers with low IQ.
-
Why not? This is so very much more important than getting rid of corrupt police and reforming the education system so the decreasing IQs can be stopped.
If the really important things are not fixed, the world will start thinking that LOS means Land Of Stupid. Probably not something Thais will appreciate.
-
I think it's a good thing.
Young Thai males are seriously lacking discipline, I'm not sure what can be done to improve it though, except making really bad things happen to them when they don't follow the law.
Just a suggestion: Automattically enlist every racer that is caught into the army for two years. Kill two birds with one stone.

I don't run, but I walk. It used to be that I was always bothered by soi dogs. At first, I carried a switchblade which I would show to them. This worked quite well but I was not completly comfortable with it. Then I made a thin walking stick which I can swish really fast wile looking right at the dog(s). This always does the trick. I also carry a couple of small stones in my pocket, about the size of an American quarter. I throw them at aggressive dogs and they always run away.
Good luck to you.

"The man then reportedly fainted while he was waiting to pay for his treatment."
Poor guy. Complained of chest pain and the clinic was more interested in collecting their fee from the farang than actually giving him an examination. Maybe the clinic should be equipped with a defibrillator.
A defibrillator? Lucky if they're was a competent doctor or qualified one on duty.
I can guess which clinic this is, and I know that a qualified doctor is only available a very limited number of hours per day. I assume that he had been treated as payment is made after treatment.
I won't offer a guess as to what clinic it might be, but I can suggest that the clinic be held responsible for the man's death and shut down pending investication. There are many incompitent doctors, nurses, etc in Thailand who purchased their degree. I know because I have been mis-diagnosed by a few. Even the ones who went to most of their classes are part of the idiotic "no-fail" Thai education system. The only Thai doctors that I trust are those who have studied outside of Thailand and have learned how to diagnose (requires knowing how to think).

I live on Samui and started out with AIS (TOT). It was horrible. Switched to True 18/1.8 about a year ago. I love it. Streaming video from America, no problem. More reliable than PEA.

"Earlier Leicester City had released a statement saying: “We take the conduct of our players at every level extremely seriously and will take appropriate action, if necessary, once the full facts of the situation have been established. Pending the outcome of an internal investigation the club will make no further comment.”
Why should anyone believe you??
Prove it!

Apologists please enter your pleas now.
Alright, I'll take up that banner.
No-one who has made a comment so far has mentioned that:
a ) the word alleged is used throughout
b ) they have been arrested, and it wasn't even mentioned that they were charged as yet, let alone convicted.
Forget berating the apologists, and calm the hang-em high brigade until someone is convicted. Isn't the right of people here to face a trial first?
Thanks
TL
My answer is NO! TIT. People in Thailand get away with MURDER, RAPE, etc. There does not seem to be such a thing as justice in this country. So, based on the info in this news report, I say hire a professional sniper and get the job done correctly and NOW.

Hope he gets what he deserves
I would suggest keelhauling.

More Christian faith and family values from the republicans
In America this is very big problem with Teachers of all kinds
Maybe we have to change the standards for Teachers or put these people in Jail for life
You do not read Garbage Collectors during this terrible act
Openly gay teachers are not the ones who present the problem. It's the closeted ones who pretend that they are not gay and who would readily agree with you.
How do you known Hastert was not opening gay when he was teacher
The Janitor and Kitchen knew do no tell me teachers are so dumb and did not to know
the Crime for sleeping with students under 18 should be death
That way it will stop
While it is true that death would stop one perp at a time, I would prefer that they be allowed to live, minus their member. Oh the shame of it.

Director-General of the Employment Department Sumet Mahosot seems like a smart person. What I get from his statement is: Hey, you have problems finding workers?? Clean up your act. Stop treating them and paying them like they are scum. A decent wage along with reasonable working conditions will result in good loyal workers. Cannot do that?? You don't deserve to stay in business.

>>Somchai said after the hearing that he was confident of proving his innocence and had some 60 witnesses who could testify in the case.
Suchart said he had 180 witnesses, mostly police who took part in the crackdown, ready to testify in the case.<< Quote
No doubt the best witnesses that money and fear can buy...................
No different than Yingluk. The all proclaim their innocence. Probably because, in their heart of hearts, they truly believe that lying, cheating, stealing from those less fortunate is perfectly OK. Must be part of their "Thainess".
Thailand to upgrade fleet, chooses Chinese to provide three submarines
in Thailand News

Yes, and the Chinese will make sure that there are tracking devices installed in all three subs so the Chinese Navy will know where these subs are, 24/7/365.
