Is anyone else applying for a Non B visa to work as an English teacher?
By Rideronthestorm, 23 hours ago in Thai visas, residency and work permits
Answer to your question is, probably. They might answer later or not answer at all.
Hope you get the information you are looking for.

Statute of Limitations would probably sink this before it sailed.

Many of the people who have died due to Covid19 had little control over their fate.
But many possibly did have.
Bad lifestyle choices, (drinking too much and excessive smoking or substance abuse, to name but a few) and bad nutritional choices are recognized as main contributors to the rise in chronic illnesses in most developed countries. The abundance of junk-food franchise restaurants and take-aways in the USA is evidence to support the fact that a very large number of USA citizens are obese, and many are recognized as being morbidly so. It is also no secret that drugs of all shapes and hues can be had on any street corner in major cities. Not to even mention, the prescription drug abuse that is pervasive in that society.
So, even if a large portion of this group inherited their susceptibility to one of the main causes of premature death, for the reasons I mentioned in the first paragraph did they really have so little control of their fate?

So these three female Filipino teachers required covid tests + $USD 100,000 insurance in order to fly into Thailand?
That would be nice to know.

If anyone can provide me with evidence of any country that has banned road driving, banned pedestrians walking near roads or asked everyone on or near the roads to wear a set if armor just in case I would very much appreciate it.
Somebody is soon gonna tell you the above are not contagious, while conveniently forgetting that the whole lock-down mania, with all it has cost the taxpayer, was to prevent infections and the overwhelming of the healthcare system. If as much time, effort and money was spent on preventing road deaths, the figure you quote above will surely look much better. So, yes, you can sometimes compare apples with pears.

And after jumping through all the hoops there's the small problem of getting a flight to Thailand.
I don't even want to think about how much additional stress that will add to the exercise.
Without wanting to make light of the O P'S health issue, I would have serious mental problems by the time I enter Thailand just from the stress of co-ordinating and successfully completing all that is needed before I am able to board a flight to Thailand.

To think, just a few months ago we had the USA as the global economic powerhouse, and China and India fighting it out to take their title. China has a clear run to the finish line now, despite the virus coming from their own doorstep. It's hard not to be suspicious.
That's the secret with any new invention. Once you have perfected it, you sell it off and let the new owners run with it. Then you sit back and enjoy the return on your sweat equity while the new owners sit with all the problems. Who wouldn't want to do that.

One of the funny things in life, this.
The more they test, the more chances of finding the infected. Up to 40,000,000 as at 27th August. Big jump from 17,000,00 as at 27th July. July 1st they had tested only 9,000,000

Their curve is on the rise, but like all epidemics of this type it will most likely follow gompertz distribution curve that these epidemics are following and will go down. Since India is so large things will probably go longer and be more like the US as things spread to new areas and the epidemic runs it's course in each successive one. It's interesting to see how these types of epidemics work differently in temperate and tropical environments. Places, with weaker nutrition, more poverty and less robust health care systems will have it worse.
Thanks for this. Learned something new today.

In other words... this week the CDC quietly updated the Covid number to admit that only 6% of all the 153,504 American deaths recorded actually died from Covid. That's 9,210 deaths that are confirmed to have died from Covid. Hardly an Emergency, hardly a disaster and certainly not a Pandemic. The other 94% had 2 to 3 other serious illnesses and the overwhelming majority were of very advanced age; 90% in nursing homes. See Table 2. Comorbidities...

Yep! And from this we can deduce that interpretation of statistical data was not a required subject for any of the CDC expert while academically qualifying themselves for the positions they hold, and get well remunerated for, I'm sure.

"allegedly kills"?
Is she allegedly dead and resurrection likely, or really dead?
Yep! And I am wondering about the use of the word "allegedly". "Man accidentally kills mum in brawl with wife" might have been more accurate. Or is the word "allegedly" required because he has not been formally charged in a court of law?Even so, it's problematical. Reminds me of an earlier post on this forum about a toilet flush on an airplane revealing the Covid-19 status of a passenger. Word usage led me to think that the inanimate object was suddenly imbued with life.

Covid-19 as a contributing factor cause of death is not in dispute at all. Could just as well have been normal seasonal flu that was the final nail in the coffin, or pneumonia. So, yes it is old news.
What is vitally important about this information, however, and what is not old news, is that it serves to highlight which sections of the population should have been targeted for protection much earlier on. And where financial and human assets should have been employed.
And even more importantly, how information was used by people the public trusted to manipulate public opinion. And remember, these are all "experts" of one kind or the other.
This begs the question: Would the American people have accepted the restrictions on their freedoms if they
had this information from the start?. And will the continue to accept them?

Maybe airlines just trying to put a bit of pressure onto certain parties to re-think their decisions.

‘may take time’
Yes, until they realize that there is no interest or demand for this attempt. More mulling to follow in coming weeks.
For heaven's sake! These people have been sitting twiddling their thumbs for 5 months, and getting paid in full. They had more than enough time to look at different tourism scenarios and work out the details.
If the feared 2nd wave is anything like the 1st wave, it's going to be very difficult to actually determine either that it is real or whether it has arrived at all. All that uncertainty is going to be manna from heaven for the keep Thailand closed brigade.

The new joke of the day was to read about submarines... (but electricity cut every rainy days and every windy days). Looks like they don't know what priority and logic are meaning.
The bad joke of the week was the dirty idea for human's respect to imagine a kind of "tourism jail tour", like if people (tourists) will go to see animals in a zoo ? I think not only farang will be outraged by this kind of tourism, also Thai people themselves and everyone psychologically healthy. Actually in the world, the zoo is already something in question about morality...
Ho... you should also observe quickly (a scoop for you guys) that the COVID pandemic is soon totally finish. The asymptomatic people tested will never die and the virus power is close to a little flu. Sorry for big Pharma company's ambition to get big money back from imposed vaccine by force, but... the plan failed.
Not finished. Work in progress.

In all fairness to the government , when people give wrong names, wrong phone numbers and wrong other contact details to get round the system, you cannot really blame the government.
And track and trace means diddly squat because by the time the person shows symptoms,is tested and found positive many days would have passed, making this programme impractical and impossible to administer. And where on earth is the government going to get the money and manpower to make this work?

"and what will happen if there is an outbreak in a school, as some other countries have seen"
So, what will happen if there is an outbreak? As kids are not very badly affected by this virus, why is this an issue for the schools?
It might place the teachers at some risk, but them just following the government's health and safety protocols should keep them protected.
However, It will increase the chances of kids becoming infected at school and then transporting the virus into their inner family circle where there may well be vulnerable members. Here again there are health and safety protocols to be observed.
Are the teachers not just, perhaps, all too happy to continue staying at home and delivering sub-standard education while still receiving full pay and benefits?
Also, with the weather in the UK slowly edging to cold and miserable, who wouldn't rather stay at home than have to trundle off to work?

912 in total from the. 632,000 the previous year.
I rest my case, almost.
If all the different ministries don't sit around a table and plan effectively nothing is going to improve.
Covid crisis committee, Foreign Affairs, ACT, TAT etc. etc need get together in one room andthrash out a workable plan and implement it.
X department is saying it is ready but waiting on Y department or Z department. And so they pass the buck around.
I am sure that the Prime Minister would be able to sort this out in a morning. Perhaps that is what is needed.

Would be interesting to see follow-up information on all those testing positive when going into quarantine. How many had to be hospitalized, how many remained asymptomatic and had to in stay in quarantine after the initial 14 days, how many tested positive on arrival and left quarantine after subsequent testing came up with negative results.
Anyone aware of this information being available?

So, the question remains: Did any passengers disembark? Who knows?
