  1. Newsflash: Europe is way worse off than Thailand in terms of future.

    - Hidden poverty that could lead to civil war:

Spanish women are now so poor that they resort to sell their hair which is unheard of.

French butchers are regularly victims of arm robberies, people are just hungry they rob butcheries instead of banks.

In England women cannot afford sanitary pads and tampons anymore and use newspapers instead.

Sales of cat/dog food are plummeting people cannot just afford petfood anymore.

    - Banks are about to collapse: Signs such as

. negative interests - you now have to pay to keep you money in the bank, which is unheard of.

.Banks now refuse you to withdraw "big" amounts like 5000 Euros even if you have it,

500 Euros note was taken out yesterday to prevent people from using cash,

Like they did in Argentina and Greece, the banks will shut down and they will run away with our cash and mayhem, will follow.

    - Increased risk of Civil war because of Immigration which is still pouring in huge numbers

Sweden and Germany attitude is changing and despite the multiculturalism propaganda, people are vastly against it, especially after the Cologne and Ikea events.

Raise of right wings parties in Austria, UK Britain First, France National Front, Germany pegida etc

500 ISIS soldiers are now infiltrated in Europe ready to plan attack

    - 3rd world war is coming

Putin was clearly a CIA target with Panama Papers.

Missiles are in place in Europe all around Russia

Nuclear weapons are now in the hands of ISIS.

What a nut job. I do hope you do not place your life decisions on this.

  2. Hi Guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong section but I could not find an ideal place to post this.

I have just come back from Japan and now have a fairly decent knife collection which I would like to start keeping in a leather knife roll. I am not a chef but do enjoy cooking and so will probably end up with about 6 different knives ranging in size up to about 15 inches max.

I would like something a little special and that I can easily take with me when going out in my campervan in the UK, BBQ'ing etc. I find the magnetic bar I am using in my kitchen knocks the blades a lot and I am going to start keeping much sharper edges.

    My requirements are:

    • Softish leather / Not too bulky rolled up
    • Real leather of some sorts
    • Max of 6 - 8 knife slots (not too many I will never use)
    • Keeps knives fairly secure
    • Will last many years
    • Cost under 7000 TBH

I have found a number on eEsy but due to the Thailand Duty on importing leather goods (30%) and the VAT on the product and shipping! it adds a fair wack. The sellers are reluctant to send as a gift or state just the material costs also, so I am looking if I can either buy here in Thailand or have one custom made.

Can this be purchased in Thailand already made? Or failing that can anyone recommend / suggest a leather worker in Bangkok who could recreate something similar to the images I posted below. And if so how much I would be looking at for it?

  3. Why is something like this important? Misplace priorities, herded like kwai to believing and supporting something like this....

The thugs control this, why support it.. a public event....

Marketing, rip off, for what? This is not sport...coffee1.gif

Indeed what are you on about? Not a sport? This is the sweet science my friend..

I cannot wait for this clash, harps back to the good old days of boxing

  4. Hey Guys,

I am going to India for a vacation next week and a bit unsure how I go about getting INR. From what I read some people say INR is a closed currecny so only available in India? IS this true?

Will my Kbank Debit Card be OK to buy INR in India?

    Any help much appreciated,

    Cheers

  5. Hi Guys,

First of apologies if this is not allowed to be discussed, I am not 100% sure on legal standing here in LOS etc.

I was looking into the possibility of buy a half decent replica of a higher end watch, something in the region of 15000 - 30000 TBH. I do not much about watches but would like something that will last a good few years and is a well made piece.

MBK may be a bit daunting due to my lack of knowledge, but I have read about websites which deliver these. Again I imagine a mine field so thought I would see if anyone here could advise.

    Thanks

  6. Hi Guys,

My wife is a trailing spouse from UK who is fully RIBA qualified and has a lot of Architectural experience from back home. We are looking at long term plans one avenue to explore is the possibility of finding Architectural work in a practice here in Bangkok. We are aware the need for an expat architect is slim to none here in Thailand but thought it is worth looking into.

Does anyone know of anyone here in this capacity? Or where one could find such posts advertised?

    Thanks

  7. haha that's OK I fully understand. TBH I am not fussed about the iphone 6 but looking forward to wearable tech like the Apple Watch especially as it is the field I work in. If I could rely on 3rd party app development for android based smart watches I would just replace the screen on my S3 and go with a Gear or something but I know that once Apple release the watch it will completely dominate the smart watch market. I am not impressed the need for a recent phone to use it and completly agree it is a lot of money for what it is.

I have had an iphone before (3G) and I did enjoy it but also have been very impressed with my Galaxy S3. Another factor is that a comparable spec android phone is nearish the same price point as an iphone 6 (Galaxy S5 etc).

  8. Best spec phone for a great price is the new AIS Lava Pro 5" ..@4790 .. And u can use a 32gb SD card which is not possible with any Apple phone .. Also if you want a stylus pen and USB connectivity ..Apple neither ..then it is a Samsung Note 3 or latest 4 ..

Sounds great, I didn't realise they offered Apple Watch support. Do you have any links to info?

    Cheers

  9. 30,000 TB for a phone.....amazing...my 900 baht Nokia does all I need. I think you are trying to stay ahead of the crowd; maybe you should wait a month until a newer 40,000 baht phone comes out so you can squander your money on that piece of plastic which, by your track record, you are bound to break...

Happy that your 'piece' keeps you content. You are missing out on a smartphone assuming you have friends and family in your home country. Skype calls are a fraction of the cost, instant translation of Thai to English and vice versa, Sat Nav support in built, instant online banking, GPS Map with shared maps of BKK, email support, web browsing, portable media device, fitness tracking are to name but a few of the benefits over your legacy Nokia.

Due to my line of work I need a smart phone and as I stated the Apple Watch only works with recent Apple phones. I don't care about the crowd or being seen with Apple products and have been running my Samsung Galaxy S3 for years but it is giving up the ghost and so am in the market for a new smart phone. I do however care about technology and seek products that hold value as well as being well made with strong 3rd party application support.

  10. Hi Guys,

i am looking for somewhere I can get hold of A4 sheets of printable labels that could be then stuck onto brown paper bags / plastic food containers. Nothing fancy just the ones where you can print say 6 / 8 per A4 page from a standard Inkjet Printer. Need enough to make say 200 labels.

    Any help much appreciated,

    Cheers

  11. Ah sorry I do not know any more than that really, all I know is they had I think 3 or 4 different coloured bags of the pellets each with different numbers on them. The white ones I got stated 15-15-15. They are not in a retail packaging so no idea. I added about a teaspoon full worth to the surface of my larger 5L plant pots and after about a week it seems to have mainly broken down.

  12. Hi Guys,

I am keen on getting the Apple Watch when it is released and am in need of a mobile upgrade after breaking my Galaxy S3 screen for the 3rd time in so many years. I have replaced the screen myself with parts from ebay however am worried when I get the 30000 TBH iphone 6 Plus that if I break it that wont be so simple.

I am not sure if they really have this in Thailand but am looking for recommendations on where to get phone insurance mainly for accidental damage. I have home insurance with AXA but looking to renew soon so if there are good deals that include phone cover that could be an option too.

    Cheers

  13. Hi Guys,

I am trying to get my peppers going again this year on my balcony, super hots are coming on great. I read that spraying them with epson salts once a fortnight can keep them healthy along with a good feed on the alternate weeks.

Does anyone know where I can buy them here in Thailand? I am in Bangkok.

Secondly a quick question, I purchased some fertiliser pellets that are white and state 15-15-15 which seems acceptable for chillis. There are no instructions however so unsure how much, and how often to add them to my larger potted plants in 5L pots.

  14. Just a heads up that the threshold for repayments on UK SLC loans in Thailand is going from 9% over £10150 to 9% over £6940 in April 2015!!

So if you earn over 28114 TBH a month you are required to pay 9% opposed to the old 41117TBH threshold. Changes not advertised on the SLC site yet but I have been speaking to them as I was querying the large jump in payments outlined in my recent correspondence from April onwards.

God knows how they have come to this when prices are going up in Thailand.

  15. Hi Guys,

I will be in and out of the country over the next few years and so am looking for a way to keep my newly planted superhot chilli plants watered in my absence.

I am finding it hard to find any systems similar to the Hozelock Digital Timer:

    ac-water-timer-pro-2701_f_1_330_1.png?ac

All I can find is on Lazada one called Claber but it is more expensive and the review do not seem so good:

    image-097243-1-product.jpg

I cannot seem to find any of the watering kits with all the pieces to drip feed the plants either. I think in Watsadu I saw something similar but at the time was not looking for a wtering system so didn't really pay attention. I did find a system on http://th.prubuy.com but I am not sure if I will get slammed with import tax etc.

    1. Can anyone point me where I can buy a decent system here in Thailand, preferably online?
    2. Can anoyone point me to any of the drip system attachments etc?
