That Lot Number and Seriel Number are on my 16 week appointment form. My form says VC:ASTRA_2:AstraZeneca-vaccine. Guess a very good chance that it wasn't just salt water.

I was questioning due to the fact I don't want the Sinovac vaccine.

A serious question, how do you know it was the AZ vaccine? Were you told that or did you actually see the vaccine packaging?

Surely, the first question is "how deep is the pool"? I haven't been to ANY hotel in Thailand that has a pool more than 5ft deep? Was just thinking about all the 5*'s I have stayed in and NONE had a deep pool!

The second question, would therefore be "how tall were the deceased"?

Thanks for that. I am anticipating quite a few expenses, around GBP5k in total?

I am going down the "savings" route and have property in the UK, so hoping it should be an "easy ride"....we shall see!

Gotta be cheaper than paying the high school fees for 2 kids going forwards and as I'm getting an "older" git, NHS is always a bonus + get the Mrs a UK Passport, which will be useful for when I kick the bucket or become a dribbling wreck!

I just think there is more opportunity and stuff for the kids to develop in the UK. The eldest one (now 6) has been 5 times for 2-3 months at a time and she loves it. To be honest, being here for 12 years I'm ready for a change as well! Maybe come back here to retire one day!

Strange, it offers the test in Chiang Mai, but when you look for a booking, Chiang Mai is not an option, only Bangkok!?

Can someone just clarify a couple of points?

Prior to applying online for a UK settlement visa for my Thai wife, she must

1. Book and get a TB test done

2. Book and take A1 English test 

Asking as it will mean a trip to Bangkok (we are in CM) and would rather get them both done at the same time.

I am about to start the process of moving my family (Thai wife, 2 year old and 6 year old) to the UK. Both the kids have Thai and UK passports.

My wife has to book and have a test, but due to the fact my kids are British, I presume they don't need tests?

My wife and children have visited the UK every year up to Covid, looking forward to seeing how easy the "settlement" process is?

If anyone has any tips on the process would be appreciated.

I had a brand new one as a company car in the UK when they came out.

In the 1 year I had it, it needed a new gearbox, under warranty that took 2 months to get.

It's just not a very good car, the rotary engine is annoying, no power under 5000RPM, forever changing gear trying to stay in the power zone. The only time it's fun is when you are around the rev limiter at 9000RPM.

To me it's very fragile and can't take much abuse.

Next I had a Nissan 350Z which was in a different league both in terms of build quality and reliability!

I had a work colleague a few years ago who was given a company car from new, he NEVER changed the oil or serviced the car until we had to give it back to the lease company, it had 80,000 miles (128k km) on it!

Never had any issues with it!

I'll bite...which Ford Ranger, mileage, year and how much?

Just to re-inforce the fact that those saying only British citizens are entitled to a jab are wrong:

That is as clear as can be! Basically, ANYONE gets the Covid treatments/jabs!

Why do some people on here, suggest that we wouldn't get a free vaccination etc if we went back to the UK?

Correct. Did not do the footbrake thing or the depth of vision thing. 

When do they enforce the fines? I have a friend who has 3 outstanding speeding fines. Two fixed cameras and one mobile.

Sent to his home address with photo.

He hasn't paid them, but still taxed and tested his vehicle with no issues, months later.

All I get, is a blood pressure check and certificate issued. No colour tests.

Just for info, I renewed my 5 year car and bike licence 3 weeks ago.

Arrived at Hang Dong at 1.30pm.

At 1.40pm handed in paperwork.

At 2pm had the red, green and yellow test.

At 2.15pm I was in the classroom for the 45 min video.

At 3.15pm had photo taken and licences issued.

Not bad, under 2 hours!

Does anyone actually know anyone who has had a test?

Surely, the more people you test, the more you will find it?

Incorrect. I got one a week ago, the girl said it would be 25 days. I said can I pay and get one quicker, she said yes come back tomorrow, 500bht paid, got the next day.

Driving home last night from Lampang the mountains were all on fire, smoke bellowing out from them and saw numerous lines of fire. Worst I have seen it in 5 years or so.

I bought an Isuzu D-Max 2.5 Titanium Cab 4 Manual with 12km on it in 2012.

Now at 130k and literally no issues (apart from a flat battery) in that time, so what's that, 8 years?

For cost of ownership and reliability, can't go wrong.

An oil and filter change every 20k or so and that's it! Still on same discs and pads with plenty of wear left in both and one set of new tyres at 90k.

"Serviced" the other day at an Isuzu main dealer = full oil and filter change, new headlight bulb, replacement cam belt and air con belt, full coolant replacement cost 3300bht.

Forget manufacturers recommendations (unless in warranty period), use you common sense when "servicing", not required every 10k etc.

P.S. Forgot 3 sets of wiper blades!
