I had a few old frends who had paid 30k Baht to get visas for Thai girlfriends who had previously been refused them.

This probably has it's roots in the British tradition of pubs closing between 10-11pm, a mad rush for "LAST ORDERS 'aven't you got 'omes to go to!?"😁

When I lived in Thailand (and hanging around in boozers most nights) I suspected that falangs drink driving was rife, much more so than where they came from, mainly due to lax law enforcement, light penalties etc.

Is he really that different to many other Thai politicians? His biggest crime was to say that he was going to help the less well-off? (That's what some politicians in most counties do?).

At a bar I used to frequent in Bangkok the Thai lady wife of the owner used to lock the door when the loud drums etc were heard approaching from down the street.

I just came over to see some old buddies, and a trip down memory lane. Saw lots of changes since my last pre-COVID visit.

Way back in the late 90's, early 00's I was just like you, over in Soi Cowboy every night. I was mid to late 30's then, 60 in January. I've been living alone since 2018 and a sexual relationship doesn't really interest me at all, and I don't care that I don't care. But, I do still have the wonderful memories of my years in Thailand.

Feel sorry for sexpats, or non-sexpats? Or feel sorry for all falang men in Thailand becasue they can only be sexpats or sex tourists. Very many years ago my cousin worked in Thailand and never bonked anyone the whole time that he was there. He just didn't believe in such things, but didn't have problem with those who do, he was just working in Thailand.

I spent 20 years living in Thailand, loved the place, always will. I moved there when I was 33 and left when I was 53. Being quite young when I moved there, many of my friends were 10 or 20 years older than me. One thing that I noticed was how many of my retiree friends ended up returning to their home countries (for good) due to healthcare issues, including 2 who returned to Australia (Adelaide & Melbourne). Additionally, a guy who I worked with recently in the UK has parents who retired to Thailand, but returned to the UK due to his father getting cancer.

Basically all male visitors to Thailand are likely to be tarred with the same brush, sexpats or not.

So basically anyone who visits Thailand can be rightly or wrongly be labelled a sexpat or a sex tourist (or a sexigrant😁), even if they never get their leg over for their entire stay? (I spent 2 weeks in Thailand in March and never went with anyone).

Soldiers who refuse to stand to attention need a good bollocking!😄
