  1. The ECHR was passed into British law. But it isn't just about immigration, the Good Friday Agreement is dependent upon Britain being signed-up to it.
  2. Donald's British government would still be signed-up to the ECHR.
  3. Was it Tesco that estimated Britain's population to be around 80 million rather than the official figure of 67 million? Also, if illegals aren't counted in the official numbers, it puts London's population at close to 10 million rather than close to 9 million.
  4. Was it my imagination or did Donald give plum jobs to his kids and their spouses during his first term? (And also pardon his criminal associates).
  5. Possession, or possession with intent to supply? The quantity would make all the difference?
  6. A guy was once overheard saying that the unit that he was a member of was so secret that even the government didn't know that it existed!😁
  7. I'm from Hereford born & bred, but often feel like saying that I'm from Gloucester instead. Why? Because if you say you're from there, or mention the place, you could get all the SAS blah blah blah BS. I've never claimed to even have been in the army, but have known quite a lot of of SAS or ex-SAS guys, my sister nearly married one, back in the late 70's, he always carried a pager device.
  8. Yes, but 'arold was from 'uddersfield.
  9. To someone whose not from there it's all Liverpool. Bolton, Oldham etc - All Manchester. Sunderland 'boro etc - all Geordie land. Berks, Essex, Kent etc - all London Roughly😁
  10. Huyton's one of the rougher parts of Liverpool?
  11. He was probably going to get off lightly until he uttered these words: “I did not spank her hard. I’ve done this many times before in nightclubs and no one complained. I didn’t do anything illegal. This isn’t a criminal act at all. Why should I be punished? The police can do nothing to me and I’m about to leave Thailand.”
  12. That's right, they can't just be a 'nominee', not legally.
  13. So. If you get caught in Thailand you're probably going to be able to buy your way out of it, doesn't happen in the UK (AFAIK).
  14. I lived in Thailand for 20 years, but I returned to the UK at 53 mainly because I didn't want to run out of money in Thailand. Over the years I had quite a few older-than-me retiree-friends who returned to their home countries, whether it was UK, Aus or USA. The one common reason (or it was a factor)? Healthcare issues.
  15. No longer live there. Also, when living in Bangkok my taxi rides were never (very rarely) more than 2-3km. If my taxi to Lumpini Park was 68 Baht I would just hand over 100 Baht & say "keep the change".
  16. I no longer live in Thailand, but back in the UK I never drink & drive, partly because I need to drive for work. And, never drove in Thailand.
  17. Outside of Bangkok I don't think that I was ever able to get a taxi driver to use the meter.
  18. How about nonces of other nationalities?🙄
  19. I lived in Bangok for 20 years, and for the last 5 years wasn't in a relationship, and wasn't screwing-around either. Couldn't be bothered, money wasn't an issue, and I didn't feel particularly lonely.
  20. English and Scots, that's about 95% of Brits then!😁
  21. In the book "The Last Executioner" the Thai author says that the longest that farang do in Thai prisons is 8 years before being sent to chokey in their home country.
  22. Getting caught wasn't at the forefront of his thinking.
  23. I've long thought that people who get busted for such things in Thailand were doing the same in their home countries. I believe that if you have a drugs conviction you can forget about getting a visa (or ESTA) for the USA?
