It does not matter what Anutin says. The law is what the local police say (invent?) Will they readily give up a lucrative source of revenue?

I enjoy a lot of classical music with the exception of the atonal experiments from early to middle 20th century. My favourite changes from time to time, Beethoven, Bruch, Elgar Vaughn Williams et al. At the moment I repeatedly enjoy Peter Maxell-Davis's Farewell to Stromness.

The jack and wheel wrench for my old Chevrolet Aveo has disappeared. I did not check its presence for many months. but I have bought several new tyres.
There is now no Chevrolet agent in Chiang mai. Suggestions please for a secondhand spares dealer who might have one.
I have this happen before with other cars but cannot understand what use a jack can be to service crew.

He was trying to extort money from his victim. Nobody seems to have realised that extortion is in itself a crime. Furthermore, a death in the pursuit of a crime increases the criminality.

Last week Wise Emailed to inform me that as of 7 Jan they were restricted to sending a maximum of Thb50000 in any one transaction to any Thai bank except Kasikorn, Siam Commercial and Bangkok Bank.
Wise customer relations could not explain why except that it was a restriction on their licence to operate in Thailand. Can anybody offer further reasons or expand on this?

Why do you need to change names? My wife has always used her own name in Thailand and her married name (as on her UK passport) for 35 years while outside Thailand without any problem whatsoever.

Get the local joiner/carpenter to make a step of a comfortable height for her.

There appears to have been a very long holiday in England. I applied for a large transfer on Friday at 10am UK time. I transferred the money from my bank in Scotland immediately and Wise acknowledged receipt at 10.15, but advised me that I would not receive the money until 28th due to holidays. On 28th Wise Emailed me to inform that payment would not arrive until 29th. I made further enquires and learnt that Barclays Bank (which Wise use) had taken advantage of that long holiday to work on their computer system. I suspect that that work went wrong and delayed Barclays resumption of operations.
My payment was sent at 10.26 UK time on Wednesday and was in my Thai account at 0800am the next day

This has been well documented. face masks do not prevent you catching a Covid virus. The idea of them is to reduce an infected person's ability to spread it by reducing the area covered by his breath.

If you search the frozen foods at Rimping they have some Alaskan cod and haddock
Which Rimping is that. My nearest is Kad Farang and I have, so far, been unable to find Haddock.

I finally found it. As Treetops predicted, it was not Firefox at fault. In amongst the bundle of updates that I installed, was an update for my Linux Mint OS, Linux does not like Google because it does not share revenue with it.
At the bottom of the Search Shortcuts is "find more search engines", I did not scroll down far enough to see it.
This took me to Linux and I found Google at the bottom amongst many others.
Thank you all for your advice.

I recently installed an update to Firefox, version 95 and it has changed my default search engine to Yahoo. I would like to go back to Google but the browser now only offers Yahoo. Duckduckgo or Startpage. Google is nowhere to be found and reverting to Firefox version 94 has had no effect.
Expert help wanted please.

Hong Kong is in the Typhoon belt. High winds and wires on poles are not a good mix.
The same happened ten years ago in the Scottish highlands. Most electrical supply went through overhead wires for economy. Two successive years of severe Atlantic winter gales caused so much damage that a programme of burying the cables had to set up at great expense.

Japanese Bicycle spares
in Chiang Mai
Posted
I bought a secondhand Japanese import some 5 years ago. I now need a few replacement parts but so far have been unable to find ones that fit. Thai bicycles are smaller than Japanese. I have not yet been able to get back to the shop where I bought it. I do not want to have to buy another bicycle just for the want of a few spares. Can any member recommend a bike shop in Chiang Mai which might help?
Additionally, although I am not tall I find Thai made bicycles to small for me.
