diesel cannot catch fire "like that"; even if you approach a match with a container of diesel, nothing will happen; you can even drop the match into the container; the only thing that will happen will be the extinction of the match. The fire did not come from the truck; it's still an invented sleeping story.
It was not in the middle of the plantation either; he couldn't have done it anyway;
on the other hand what must have happened is a return of flames from the burning plantation;the flames go up very high, sometimes more than ten meters and if a gust of wind takes them on a nearby vehicle, this one will catch fire then when the GO is very hot, GO vapors contained in the tank will explode ...
But the diesel did not explode, it burned everything around it.What does "GO" stand for? I have never come across it meaning diesel, or NGV, and Mr Google can only find it as a new brand name.

I tend to agree with your comment. China has stated they want the bad press to stop. Telling news services to focus on the good side of it. Rescues, cured, etc... Thailands news and other countries are trying to deflect the seriousness of this virus by comparing it to other things and stating it is inconsequential and not all that bad. Yet, if you compare it as this articles writer has chosen to do. Remember that we choose to drive and take a risk. The virus doesn't give us that choice. The fly may kill hundreds of thousands worldwide yearly. But we have not yet seen this viruses extend on a global scale yet. It could end up killing millions and infecting billions. I would much tather take my chances on a Thai road driving or walking, than risk walking around people who may have this virus.
Road accidents, you can see them coming albeit without much time to react - but at least you have a chance, if you look out and practice defensive driving, or defensive life!
Viruses (viri?) you can't see.

In addition staff are cleaning handrails, toilet door knobs and other knobs.
Where exactly is all this happening. Asking for a friend.
I had occasion today to use the toilet on the 4th floor of a very well known department store in central Pattaya.
I can only describe it as filthy and dilapidated. Not a cleaner in sight.

The facility has full time play areas for children, creches for kids, swimming pools for all ages [all with supervision at all times].Easy 5 minutes walk to the beach front [no charge for loungers etc] no hawkers or vendors to spoil your day.
Water is clean, air is breathable, everything is kept spotlessly clean....
How does that sound...
Yes they do have occasional trouble with terrorists, as seen in the past but not in this location...
Sounds like my idea of Hell on Earth.

#1 Currency exchange rate
#2 PM2.5 and other pollution concerns
#3 New coronavirus outbreakHe has now booked Egypt for 3 weeks fully inclusive for half the price of coming here... including flights.
Given past history, Egypt would not be my first choice as a safe destination!

It's a lovely clear day in Ratchayothin, northern Bangkok, today. The birds are tweeting merrily in the luxuriant trees, the happy population are going about their merry way, the distant rumble of the pristine new sky train assures us of progress, and the local school children, including my own, are gamboling outside gleefully before further important lessons are imparted.
All is wonderful in paradise.

I thought gamboling was illegal...?

Yes. well. English is the default uniquitous language of the world. Thai isn't. It must surely be the responsibility of Thais to speak English, not for Europeans or Americans (both of whom come here mainly for cheap beaches, cheap food or cheap sex) to learn how to order Somtam in Thai or to engage a waiter whose IQ is likely less than 90 in conversation (quantum mechanics anyone?).
Seems reasonable for foreigners to boycott jingoistic little restaurants like this one. It probably isn't very clean anyway and it seems they need a few lessons in how not to <deleted> their customers off.
I thought Big Too was on record as stating that pasa Thai would be the future language of diplomacy.

"The Lebanese Red Cross said more than 100 people had been treated for injuries, with at least 65 others taken to hospital on both sides.

To be consistent with the headline, "
The Lebanese Red Cross said more than
100fivescore people had been treated for injuries, with at least65threescore and five others taken to hospital on both sides.A security source said at least
15¾score protesters had been detained."Score" seems to be word of the week for journalists hereabout!
And yes, I did score out the original. I could have underscored instead.

Was he yelling excuses to the passengers, before impact?
Ok, you are correct. He did not deflect the blame, the investigating authorities did. In Thai culture it is unacceptable for a high-ranking person to take any blame: loss of face to the deceased, and the family.

I knew a TG senior pilot, now thankfully deceased, who went on after retirement from TG to fly with other Thai airlines. He was a keen light aircraft pilot and owner. He was a likeable, but often also an arrogant, ignorant, and incompetent hiso <deleted>.
He had many avoidable accidents in his and others' light aircraft. Blame was always deflected to weather, mechanics, or system failures, when in fact pilot stupidity was invariably the cause. The one that killed him (and seriously injured three passengers) was blamed on "wind". In fact the aircraft was overloaded, underpowered, and he was showing off at low altitude in the face of a mountain. Stupidity.

Silly question I know, but who monitors all these monitoring bracelets? Do they even work, and what is the reaction time to a breach of conditions? Is there a shoot-to-kill policy in place in case of an infraction?

Definitely wheel and tyre assemblies, not tyres alone.
Unusual for such a thing to happen if the bolts are correctly torqued.
You mean, tightened as much as possible with a 1" square drive wrench and a 2m length of pipe slipped over the handle?
And jumped on, just to make sure?

From what I read, it must have been well over 100 to 120 Kmp.
Very sad indeed.
BTW, anyone knows what is the best mode of transport to get from Phitsanalouk Airport to Uttradit Bus Station? Cheers
