His best option perhaps is one of the Military Charities, there a quite a few that may help, British Legion being one and Help for Heros. I hope someone helps, but the UK is not known for caring a monkeys toss about those who have served. Its not the US, where they do seem to care.
Apart from POTUS.

Contrary to many of the previous posts, the idea isn't to drive into water so just the top of the snorkel is sticking out like a submarine's periscope. It's simply to keep the air intake out of the water when it would be flooded in its normal position. The exhaust pipe is under positive pressure when the engine is running, so, while it may be useful to extend it upwards, it's not essential to do so. As long as you don't stall.
Is that E2R and HRH........!?

I've been trying to send a letter to the USA since June. The Thai Post Office won't send it except for the EMS service at 790 Baht. And still NO guarantee of prompt delivery. Stories I've heard say that it's taken more than 2 months to arrive, if at all. Some are assumed to be lost and I simply can not risk that with my letter. It contains a check that MUST go there very soon. Any suggestions from readers here?
There are many ways to transfer money that are quicker, safer and more convenient than a cheque (note correct spelling!) especially in these troubled times. You may however need a trusted intermediary, if the accounts concerned present obstacles.

Crusader OUCH Maybe you are set well and 800k Baht is not important to you.. A Husband and Wife are required 1.6 million. Maybe the amount is not unreasonable, maybe it is. Add in a car, house or condo, insurance and entertainment one gets an elevated amount.
Actually @american2, you are not entirely correct. If you each have a retirement visa, yes 800k each, but one of you can have a spouse visa.....800k in the lead name, zilch for the other (400k each is not acceptable, at least in Jomtien).
I totally agree 800k is not a paltry sum.

A Thai friend and her son considered taking a 7-11 franchise, and went on the indoctrination course.
They learned that if their profits rose over a certain pre-determined limit, the franchisers WOULD open another store close by. It seems the strategy is to have many small outlets rather than a few big ones.
My friends walked away from the deal.

I don't think she understands what full responsibility means. 15,000 is just a laughable number to even begin to make amends.
Full responsibility means going to jail and stumping up a whole lot more than a paltry $500. What is worse of course is the fact that this happens day in, day out and the herd never learn.
She needs to "friend" Red Bull "Boss". He knows how to fix it....maybe.

You should dob yourself in, like most Thai except Red Bull do. 50 baht and a Wai.
If you don't, 100,000 baht and/or (guess which, 555) one year in Klong Prem, followed by deportation and blacklisting.
Not to mention, the battery and clips to scrotum, beating, ritual humiliation by pointing, paying for a 10'x4' full colour poster, and, God help us all, destroying the reputation of foreigners in LODS.
(Land of Double Standards, in case you were wondering).
Sorry, bad day, but shoplifting is sad and reprehensible in any culture.
