Checked out Jim's Burgers new location recently on 3rd road.

    That location is terrible.

It just gets lost among the Pet Food shops (yes we know!!) and the darkened windows do not help either.

Must be doing a fraction of the business that it was doing in its old location.

but when you have long term places like The Pig and Whistle and The Butcher's Arms close down, it doesn't show confidence in the market.

Was that the best you could come up with?

One, the owner died and so did the business because it became rudderless.

The other was sold as the owners wanted to retire from the business, and reopened shortly after to many good reviews.

    I wouldn't call 1 month a high season

    Who did?

I mentioned the tsunami because I am hearing from friends down south that it's dead in many of the well known tourist areas, and was talking about high season across Thailand.

Not a clue what is relevant about this

So, whilst there may be a lot of people walking around, that's no good to bars if they buy beer from 7/11's or supermarkets, and no good for restaurants if they buy cheap eats from the same.

Oh I see, High Season numbers can only be calculated by your means?

In any High Season, good businesses will always survive, while the poorly run ones will fail, and look for excuses. What business do you own?

I bet you haven't seen one as low as this one, possibly with the exception of the tsunami.

    LOL .... not even close.

You should have seen 1993, which was the quietest I have ever seen.

The only one that comes close was when the Yellow Shirts closed Suwanapoom, and that downturn only really lasted a month.

The Tsunami? ... why would you think that would affect Pattaya?

Normally it is held on an empty piece of land to the north of Pattaya.

Maybe it has moved for this years event .... I will check.

No, looks like it will be held at Horseshoe Point this year.

@SidJames definitely not a scam, as there has been one at the same time for the last 5 years.

You're referring to the excellent Dr. Komchai and the Pattaya Animal Clinic on Pattaya Tai. He closed that location and consolidated it with his larger facility, Banrai Animal Clinic, in Na Jomtien where he also provides specialized surgery and extensive boarding. It's a 15-minute ride south on Sukamkavit. 0850935954. Still excellent veterinary care.

do you mean that this one is closed ?

Are you sure he closed the Pattaya Tai branch?

Was open the last time I passed.

Used to use this one a lot, when he had an excellent female Vet working for him, but when she left the place seemed to go downhill ..... I wish I could find out where she moved to.

As I have said before, I use Thong Lor now, and tell everyone to avoid Muang Ake (both on the Sukhumvit) who still spam call me, after my one visit which was enough for me.

  7. Maya Music Festival has been an annual thing the last few years.

Normally it is held on an empty piece of land to the north of Pattaya.

Maybe it has moved for this years event .... I will check.

For some reason, the Legends Music Festival seems to be getting promoted by Pattaya more, and it is on the same weekend.
