I bought 2 cans last week at Big C. They quite often run out of stock and there can be a couple of weeks before restocking, you have to keep checking.
Maybe ...
Personally, I think it's different this time.
But I do remember this happening with OFF before about 3-4 years ago.
It was around 80-90 baht at that time, then it disappeared off the shelves for some time, then suddenly returned with a different packaging and was now around the 130 baht price range.
I remember I then found some at the Cash & Carry type place off Photisan at the old price, so I bought all that they had.
Time will tell.

I am having less success.
Tried their Tacos last Tuesday and was very underwhelmed, which always seems to be the case when I visit.
Admittedly, I have yet to try anything of Max's.

If you remember the Scottish Chef Ewan McGlashan of 'Bite Me Bistro' and Prime on Nine restaurants, you might be interested to know he has re-surfaced in Hua Hin, opening a small Bistro called Wild Ginger.
I know, not much use for us in Pattaya, but thought it was worth mentioning in case you have a trip to HH planned.

Sketolene sold at 7/11 is plainly a tourist trap. And often out of stock....well not any more as tourists are dwindling...
Plenty of Sketolene in Friendship, including their Jungle Formula.
Friendship has a decent selection actually, including Off but in cream form.
But alas no Off Active.

I must admit couldn't find it at one or two places, but did in BigCX. I don't think they are good at maintaining stock here...I was all over the place looking for my Lea and Perrins.
Pattaya Klang? .... have not seen any there for weeks, and none again today.

Anyone seen 'OFF' Mosquito Repellant for sale anywhere lately.
None in the usual Supermarkets, and it was never really an item stocked by the Pharmacies.
Really hoping that it has not gone the way of Autan and the other Repellents that actually worked, but disappeared from Thailand.
All the others do not work, and/or stink of Citronella.

BTW. The bars in Tree Town were virtually empty. They will go bang before any low cost restaurant.
Yet, more continue to open .... funny that ????

Yes, eventually, and I put "eventually" at the next 6 to 12 months.
Sorry, what do you expect to happen in the next 6 to 12 months?

No doubt Hungry Hippo and the like will be busy. The same with the 2 for 1 bars.
It will be interesting to see who they eventually put out of business.
Eventually?

Not whinging.
It's a negative whinging thread.
You could have started a thread about recent closings and openings, but you prefer to to concentrate on the negative.

Well, it made no difference the last time, so ...

I can only imagine what the whingers would be saying if that beach was ever packed.

Soi 7 may have been "banging" over Christmas and NYE, but look how quiet the beach was during his video, and it's high season. He probably should have filmed elsewhere.
Are you actually aware of what Pattaya Beach looks like nowadays?

Well I never liked the food at the Reef at the old location so I'm certainly not going to schlep out to the new location.
Yes, me too, always preferred the Blue Parrot / Sue's Place (although I am alarmed that they done the place up)
12 hours ago, Jingthing said:But anyway, for anyone that doesn't know about it already, I've been enjoying the Tex Mex food from Tigglebitties through their delivery service, which closes at 8 pm. See link below. They are not on Grab but their proprietary delivery service is exceptionally good.
You and Evil Penevil just never stop going on about this place!!
It's been a while, I might have schlep out there some day.

Yes, Thai with good English skills.
Thanks, at first I just presumed it was the owner that had moved the restaurant up there, but then had heard it was a staff member.

Not sure why that matters?

In the past, it was common to little bars, run by dreamers and their hooker girlfriends, be turned over, but now we are seeing well established businesses that have been around for years also closing down.
Is that not just natural?
Tell you, for every business that closes down, I could mention one that has opened since.

As we approach the end of what has traditionally been the busiest month of the year for my local/favourite bar, I would have to say even though I wouldn't expect it to close it's pretty clear the post Xmas surge in customers of times gone by just hasn't happened for it this year. I'm interested in the situation of a nearby restaurant which is mid to higher end and is more heavily reliant on its high season business, from what I see there it's a more obvious downturn in seasonal business and with its overheads that would be one establishment I wouldn't be surprised to see up for sale at some stage this year. If it does I will confirm which one I am referring to.
Yet in the area I am at, I would say the Post High Season has been very good.
Certainly a lot lot busier than it was before the Xmas NY now.

Well, I got a reply from SC Johnson's Consumer Relationship Center, who do not understand why I having difficulty in finding the item, and have confirmed that they continue to distribute it in Thailand.
So, I guess that is good news and it is just a blip.
