Very gullible I think!

Just few personal experiences..in 2 years of single life in Chiang Mai..

1) On my first date ever in Thailand, a 42yo hair salon owner took me to a shopping mall for me to buy for her a 6000THB/cellular ...

.

2) On a first date a 43yo police officer shows me a brochure of new houses for sale in Chiang Mai..over 3 million bath.... saying "if you buy for me today we get married tomorrow"

3) On a first date with a 60yo active school principal, she said that she was looking for an older guy to get married, and to take care...if its will paid the 1 million debt she had....

4) On my first date with a 32yo, she asked for a 25000THB "loan" to buy merchandise for the opening of a restaurant she supposedly was opening that week...

5) On my first date, a 41yo told me that she will be my "exclusive" gik if I give her 20000THB/month.....I called her later to see if I can have another date. She responded that she already got a farang willing to pay her...and do not have time for me...that week.

6) On my first date with a 60yo retired government employee, she said that nothing was left of her retirement money and she was broke, and need a husband to pay her debts, her home mortgage, and her car loan....

My list for "favors" requests in second an third dates is too long to post here.

In compensation..I have a long list of nice dates too....and I am a "Cheap Charlie". Some still good friends, just friends.

I am married with a wonderful woman now.

I am 70.....By the way, after my 47yo wife, the most beautiful Thai woman I dated was that 60yo retired, and the ugliest the 32yo restaurant owner...The most beautiful Thai woman I met...is a doctor, 46 yo. I didn't dated her. She is looking for a rich farang, and we just become good friends. She is stunning, I just was out of qualifications... I am an architect, and I love Thailand traditional architecture...but..I have to say that the "modern" Thai architecture is very bad. Worst than that, Thai people and government shows no care for traditional or historical architecture. I will like to believe that it is because the country have so much of it, so much to take care...or not control, but my heart hurts when I see beautiful temples and sites in "restoration". Restoration for Thai people means replacing the old for the new...or replacing the full building for a modern copy....Very sad.. Will take more hundred of years probably to destroy so much beauty.

I glad I will be not here to see the "restored" Thailand.....

A while ago I got a bite on a finger cleaning my garden and was looking like yours. The following day my finger and part of my had was blow like a balloon, green, cold, and very itchy. A snake???...I rush to a clinic close to my home and I got medication. In just 2 days was gone. Doctor said that probably was a bee or a spider....

Chiang Mai is the perfect location to depart to China, Malaysia, Singapore....Dubai? Why she will risk her life with so many fools in Bangkok?......

For short time stays the best deals are the "service apartments " from 5000 to 8000 THB/month, or some guesthouses that offers monthly rentals....When I was looking...2 years ago..the best deal was a room in a small hotel around the block of the Miami Hotel, soi 9 and Moon Luang... On Soi 9 is a Guesthouse called SK1House. Nice place with English speaking attendants. Look for the sexy girl on the tours service and ask for advise. She is very helpful and can recommend monthly rental places in town. If you look by yourself, or with a RE agency, prices may be a lot higher.

I do not know about bringing and using your "stuff" here, may be complicated and expensive. But..if you need it so bad...

I am from the US and I do not know how Thai visa is obtained in the UK. I just came 3 years ago, got a 30 days visa in Thai customs here, and days later I show up at the Thai Immigration office to start my NO visa......Now, since few months, I am happily married.

In your particular case will be even easier...

Already married with a Thai, you can just get a tourist visa, and apply for a NO visa here with a Retirement or Marriage extension.

For the first one just need to show 800,000THB deposited in a bank account and prove of residence, like a lease contract, etc.

For the second one, you only will need your marriage documentation, prove of residence, and 400,000THB in a bank account.

The income you are getting from the UK, even only your pension, will be enough to build for you and your wife a good and simple life here, if you are not looking to live in Thailand's touristic spots...or having expensive "hobbies". Welcome to Thailand!

I loved Cha Am and started thinking about moving there. I found a 3 bedrooms 2 stories furnished townhouse 1/2 block from the main beach leasing for just 5000THB/month. ....on a nice street too.

Visiting Hua Hin, just 20 minutes away, I do not like it at all..and a similar smaller property was renting for 4 times more....I took too long in make a decision, and the townhouse was rented in few days..if not...Still in my mind...Cha Am is a wonderful coast town, close to everything, very convenient, not so much tourist or expat movement, with a very nice weather....and principally.....low cost of living.

Kwao Krua - The English name is Butea Superba. It does something specific to the male member and is very effective at that. I wouldn't take it unless I knew I was going to be in action that night.

I make my own Lin Zhu (sp?) tincture. It's also good for the libido but I can take it every day without walking around with a boner.

About the liver - Some naturopathic doctors claim that a sluggish liver can cause caffeine over-sensitivity. You can have a congested liver but still get high marks from the hospital tests. Liver/gall bladder flushes can do wonders.

Meditation - I can tolerate caffeine better when I've meditated. It also decreases my desire to abuse caffeine.

I think it is what you make it really... Some people might find them women over 30+ that you call ugly, attractive... So really it's all based on opinion.
