I can remember many on the forum said wearing a mask on the beach was totally unnecessary about 2 years ago. Now, if only he could persuade people to wear a helmet when on a motorbike.............. -

I had Nat West Offshore with Thai address, they started behaving like a High Street Bank and moved over to the 'too hard to deal with pile'

I also have a Nationwide account registered to my address in Thailand. If you want an offshore account, I have found Standard Bank very easy to deal with (compared to the UK high Street Banks who have offshore banking.)

Up to 1 million for fire etc, also if someone else has a fire and you are damaged . 10% of total insured for burglary. Very cheap, 1600 for 12 months. foolish not to do it. I bought it years ago when someone else in the block had a fire, friend had lots of smoke damage due to a unit below him catching fire, neither of them were insured so if he wanted to claim it was a lengthy court case.

Not disputing you, but how long ago? Reason I asked is I was there for 5 days and still had to pay 32 USD at the visa counter before I went through Immigration. I was with 2 Americans who both paid also.

Nobody asked me......no proof was given. Simple 32 USD paid for visa on arrival.
