  1. Excerpt from the full Phuket Express report linked. "The car driver is facing charges of threatening another person, carrying a weapon in public without a proper reason, frightening the public, and stopping his vehicle on a road thereby blocking traffic flow."
  2. And a college course in domestic electricity installation. I think what Crossy is saying is you really shouldn't be trying to interpret that which you don't understand.
  3. If the massage is done by a reasonably gorgeous woman then a towel is a polite start. If, on the other hand, it's a wistful male, then for me, it has to be a large size chastity belt.
  4. Will the carbon tax have a refund option to allow tree growers, like myself, to reclaim against all the tonnes of carbon they are removing from the air? Or is it just a one way street?
  5. Yep. Your link pretty well confirms the species Hrastova sjajnica. Brilliant and thanks.
  6. I found this growing in my mini forest the other day. I asked my Thai wife what it might be and her reply was "Dangerous". Can anyone recognise it and put a name to it?
  7. I don't think it is entirely the mayors fault. The Comptroller General’s Department is part of central government.
  8. This sounds like a typical British way of doing things. However it does ensure that the person who applies is verified to be the passport holder. How the agents get over that must be that they are the nominated representative of the applicant.
  9. Do I understand this right? There is a white wire run from the meter on bamboo poles. I assume the white wire is domestic house wire. This is unsatisfactory if exposed to the elements for an extended period (a few years). What is the cable protection at the meter? Assuming the white wire is two core 2.5mm², there should be a fuse at the meter end not exceeding 20 Amps. The fuse will ensure the wire won't get too hot in the event of a short at one of the connections etc. Mind you, if there is a catastrophic fuseless shorting event the PEA supply will be sufficient to vaporise the cable.
  10. Any 0one notice any unusual activity at the police hospital lately?
  11. Nor are there any signs of those terrible elderly bridge players.........
  12. And a few rolls of duct tape.
  13. How can you maintain something that was not built properly in the first place?
  14. So it sounds like a fast feedback loop to monitor the inverter output cycle by cycle would be required to control this instability as I understand it.
  15. It strikes me that this "Ghost power" is a design shortfall. If zero export is called for then why not incorporate a mechanical device like a control relay to isolate the inverter. These inverters are getting exorbitantly expensive so they should concentrate a bit of resource on Ghost power elimination. Perhaps call in Ghost Busters (did someone already think of that?).
  16. I am not grid tied except through the ATS. ATS priority is 1st solar. 2nd PEA. Mine is a single phase ATS. If I have a need to use PEA at any time, all I have to do is disconnect my inverter output and the ATS will automatically switch over to PEA. Transfer time is between ½ second to 1 second. How does the ATS work? There is a relay permanently energised by priority 1 input. Relay contacts are arranged to connect rectified AC power to a small motor which controls, via a mechanical linkage, two mcb's in an OR logic way. If power is off from the inverter then the relay is de-energised, the motor runs one way and switches the mcb's over. If power from the inverter is put back on then the relay is energised and the motor runs the other way to switch the mcb's back to priority 1 input. The mechanical linkage is arranged so that it is impossible to have both mcb's in the same state.
  17. Isn't that how the York Minster lightning rods were connected?
  18. Not fishy atall. EGAT is owned by the ministry of energy therefore Paisan was, in effect, a government employee. I think we are all aware what that means. Paisan knew he had some unexplained wealth and thought he had been found out so he tried to buy his way out.
  19. Great news. How about the software.
  20. Maybe this is the beginning of the end of Lese Majesty law. I certainly hope so.
  21. Sometimes my sense of humour leads me to wonder why I have not been shot yet. I hope all goes swimmingly every Deye day after switch-on
  22. The boxes look nice. But I wouldn't say "all good" until after switch-on and all the blue smoke has dissipated...........
