He lives pretty simply and is willing to work an English teaching job. He is Asian though.

I understand these devices are limited to the US and UK only.

I was lucky enough to get an Echo Dot.  It's been cool for looking up random information and controlling music.

However, I was wondering if these things are useful at all in Thailand?  I imagine I might have to use it through a VPN?  Then if I would want the time I would have to qualify it with "Alex, time in Bangkok."

I hope they unlock it for worldwide use.  Its a pleasant alarm.

Unfortunately foreigners usually get restricted to teaching English.

If there were better ways to make money I would still be there.

If you can get a Roku, Chromecast, or something similar you could do a lot more with the TV.

That's why those that can afford it send their kids to top private/bilingual/international schools and ship their kids off to universities overseas.

 

These kids fare much better in the workplace here. It's not all hi-so either. I know kids who got to University overseas and it nearly bankrupted their Thai parents. It paid off though.

 

Sticking kids in a free school here is putting them at a high chance of a life of mediocrity.

If there are 4 customers in a bar with a joint bill and one of them leaves, I don't see haw he can be called a thief. There were still 3 others at the table with the ability to pay.

Anyone who has been around know Thais LOVE putting extra shit on the bill in an effort to take advantage of you while drunk.

I know some of you TV posters are &lt;deleted&gt; and will just be trolls.  So I'm going to take your advice with a grain of salt.

Can the cops really do anything? If I have to go to the police I'm going to say they padded the bill.

Thais definitely need English if they want to become surgeons, airline pilots or air traffic controllers. That's not an option,it's mandatory if they want qualifications in those fields. I have yet to meet a GP or dentist who cannot speak reasonable English.

 

I guess the two school heads aren't noted for producing high achievers.
