  1. Thanks for that.
  2. I looked into that, they don't do Thailand.
  3. Being old and old fashioned I have always paid cash and never thought to buy online, so I know nothing. 6 months ago I tried buying an anti-virus program online using my Bangkok bank debit card, it was refused. I tried using my German debit card, this was also refused. My German bank told me that I can't use the card to buy online outside of Europe. My Bangkok bank lady said that to use the Bangkok bank debit card online I have to ring up the number on the back of the card but on reading it the number was just to report finding a lost card. I was thinking of taking a holiday in Cambodia but saw on the website that I should buy a e visa online for 30 dollars, I haven't tried yet (dollars is an increase in the difficulties perhaps. I can't apply for a German credit card because I'm outside of Europe, to apply I must have an address there. It seems unlikely that I could get a Thai credit card and anyway I would rarely use it. Paypal seems out of the question NDID doesn't like our ID number. People seem to buy online all the time, how do you do it?
  4. What, sex pat Catholics in Thailand? Blessed are the cheese makers.
  5. Looks like the priest has been at her.........again, no wonder she's crying.
  6. My son (18) could be taken for both Thai and falang (white skin, falang nose, his dark eyes are a bit Thai, a bit falang, black hair. He's never had any problems. He speaks both Thai and English fluently, his English teacher has given over the English class to him to teach because his own pronunciation is so abysmal (he once introduced himself to me as "I am a teacher", I understood, I am a tee shirt). He wouldn't look foreign in London or Bangkok.
  7. In the British sit com 'Yes minister' it was said that investigating committees were only formed when the result was known beforehand and since the whitewash was already applied the committee didn't really have to actually meet
  8. They won't be a minority soon. Why not give them winter proof tents?
  9. We make our own reality, it's your mode of thinking that is making things difficult. As Shakespeare wrote, 'Nothing is good or bad, only thinking makes it so'.
  10. A bit of a silly Billy, I've read that Cambodian prisons are worse than those in Thailand.
  11. There's a lot of unbiased financial podcasts out there, the dollar has fallen over 9% this year and the last treasury sale only brought in half of what was expected and needed, nobody wants dollar T bills anymore so the government has to borrow another 50 billion to make up the shortfall, worldwide trade using dollars has fallen to 50%, you wont hear that on Fox news. Bloomberg reports currency traders are ditching dollars for Euros in trading options
  12. until it's no longer in the news. He was under the influence of drugs while driving and threatened someone with a rifle, he should be in prison. Is nobody asking why he took a military style weapon with ammo to pick up his wife?
  13. Yes it's my generalization, I don't know anybody who has died from covid, my uneducated opinion is that covid is a bad case of flu, if you are healthy to begin with you have little to fear from it.
  14. I think coups are so 'yesterday' Thailand is more entrenched in international politics and trade these days, a coup would be financial bad news, especially for tourism.
  15. No to both questions. I'm not against vaccinations per se but I find the dangers of covid to be exaggerated.
  16. Why shoot cats (which is illegal) and why would he need 3 weapons? Perhaps he was selling on to criminal elements.
  17. Why would the prat need 3 weapons and why 3 silencers?
  18. So he's a farang but by the looks of him he's of dubious heritage.
  19. If that's his girlfriend in the pic I'm not surprised, probably a rupture.
  20. You're right, there would be hundreds of thousands of American citizens who would be only too willing to take their place working on the land or in abattoirs for a minimum wage.
