Their switchboard will go into meltdown when I start calling it non stop in "pollution season". Without an air purifier the air is much worse than having a football team in your living room lighting up simultaneously.
I can't wait !!!

1,102 respondents is not "most Thais" !
In Hong Kong it gets you disqualification; shame the same doesn't apply in Thailand.

Quoteconfirming that the top-tier economy has improved somewhat but the fundamental economy has not improved very much
Otherwise translated, as the extreme increase in the unequal distribution of wealth.
QuoteThat is a challenge to the Ministry of the Interior which is close to the people, listens to their problems and calls on them to stand up, be strong and prosper.
Translated as , we get the jitters when we look at the news and see the occasional repercussions of such a scenario worldwide.
Last paragraph says you are on your own and best to get used to eating recycled sticky rice cakes.

Awesome photo! Worthy of a caption competition!
Looks like the "patrols from outer space" have just arrived, lowered gently from a (recyclable) plastic bag.

Golden tree snake, no problem. They tend to stand their ground and not slither away though. Not poisonous .

Did the officials at any time in the meeting admit it is the duty of the house owner and as such if the house owner does not comply then the person in question should not be fined. I think that is a very important point. It is categorically wrong to punish a tenant in lieu of a landlord.
I know there are cases of condo owners and wives that own, but they should be addressing the point on landlords.

Well most times the wind is going south . So that is 20,000 less pieces of trash to pick up in central Chiang Mai. Thank god!!
When the Chinese arrived it is very noticeable how the whole Eco... thing got ditched quite quickly.

Strange, that seems slow. I thought it was faster for women.
Maybe in BKK but in the provinces it seems not.

I don't care what day its on, as long as it is soon. It's now 19 months since my NIA interview.
Same for me - 19 months. I was told, that 3-4 months ago the last female ahead of me in the process (in CM) was successful and announced (I think she was Filipino).
Estimation: as she was one year ahead of me , mine would appear either end of this year or beginning of next.

So the guy is unable to remember where he lives or give any coherent utterings, yet he has the ability to go and buy a can of spray paint and paint something on a wall . Then conveniently puts the can in his bag and goes for a snooze on a nearby road quite some distance away. Right !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the partner who purchased it with Central Group, Hong Kong Land. Hong Kong Land being under Jardine Mathieson which in turn owns the Mandarin Oriental. Surely would have been a perfect opportunity to turn it into a luxury hotel.

The first sale was for the chunk of land at the front where the hotel and Central Embassy Mall now stand. It looked as though the back piece was a done deal as there was a Central walkway over Rama 1/Chidlom entrance of the embassy between their malls. It struck me how weird it was and something normally out of the question due to security. It seemed obvious a deal had been done already for the whole chunk of property.

I use a 10 year old Nokia ' not smart' phone. I inherited it from a visiting Californian friend who was visiting Thailand for 6 months. It is still going strong!! I am the extreme of phone frugality.
I was well taught in the subject of appreciating and depreciating assets !!

Something that is actively promoted by the push towards a "cashless society". All those that understand the use of credit cards would have grown up using cash. If we are pushed towards "numbers on a screen" , our grasp at how the physical, numeracy aspect of money works lessens. Much easier to overspend and the large corporations that profit , know this only too well.

The whole system reminds me of years ago (when most tribal people, did not have Thai ID cards) and there were different levels of permissions. Some hilltribe people seemed to be unable to even leave the amphur before getting something signed. Some were OK in their home province. This whole TM30 thing really reminds me of those days. Those without the Thai national ID found it pretty much impossible to travel outside their home province or maybe it was outside Northern Thailand.
Chiang Mai’s red cars boiling mad at Grab

Isn't there a choice of GRAB and GRAB ROT DAENG on the app?
So some red truck drivers do go through GRAB I presume.
The songtaews are licensed as they all have yellow plates. It seems that GRAB cars are not licensed to take passengers and therefore paying passengers would not be covered under their insurance if they got into an accident.
