  1. I don't understand the Thai's way of thinking. It seems by wearing the right brands, drinking the right drinks in the right places they can climb the social ladder, without having education, money, good job etc etc.

I agree, it is rife in other parts of the world but Thailand, especially Bangkok does seem to suffer from it more than most, but then again they have been ###### bent on being like The West for years.

It's very very pathetic indeed. :o:D

Thailand is a very materialistic place...not the worst but it sure is right up there...

yeah.. not the worst and is not our bussiness as well. :D:D let Hi-so's leave what they wanted and buy anything they want eventhough they don't have enough education, it is their life who will care about that. do everybody here care about them? if so, then for what? :D:D I better take a long sleep than to bother them co'z we can find this Hi-So's class anywhere not only in Thailand. :D:D

  2. Just curious to find out the main reasons that people first visited Thaivisa.com. Was it for visa info? Travle to Los info? Stumbled upon this site by chance? The tsunami news? Just wondering guys and girls. Give us you views on why you first visited. The reason i first came here was it was mentioned to me by a friend i worked with. So i thought i'd check it out. So i'm a regular from that first day of posting to threads started by others to the first thread i posted. So come on tell us what was the reason and why do you come back?

by surfing the net then, I found this site. Im keep on coming back due to lot of information fits for my need, then start posting of course felt borring at home after work or while I am in the office. Hoenestly speaking I am in the office at moment just a break so Im signing in. :o:D

  3. I need to go to Singapore on April 16th for a few days.

Air Asia?  Jet Star Asia?  Tiger Air?

Which has the best flight costs on limited notice?

be careful for using cheap airlines, I had a very bad experience once with PB Airlines :D . of course we should consider the price low price means you should not expect something compare with the expensice airfare everybody knows that. :o

  4. For the average Thai man a womans place is in the home, cooking, washing and taking care of her husband while he goes off and drinks, gambles, smokes and womanises.

I am agree with this quotes, its normal for them this situation therefore, their ladies/women hate them because lack of respect compare with the foreigner. :D:D but again not all Thai Guys are the same somehow there are still pretty much good around. :o:D

Correction with the "No refund" story: :o

Beleived it or not I returned my washing machine twice because I am not satisfied with the performance of it. They return back my money and I bought a new brand in other store. In here, you may return a goods within seven days if you are not satisfied with it provided this goods (electronics appliances, etc.) are still in good shape. But you should buy in a center or big store like Central, Lotus, Carefour, Seri Center, Makro and others. Some store they apply this "no refunds" words for selected items like clothes and etc. :D

  7. Back in the States, you could be confident that if you took something home and found out that it had parts missing or it was broken, you could return it to the store for a refund or replacement. But quite often what happens here is they just shrug their shoulders and tell you "no refunds". They honestly think it's YOUR fault for not checking it before taking it out of the store.

  8. Hi,

I will be moving back to Bangkok soon. I have a 13 year old son who I would like to bring with me (his mother is just too busy to really take care of him.) He is half-thai but was raised in the US. When I told a friend of mine who has lived in Thailand the last 20 years he strongly discouraged me from bringing my son - told me horror tales of people he knows who have had bad experiences there (mostly drug related.)

I would be really interested in hearing about people who have experience with this either direct or second hand (not third-hand, rumors, etc.)

    Thanks.

Thailand is not so worst as others think but, its a great place to live. Actually even where you come from, there are so many circumstances those teenage may encounter but believe me or not discipline should come inside the family not from the environment you lived in. Your son is not a small boy anymore he may face challenge in here but close family ties can guide him to go with the right direction in his life. (Family must play an important role to develop youngster attitude) :o

  9. I have been to Thailand many times and I still can't figure this out.

Its seems that an unemployed upcountry girl with little education or money can climb the social ladder by having an "older sponsor" (usually thai) or by socialising in the right places - qbar, bed places like that.

I know this Isaan girl, I know her family are farmers in Isaan. She is exceptionally beautiful, and has an older sponsor who she never sees in public .

She has never had a proper job, she used to work as a promo - girl for a drinks company. She didn't even finish her secondary education. But she seems to have a great deal of respect from older educated Thais, has friends working a lawyers, teachers, doctors and even supermodels.

I don't understand the Thai's way of thinking. It seems by wearing the right brands, drinking the right drinks in the right places they can climb the social ladder, without having education, money, good job etc etc. How would having this older sponsor who sends her about 30-40,000 baht a month put her in a different "class" from a bg?

Is this all about show / face? Is she really afforded so much respect, or only because she is beautiful.

You should not surprised :o money can do everything in this world, not only in Thailand! open you eyes and travel the four corner of the globe and you may find the answer. :D

  10. David1:

Rookie mistake sending these girls cash in hopes that they stay faithful to you.  You treat her like yourchild when you give allowance.  Is she over 18 yet?  And, when you pull the allowance away, she be looking for a "new daddy."  Such a rookie.  Sorry that so many of you guys get caught into this isaan trap of sending these girls money.  SO DARN PATHETIC.  Talk about a real poor investment.  Cant you just come to Thailand and play the field?  WHy do you rush into making house with these girls?

    Turok

I think we better not to post the word "ISAAN" co'z you are adressing to all North Eastern girl. Not all of them got the same ideas. isn't it? :o. Most of my girlfriend are from the area, in 5 years stay here in thailand I didn't find at least one got the same trap. :D . I agree there are trap like this but not all of them. :D

  11. I've found them to be a good airline in the past. Perhaps now they have expanded by leasing a B767 and have had to recruit more staff their standards might have slipped temporarily. However I must point out that you should never shout (if I read your English correctly) at a Thai as it never gets you anywhere even if you are 200% in the right.

Yah, I think so :o but I felt I am in a deep hole that moment. therefore, It happen such things. actually I approach them in a good way for the first time. thanks for advice anyway.

But I will never fly with them again. :D:D

  12. Hello Guys,

Did anyboby here fly with PB Airline already? I frequently travel abroad and using different airlines but PB Airline was the worst ever. Probably it happens due to very cheap air fare and I am Asian face thats why they don't treat me nice unlike my westerner friend (Jusk kidding) :D. The crew doesn't able to communicate well with the passenger.

At first, my company bought me a plane ticket to Beijing for bussiness. The airline clerk made a mistake with my name so I changed it in their office at Don Muang Int'l. Airport terminal 1 and get charged around 200 baht. They issued a new ticket filled up with hand written but I was noticed after I registered at check in counter, there are no changes with my name I made a complain then, I was told that they cannot change coz my company made the booking with that name. I wonder how about the 200 baht charges for the changing of my name earlier. I stay cool and promised to my self not to travel again using this Airlines.

They claimed that they are Star Alliance member so as a royal orchids (TG Airlines) card holder I am entitled to have special previlage with all Star Alliance airliners, I was told that it was valid for domestic flight only so its fine, I back off again :D . When I got in the plane it was a bit cold so I called up for a service and the flight attendant came so I request for a blanket but she said they allowed to distribute the blanket after the meal. Afterwards, I saw other passenger requesting for the blanket and they gave at once. I was wondering why they can have it. Then I called them again and shout about this case, one crew came and she said "very sorry" co'z the previous crew don't understand me or something that we misunderstood so finally I got one. :D We ate the meal but this attendant was skipping me again when they are serving the drinks honestly if I didn't asked for drinks then, they don't serve me at all..

I don't know whats wrong with them, then I realised that maybe I was only a victim :o:D. Actually I wrote an email with their management after few days in Bangkok regarding this case but till now no reply yet I know they don't give me a Sh*t but anyway, I just wanted to share my lesson here with PB AIR "not to fly with chear airline", "you people better spend much for your air fare than to go down with lousy budget airline." :D:D
