its sounds good, even in my place I did turn off my lights last night while I am watching the graph of electric usage in the TV countdown by Mr. Prime minister.
But, I hope when the people are turning "off" their lights and airconditioners at once and turning "on" afterwards won't affect the goverment sub station overload protector.
In our office, the room is not fully close and insulated, once we turn "off" the airconditioners at lunch time then turning "on" again afterwards, I think it consume lot of power than we let it run continuously with the 24-26 degree thermostat setting. because it will take time to cool down the room again then the compressor should run until it meets the thermostat setting. I am not profesinal with this field but I come up with this idea logically. please correct me if I'm wrong. thanks.

Perhaps, but the level and quality of "debate" is the distinction.
Whatdoyamean..they both talk about Bush.
Can I say "I love Bush" now?

Last week my 1-2-Call Sim died (rejected network), I went to WTC at Pratunam, gave it to AIS shop, passport - 20mins and all over. New Sim, no headache at all. they copied some data from old card onto new one.
GPRS now doesn't work at all.
GPRS - some handset is not yet set up so you better let the service center set it up for you. but for aother brand it was set up already like samsung brand.

Even here in my office our workers are oftenly asking this question with me. yah I ignore them, just smile or sometimes I just tell them straight "I just earn enough for living" ,

This very sad story i agree with "chownah" but we really don't know the Thai law. this practice should stop or else it will take more lives in danger.

There are two lanes of taxis at three terminals so is that too much or too little for you?
You receive a "ticket" as a receipt in case of any problem - it has the taxi number and instructions for redress and explains that the 50 baht surcharge is in addition to meter rate.
I did not notice any touts on last airport use (since extra security in place) but they are not that hard to avoid. I have done so for 35 years without a problem.
How can anyone answer your supposed question for an unfinished and unopen airport? Ask again next year.
agree for this post. I did the same thing.

Really not nice. Sometime, Thais don't realize that people from other nationalities (especialy Cambodian or more poor than themselves) are human too. In Siem Reap, I've been ashamed to hear Thai people speaking (in Thai) so badly about the local Cambodian staff.
in my observation, even their own people they did speaking so badly especiallyif you are come from north or north east border of thailand.

From my observation so far in Thailand, I would suggest that many Thai's have an abysmal diet consisting of white rice and as much animal protien as they can consume in a given time, usually fried or also observed many Thai's sitting down to a meal consisting of nothing but animal protien, plate after plate after plate - A diet of this nature is a disaster - as we are now seeing - increased heart disease and cancer.

Artisi, are you saying that white rice is also an abysmal diet ? I am just interested..
I would have thought even white rice is better than the junk food we eat so much of in the West ?

Let's see - met in 1999, had child in 2003, mother now 20 years old, child now two years old.
It sure sounds like mother was 14 years old when they met, and 17 years old when she conceived.
So - the kid's half brother is the current Labor Minister. Not bad!
Cheers!

This sort of thing is usually caused by deforestation of the hillsides...and quite often is illegal logging. Major problem world wide but especially in 3rd world countries. They always blame it on the rain!!
Agree.

all of you guys lot of bad/good comments in here. I can't help my self laughing alone for you people suffering those circumstances encountered day by day.
If you are really hate and suffering for what you had in here during your stay then, Please go back to your own country and don't come back here anymore. Since you are not happy and it seems Thailand or any asian country are the worse in the world then, please stay in the wonderful country you've claimed.
What is the reason for you people to stay here if most of the time something is bothering you. Like "Chonwa" said try to live in Singapore if you are not comfortable here in Thailand or maybe in Iraq, Sudan, Uganda, or some other country
They said: "You better clean your own backyard first before cleaning others". Why we don't try to ask our self "How perfect we are" before discriminating others.
I am agree for those handicap third world got but they are trying their best to overcome those circumstances. You people are very lucky for having a great country, honor and wealth but you are not still perfect. Areyou?

Does this mean that I should stop charging and using my electric bicycle and get back on my motor bike?
my advice is better to take a walk nor riding bicycle if your distanation is not very far from home at the same time you have exercise and stay healhty. I am walking for 2-2.5 KM every day from home to office. (go and come back)

I remember these sorts of measures from back in 1997. Offices turned the lights and air-con off at lunchtime. Given how much the office heated up during the heat of the day while the air-con was off and how long it took to cool it, I never thought there was any saving. Does anyone have any idea of the cost saving (or lack thereof) of turning fluro lights off and then back on?
Estrada: Depends on the size of fluorescent each one may be 18Watts, and 1 kw/hr is around B3 so one fluorescent saves 1/50th of B3/hr.
we are doing this pratice in our office and production line to turn off the lights during break time (1.5 hour everyday). it seem our company got reward coz the electricity consumption was less than before.
And we change some of the ordinary roof to skylight type (semi transfarent) so that it may help to reduce the bulb to be turn "on" at the day time.

Do you thinkanything will change that is Bangkok
what about the rest of the country ??????????
Just like the crackdown on noise, nothing will happen in the rest of the country
I personally don't know the history of economy here in Thailand in fast years but most of my thai friends agreed that Thai economy at present is better than the previous years. I am not talking about the capital city but Thailand economy as whole. Did anybody remember when the dollar rate climed up to 55 baht in 1995 (if i am not mistaken) did anyone knows the status of Thailand economy those days with ex Prime Minister Ch*v*lit? .
The goverment are doing their job to improve Thailand even slowly better than nothing.

i personally thing it is ridiculous to have bikini wear anywhere near a religious building. temple or church. i am buddhist, it is definitely not respectful. same goes with a church. would their religion like to see bare naked women posing? it is just common sense! "...did not realise that the temple is sacred for Thais"... <deleted> is this?? didnt know?? please...this isn't childs play. the viet pic above is appropriate... nicely dressed but in a hotel...and if in bikini..that would be fine as well...but in a religious place? get the F...out of here... and dont tell me that church stuff, its spread all over this world..and people dress in clothes that pay respect.... US is populated with this christian or whatever... man... give me a break
good post..........
thanks ANAL
the name is "AMAL" its a good friend of mine.
