  1. I'm not afraid to wear a pink shirt. I have a pink dress shirt that I wear to work with a red tie and looks very sharp. I also have a pink polo shirt that I wear when going casual. No men have ever cast any disdainful glances or said anything, but every woman gives a complimetary smile or comment!

If you have ever noticed... Chuwit always wears pink shirts!

I got the same thing with "bino", and so far there are no negetive comments for my pink polo shirts. :D i thinks its cool! :o

  2. It seems that many of you have forgotten that we are guests in this country and the Thai people are our hosts. Some of the derogatory remarks that have been posted are bigotted and racist. Thai people are the nation and if you cant assimilate and accept their culture and way of life, what the ###### are you doing here. Go back from whence you came. Bon Voyage

Agree for that :D:D its better to go back where you came from and make a comments to your own country than interpering with other cultures, way of life etc, etc.. :o . we should remember that "nobody is perfect in this world". let them live as is. :D

  3. That was very nice project by the government but again and again, they should track down the root cause of the problem. "POVERTY" is the root cause of the beggars anywhere. I think the best project they should do is: How to give proper education with those needy in every part of Thailand.  :D

Unfortunately, laziness and lack of work ethic is the cause of a lot of poverty here as well. How do you get rid of the root cause of that?

    :o

Unfortunately, avarice and taking advantage of the poorest sectors of society's vulnerability and foibles by a relatively small minority of the population (i.e. the nouveau riche) is also a cause of the ingrained poverty here. Then they have the cheek to deride the poor's "lack of work ethic and laziness", while they screw them out of their last baht on a daily basis. How do you get rid of that root cause?

    Just to add:

Unfortunately, laziness, blaming others, instead of taking action to remedy their poverty themselves and lack of work ethic is the cause of a lot of poverty here as well. How do you get rid of the root cause of that?

    :D

Actually "POVERTY" is everywhere, specially in a 3rd world country but it can be solve easily by having the good manner and right conduct. A good descipline should came from the very first time with each individual inside the family. FAMILY should play a great role to motivate all the members in a good shape and be ready to face their own life in the future. Close family ties is the best way to develop each individuals. We should not overlook our role as a member of the family. Therefore, we better start to develop our own now then give help to others soon. :D

    Not so true these days.

A lot of the beggars are imported from Cambodia, Burma etc.

Outside the scope of the Thai government.

Then, Thai government should simply imppose such rule to track down those illegal immegrants. :D:D:D don't tell me "illegal immegrants" its not under government scope. :D

  5. That is why I am taking a little time out today to remember why I live here.

    Good advice Neeranam.

Sometimes we become a bit self-centred and focus on the daily trivial things hey?

I like the Thai open and generous nature... I'm not talking about scammers (like BKK tuk-tuk drivers, or the BIB, or the political power jugglers etc), I'm talking about the real people... the villagers... the kids... the elders... etc.

I have never experienced such fantastic people anywhere else in the world.

    :D

That's true, I been in North East Area once and the people are so great. :D:D I enjoyed my few days vacation there. :o

  6. Base on my 5 years stayed here in Thailand and work with Thai Company as R&D Staff, I observed quitely numbers of our workers are in shape to work hard and willing to be trained and eager to learn something more but majority were not able to handle responsibility.. They prefer not to learn more because the more you learn, the more know, the more you know then the more your job. They probably hate this. They just would like to work, go home and enjoy the life as is even not much money in their hand. "Easy go lucky" and of course some workers are very smart since they got small wage so they work only base on that.

Probably you don't beleived, our company offer them a free basic AUTOCAD training but only one worker eager to learn and stay without any overtime pay coz the training scheduled after work. Its an oppurtunity to learn and upgrade their self but seems not so interesting. :o

I don't know whats wrong with them. anyway, its only my observation actually, I can't blame them for what work ethic they had. I just would like to share my experience and observation with Thai worker. :D

Thanks for the non-bashing post. I guess the fact that most of your workers decided to pass on the free training would support my idea that the work ethic is not very active in Thailand. Of course we should not take this one example of proof of anything....its just a bit of evidence to help us understand a bit more. It would be great to get some Thai input on this....

    Agree for that. :D:D

  7. For five years I been worked here, I felt Thailand is my second home. THai people are friendly and you can see their smile most of the time. As mentioned they are so willing to entertain and help foreigner. They are very hospitable and very kind. Almost the same feeling I had when Im home (my Country). if I have a good chance I may bring my Family to stay here as well. :o:D

  9. bloody women!  :o  I actually feel sorry for this bloke  :D

Me too! His life is in a total mess now. Let's hope he can find a way through his problems -- find a way to look after his kids and carry on working for a living.

For sure he may find his way back to normal life but of course, it takes little bit time. He is not the only one suffering such problem in here. someone are even worst than him. :D

  11. Mobile visa units to assist foreign workers

BANGKOK: -- The spectacle of foreign workers travelling vast distances across the country to renew their visas could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a deal signed today between the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and the Immigration Police Bureau which will see the establishment of mobile visa units.

IEAT Governor Uthai Juntima said that the units were designed to facilitate foreign workers and their employers, as well as to ensure that foreign workers receive their rights under the Thai labour protection laws.

Under the deal, employers will be able to take their skilled foreign workers, along with their spouses and children, to one of 10 visa units in local industrial estates, including Laem Chabang and Mabtaphut in the country's eastern region.

The first industrial estate to offer the service will be Amata Nakorn in the eastern Chonburi Province.

That was a very good news for us, It seems the Thai government doing their job well. MAGNIFICO! SUPERIOR! :o

  12. Custard , I pity your lady (if you have one).Theft ?

In Engalnd when muppets post rubbish like this its racism.

No I basically feel sorry for many Thai men unable to compete with farang blokes financially when it comes to Thai girls deciding who to marry. You must admit that girls naturally want to marry up, not down, so finances play a vital role in choosing their husbands more or less.

Guess you also don't like it when nonwhite blokes marry white English girls thats why you call mixed children half-castes. I live in a multicultural society and far from being racist I'm incredibly liberal believe it or not.

Many are also worried that the flow of farangs marrying Thai girls could swell into an unmanageable torrent if there are no controls.

Oh now come on thats not a farrang thing, not something we started we just happen to have money. Thai guy's do just fine. The majority of farrangs have the wifes that they abused as girlfriends. It's just life.

    yap ...that's a cool comments.. :o

  13. PM not support Thai labourers to work abroad

OMAN: --  Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said today that he does not support Thai labourers to work abroad, but his administration would, instead, promote the export of skilled Thai workers.

    ...................

In the Middle East it is not good for Thai domestics, nor Filipina / Indonesian or others. Subject to rape, abuse, so on. But as for limiting the export of workers to skilled tradesmen ...... I used to send back about one third of the people provided by the recruiting company, as being useless. We tried to set up our own recruiting company, but this was against Thai law.

The vast majority of Thais working abroad are unskilled / semi-skilled. These are bringing in valuable foreign currency, instead of watching rice grow.

What does this man think? That he can compete with Filipinos in mechanical trades? Never. Compete with Malaysians at IT work? Never.

The Thai worker has one thing going for him - you show him what you want - exactly - wind him up in the morning and he will work all day. But don't ask him to think. (Don't ask the Filipino to think either - you will be in deep trouble!!)

People sometimes almost loose their mine to degrade others but they never think their own handicap. yes it is true that most third wolrd country are not industrials yet unlike the western but not all of them are stupid as other think. This is a balance of nature theres should be a smart guys and the stupid ones to revolve the life in this world. The people of third world are the skilled worker around the world, if you don't accept those people handicap then, you better do the job by yourself and avoid hiring those people you think its not fit for the job. :D

All the leaders in this world are trying to induce such technic nor implements such rule for the benefits of their people, country and their future generation. :o
