"Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and Justice Minister Thavi Sodsong have remained tightlipped and sidestepped reporters’ questions about existing rules and regulations which may govern the future “detainment” of the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large." Convict at large .... no mincing of words here.

Illegal Bangkok Bar Raided, 100-Plus Drug Users Found

Very concerning drug adoption rate - more than 50% of patrons. Country has a huge problem by the look of it. -
Inside the vehicle, rescue teams discovered Mr. Curie L., a 60-year-old British national, ........ who was old enough to know better than drink and drive and was lucky enough not to have to have killed an innocent bystander with his irresponsible and selfish behaviour. Probably not the first he has done this ... but the first time he got caught. Hope he bears the cost of the damage and the insurance company does not pay.

Its complete rubbish. Commercial flights started in 1914 over 100 years ago ... airline safety standards and engineering standards are second to none .... and there is no data available on average weight distribution for individuals ... anywhere .. including national health services? Airlines are looking to gouge passengers yet again ... Ryanair even call it a "fat tax".

I just did a "pass it on" for a 4 year university course for a Thai student with very good GPA grades and no family money to attend University. The girl is smart and sensible but her future would have just ground to a halt because of lack of money for education. The deal is this ... I pay the university fees for 4 years and she then promises, when in the work force, to sponsor her kid brother if he gets the grades or another stranger in the same way that I have just done and that person must sponsor another. In this way, each recipient passes a gift of education onto the next ...... I hope. I can't help think that the funds for the THB 10k handout can be better used in someway as a scholarship for rural kids with good grades ....

Patong tuk-tuk drivers charged after assault on tourist
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Phuket/Patong Tuk Tuk drivers; Parking everywhere and stopping traffic flows, double parking, aggressively cutting up traffic, emergency breaking in flowing traffic, erratic driving, blasting deafening loud music in residential zones, overcharging, fighting. Did I miss anything? -
There is never any meaningful shift in real policy to make significant change to both encourage expats or their investments, home ownership or indeed quality tourism. Minor temporary tweaks in existing long in the tooth policies at best with little effect. There is no desire for real positive beneficial change towards foreign markets.
