  1. Hi guys,

I am coming to Bangkok to go to the hospital and hopefully take care of a stomach problem.

The problem is, I'll be staying in a hotel, and need to eat very bland food. I have been eating nothing but chicken, broccoli and green vegetables, and rice for weeks. If I eat this, I don't get terrible stomach pain.

I need to find a relatively inexpensive hotel with a kitchen in the unit or a restaurant near Nana BTS that has food of a similar bland nature.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

  2. In the US power cuts following wind storms are quite common because the power lines are above ground. Compare with Germany where all the lines are buried and power cuts are apparently unknown. This is what happens when a rich country decides to neglect its common commitment to infrasctructure of which the power lines are only one example among many.

The Germans...apparently....still good at burying things.

  3. A shot of the attacker pointing at the victim.

    An instant classic.

She hugs him and in his mind that's the invitation to the threesome. And Why wouldn't the boyfriend be up for it? He obviously has very little self respect to be going to Thailand of all paces with a common, lower class, fat, dyed, tattooed cow who goes around hugging random men in a country where the locals would never ever do such a thing.

Recommend that bloke enjoys the rest of this vacation hugging random Thai women at B1000 a pop.

  4. I ordered Pad Thai, standing in the afternoon sun whilst the street food vender made someone else's order. There was a crate with 50 or 60 fresh eggs on it. As I waited, I watched him cook, looking over the ingredients. In the middle of the crate, I saw a singular cracked egg. It was then that I knew that cracked egg had my name on it. He chose eggs in order for the other person he was cooking for. When it was time for him to prepare my lunch, he chose the cracked egg from the middle. I just walked away hungry, but not potentially, and more or less deliberately, food poisoned.

  5. I want to have a number of high quality, Egyptian-cotton or Oxford Cloth mens' business shirts made to be sold back home. Where would I start to find such shops?

Obviously just going through a tailor shop would involve a considerable middleman mark up that I wouldn't be interested in paying. If I go into different sewing shops, I could eventually find a shop that will produce high quality shirts. Also, where can I find high-quality Egyptian-cotton or Oxford Cloth fabric?

    Thanks, gents.

  6. There are no public toilets on Kaosan Road. It is a major meeting point and hanging out place for thousands of dirty tourists wearing parachute pants and braiding their hair because they think That makes them look like a SE Asian tourist. If there are no toilets, where do the Thai think...oh, right...thinking hard mak mak.

I guess you haven't been over to Kao Sarn for a while then. You will mostly see middle class couples and couples with kids who look very clean with their socks, shoes, iPhones and credit cards.

What an arrogant and moronic thing to say; 'dirty tourists wearing parachute pants and braiding their hair'. How would you describe the tourists on Silom or Sukumwit? dirty old men hovering around go-go bars looking for cheap sex with ladyboys?

So, you hang out on Kaosan road so often that you can recognize tourist patterns?

    Absurd. Make stuff up much?

  7. Troll Post !!! bah.gif

All major tourist destinations (throughout the world) have criminals who prey on tourists so why single out Pattaya?

I'm sure that all the other tourist resorts in Thailand have their own problems with tourist crimes, why not ask them why not single them out?

The Press, like most institutions in Thailand, is dysfunctional so you are never going to get a complete picture of what the actual crime rate is but I certainly feel far safer in Pattaya than in my home town.

But, like any city, you have to be 'street wise' and don't leave your brain at the airport,coffee1.gif

Nice try, agitprop. No other major tourist destination has this level of crime against tourists in the world. In addition, nowhere on the planet do the police give a care less about this major problem than in Thailand. The boys in the tight brown suits don't care if you love be or die. Farang are not Thai. Farang will keep coming. We are disposable to them.

  8. I started donating blood when I was 35 in the UK. After 2 donations I was banned from donating because I travelled too widely (on business and in the classiest hotels imaginable!). Once I stopped work I came to reside in Thailand at the age of 55.

    Oh well. nice try!

    Baloney !

You were not "banned" from donating blood in the UK because of 'travel'.

If that were so virtually every serving soldier, airman and sailor would be "banned" alongside many other people, like those who travel extensively as part of their employment as geologists, engineers etc.

It is amazing how far the Thailand apologist agitprops will go to spin even minor negative comments on Thailand.

  9. There was a Thaivisa member who got hit over the head with his own frying pan by burglars while he was typing away on his computer.

I know him well. But robberies happen in every country around the world. And he lived in a very remote area.

I've had a relative threaten me. Absolutely bizarre. Trying to save face when I asked him about a very small scratch in my car after he used it for a month while we were gone.

I've had more problems with foreigners....

How many ROBberies you know in Singapure or Switzerland, Monaco. HK its not country and Macao too but..

So I cant say robberies happen in every country around the world.

Perhaps you should spend a few minutes looking at this

    https://knoema.com/atlas/ranks/Robbery?baseRegion=CH

Switzerland ranked 27th at 67 per 100,000 population

    Singapore a very good 70th at 4.69

    Macao at 53rd at 26.48

    HK at 67th at 6.94

Thailand does not appear to be listed, likely due to reporting issues.

So, yes robberies happen all over the world.

    TH

Yes, they do. But the difference is that WE ARE BEING TARGETED.

  10. I was attacked at nana plaza by a worker that I had never seen and who attacked me before I even saw him. Police came and took him to the police station. I had to take a taxi there. It was the World Cup. As the police did the interview with us, they periodically stopped to watch replays of goals on the TV. They wouldn't charge the attacker even though it was unprovoked and I was still bleeding. They yelled at me when I insisted that I wanted to press charges. Then they called a French bar owner who speaks Thai and English to convince me to forget about it and go away.

So, when I read stories about Thais stabbing farang and getting B500 fines, I am notably sympathetic.
