London street will be full of Romanians in blue track suit bottoms sitting outside Costa Coffee plotting credit card fraud, discarded beer cans and whiskey bottles thrown on the floor by Eastern European builders coming home from work, a variety of fast foods thrown on the pavement and mashed into a runny pulp, maybe a few rats scurrying along, 24hr supermarkets with fruit and veg stacked up outside, Polish and Romanian supermarkets, mobile phone repair shops with potential tierrorrosts hanging outside, shadow of large mosques overlooking most towns ..... if you see an English person .... let me know.
Now. Now mother. Settle down or we will send you back.

difficult to imagine some TV'ers promoting, terrorist/criminal activity.
saying victims of bloodshed and mayhem, bullet wounds etc have no rights, but the criminals and terrorists do.
one of you even suggested i needed a good flogging. ha, ha, ez to sit in your mom's basement and play the tough guy, or are u in your room, keyboard warrior, flog anyone with a differing, perhaps more humane out look on life.
there are a lot of sicko's here. hard for me to imagine so called civilized people condoning terrorism, and claiming victims have no rights.
you should not only be ashamed of yourselves, but give your head a shake.
the next bomb maybe in your bus,
this bombing campaign by the (reds) alleged perps was estimated by their own admissions to be over 100 bombs.
thank Budda, at least 20 have been incarcerated already. they have no rights.
they will face a court of law. they should be executed if found guilty, but will not be. simply prison time, too bad.
the world does not need more people intent on bombing and terrorism in my opinion.
but of course, their rights, trump mine, because i believe in peace and freedom, unlike the opinions of many negative posters here
You say 'if found guilty'? But that is the nub of the argument isn't it. If found guilty? In any civilised country the accused is innocent until found guilty. If we use your argument there is no need for the judicial system. Mad Max rules?

I knew a chap who broke his leg while riding a motorcycle and his doctor told him swimming was good therapy and would help him heal. He was run over by a speedboat while swimming tearing a hole through his rib cage and puncturing his lung. While he was telling me this story, he fetched a beer from a rocky outcrop near the surf and broke his arm.
I wouldn't stand too near him!!

Today, I have read, that in the UK the Supreme court has overturned an order by Parliament, banning letters written by Prince Charles being published' Experts' have said that Parliament cannot have power over the courts and British Law. Slightly off topic I suppose, but something that does not seem to apply in Thailand?

Anyone else see the irony of opening up the program on this date?
No
Yes, but you can only pull this stunt before midday. 'Pinch, punch, first day of the month, and no returns.' April fool!

At the moment, about as much use as a one legged man in arse kicking contest. The Immigration site makes no mention of this and the link for 90 days says only IE can use it.

Well if justice is equal, the longtail driver should be paying the medical bills. Somehow I very much doubt that will happen.
That would be too easy.
The driver also has to be named and shamed in all German newspapers and he has to apologise for it. Why did he not help the swimmer by the way?
He has to pay the medicall bills and also a totally new holiday for this quality tourist. Maybe even an emergency flight back home to Germany.
I hope the swimmer is fine and let his insurance-lawyers take care of the cost. What a shame! Do thai longtailboat captains have any license by the way? Or a course how to give first aid?
This is gonna cost Thailand many quality tourists.
What country do you think you are living in?

The real question here is, do suspects ready to injure/kill innocent people by throwing grenades at them, deserve to have their human rights observed? You/your family could have got killed/injured by those "freedom-fighters".
SUSPECTS,! ACCUSED! Not yet proven guilty. How many innocents have been tortured to confess to a crime they did not commit. Scapegoats are needed.

I have issues with the AP article regarding one blank cartridge in one rifle as my understanding is that there is blanks in all the rifles except one which has the live round and it is a wicked load that does massive damage to the chest cavity thereby ensuring death. Quote: The shooters' identities are kept anonymous, and one of their rifles is loaded with a blank round so nobody knows which officer killed the inmate."" It should read no one knows who had the live round and distroyed the chest cavity.
Maybe the metal state of the shooters masks the fact, but I don't think a blank will generate the same (or any) recoil as a live round. The shooter at least could know (if he's paying attention) that his was the blank, and all others that theirs wasn't.
Obviously a gun owner or expert

The Death Penalty never works. More you execute more you promote homicides. Compare the States of US and their bill.
Texas is at the top for killing even proven innocents.. *Thaksin made his PHd in extrajuridicial killing where?
The death penalty works perfectly. Nobody executed ever commits a crime again.
And executed innocent people never get the chance to prove it!! How many incarcerated condemned to death in the US have been found to be innocent? No doubt about it, some countries love to shoot from the hip, and lip.

That is one beautiful King Cobra.

Could he be arrested in Singapore? Does Thai law enforcement have any authority in another country? Or was the inference on kidnapping?

Surely a headshot is better? I've shot a wild pig that ran off for a couple of hundred metres before collapsing and it turned out the shot went straight through the heart. Same thing with deer. All headshots have been immediate collapse.
Same as Police, shoot for the centre of bodymass, less chance of missing.....but I agree with you head shots are normally very destructive and normally lead to death very quickly, especially with a hollow point.
They should sell tickets to the shooting, people could pay to be a shooter or pay to watch.....funds raised 100% to the victims or their families.
Good ole American values! There are some sick people out there.

I will shortly be renewing my Retirement Visa. Have there been any rule changes since this time last year?

I have used rainwater for the last 28 years and only put a filter on it when my old Mum came over to live here. Never had a problem and the water tastes good. Bottled water tastes mouldy and sometimes of chemicals. I knew a police sergeant in Ta Mai who ran a bottled water business and was filling the bottles with tap water. Today, people are so gullible and go along with what they see on television.

I know this should not be on this topic, although I find it more exciting now, plus the fact I don't know how to start a new topic. Where on television will the Supebike Championships in Buriram be aired, if at all?

If you are currently staying in Thailand based on your job, the last day of employment is the day you have to leave the country. If you want you can apply for a 60 day extension of stay when cancelling your permission to stay.
You can apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on your Thai wife and childen, but must show an income of 40,000 a month (can be from abroad) OR show 400,000 baht in aThai bankaccount in your name only.
If you don't meet thse criteria, you can visit the Thai consulate in Savanahet (Laos) and apply for a multiple non-O visa there, giving you 90 day entries.
But shouldn't the Bt.400,000 have been in his account 90 days before applying for a visa?

I just about ran into a pickup today. I was driving down a country road, no houses in this section, no side roads, nice and straight, great visibility, narrow shoulders, but usable. I came upon a pickup going very slow and started to slow down, then it stopped right in the middle of the road for no apparent reason at all, didn't bother to pull over to the side just stopped where he was. Fortunately, I had already started to slow down, and the road was straight and no one was coming from the opposite direction, so I was able to pass him, but why would he stop in the middle of the road for no apparent reason?
Pissed and fell asleep.
