So your reporting was succesful? Normally the 15 to 7 day prior window would have rejected your submission if done on the 6th (6 days prior to due date.) If so that means that window is no longer in measure. In no info regarding that update. Oh lala

Just checked IO site and my application was approved in under 24 hours. See Ubonjoe's earlier despatch above 5022 which has a working link to the relevant sight. Good luck.

    Hi Hugh,

    Just to make sure.

1 - Were you able to send the notification in the last week before 90-days due date?

Note: Previously you could only do this in the 15-day to 7-day window before 90-days due date.

2 - Did you make use of the IO website or the App to do so?

I sent it in on the 6th April and the 90 day report was needed by the 12th April (or 19th if you count the 7 day grace period. I used the IO site and got there from a link provided by a member earlier in this thread. Good luck. ( Why dont IMM. just do a blanket 90 day report for all those who need to. After all they already know where you live and what visa you hold?)

    I am sure they do.

    Not everyone advises them.

They play the system and cheat it as the frozen pension situation is unfair especially to those who have paid in to the system for over 30 years through PAYE and then get the proverbial kick in the teeth for moving to a country that does not have a reciprocal pensions agreement with the UK. The Philippines is one such country that does have one but then who wants to live there! The annual increase is based on the annual price Index, c.3-4 % so hardly a prince's ransom!

Look at the numbers, total cases per 1 million population as of March 11, 2020 (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/) :

    Italy: 167

    S.Korea: 151

    Switzerland: 58.7

    Denmark: 58.7

    China: 56.1

    Spain: 36.3

    Sweden: 35.2

    Singapore: 28.4

    France: 27.3

    Germany: 18.7

    HongKong: 16.1

    UK: 5.6

    Australia: 5.0

    Japan: 4.6

It's already getting a lot safer to stay in Japan than other countries.

Where is Burma/Myanmar on the list of positive cases?

A non-o visa can be issued for marriage to a Thai or retirement.

During the last 30 days of the 90 day entry you can apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage or retirement.

A extension of stay based upon marriage requires 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

A extension based upon retirement requires 800k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months to apply and then for 3 months after the application and then 400k baht for the rest of the year. Or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

The extension based upon marriage requires some more paperwork and a 30 day wait after the application is accepted before you get the one year extension stamp.

I am on my 12th extension based upon marriage and can say they are not that difficult to do.

You can do either one yourself without a problem.

Do you have a link as to what documentation is now needed for an extension of stay based on marriage (for a Non I "O" visa holder)  ? when I asked TV's search engine it could not help.

    Thank you.

The new rules are not for extensions of stay.

Only if a person applies for a OA long stay visa at a embassy or consulate in their home country is the insurance required.

You certainly have nothing to worry about at this time.

Good to get this clarification as a worrying development particularly for those Non I O holders who would be unable to obtain cover for one reason or another.

As a resident of over 10 years I have always been asked on entering a hospital for treatment : How will you  pay? and not be treated without an up front deposit.

Was not asked for medical certificate, that was on Monday. So you don't need one for all licences, didn't have one, wasn't told to go and get one either.

You heard them tell someone to go and get one?

Sent from my SM-G920F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I went last week and renewed my 2 licenses and a medical certificate was not required. Maybe this is a requirement for new applications or those over 70?

Imm offices have come under some pressure to keep tabs on/know where the foreigners in their area of responsibility live.

Home visits have been the norm for extensions based on marriage for a while. Not as common for retirement but does happen, especially for initial extension.

Don't worry about it.  They just need to have documentation to show that they did their due diligence.

Home visits have NOT been the norm in my experience. Only after the 1st application have the Chiang Mai team visited me at home. The next 8 renewal applications have not warranted a home visit. There would seem to be no clear cut rules here.
