  1. I'm surprised you're not getting the answers yet but that they will.

800,000 baht deposited in a bank account which you will have access to after a while I'm sure Ubon Joe knows the answer to that .I think you can get a 60-day visa from Vientiane Laos. I'm typing by talking it's working on my Samsung up on my mountain in Hawaii .. good signal.. aloha

  2. About the batteries :

    http://www.roadtrek.com/news-events/roadtrek-revolutionizes-rv-travel-with-launch-of-ecotrek-power-technology/

This 129K $ motorhome, sports this handy charging system, to be stored by

Li -On batteries ..so I'm thinking of a way to make something similar to Mr. Musk's system .. if we can part this out, for a lot less money. Lets try and figure this out, shall we.

How many batteries weighing how much..?

    more later..

    I'll check the LifePo4's..Aloha

  3. Yep. Pretty common. I have met very few Thai people that think long term. A fresh influx of cash is a huge temptation, especially after years and years of just getting by. I wouldn't mind if they spend it, trying to judge it so the money runs out on the day they die. That method is their choice. But they aren't thinking like that. In fact, they aren't thinking at all. And the relative and friend pariahs that now encircle are the most disgusting. Worse is the mentality that if she doesn't share or give out her "new" wealth, she is stigmatized as Thai society especially expects her to dole out and she will bow to the pressure, never mind the big wig rich feeling ego she might now have. Someone needs to write a letter and in a few sentences warn her about the future, keep a copy for the future and of course speak to her. Then every year remind her how you won't be taking her in when she goes bust.

People flocking to her, finally, a way to finance those long held dreams/ideas..

Poor people do come up with some good ideas that they've observed, but can't execute.

  4. Solar panels are getting to $1 per watt and under. PV.

US made guaranteed panels. China, even cheaper. The Road Trek Eco Tek RV guys have the Li-Ion battery system like the Tesla guy, for about $3000 with hundreds of amp hours available.

I live offgrid with just a generator, so I'm looking into these battery systems, so stay tuned..

    More later..

    Alohz

  5. Thanks..I thought the bushes sounded goid for cooling. Hang some plastic or tarps for a few years until the plants grow. Gotta be right sized plants..we have potacarpas that grow too tall to shade dat window.

Hawaii is same latitude as LoS, so online there must be plenty stuff about landscape shading.

    Nice stand alone pool, Naam

  6. You can transfer $50K out to USA without any issue

If you use Kasikorn bank they have them in USA so should be no problem

Where did you come up with that fiction ? Unlike Bangkok Bank Kasikorn only has a "representative" office in LA

    Los Angeles Representative Office

601 South Figueroa Street, Suite 3875, Los Angeles, California 90017, U.S.A.

    E-mail: [email protected]

    SWIFT: KASI US 6L

A representative office is an office established by a company to conduct marketing and other non-transactional operations, generally in a foreign country where a branch office or subsidiary is not warranted. Representative offices are generally easier to establish than a branch or subsidiary, as they are not used for actual "business" (e.g. sales) and therefore there is less incentive for them to be regulated.

    Thanks God, for that answer!

Bangkok Bank is in New York, NY.

    Right?

    Alohz

  7. If you pay over 300k, you are being ripped off.

Thank you inzman, that's exactly the sort of figure I had in mind and I'd hope to have a house like this built for approx that figure.

Maybe 5 years ago yes but not now! You will need about 1 million baht for a reasonable job done on a two storey house like this. 1.5 million if you want water tank, pump, Proper bathroom fittings, kitchen, Safe electrics with an earth and milliamp trip.

For 300,000 Baht you can get a big shed on stilts but I would recommend a hotel instead. Clean and full facilities, Aircon, laundry the lot for 300 Baht a night if you stay monthly. Why build?

Boy, did you get ripped off if you paid prices like that.

    Maybe not!!!

  8. Many pages to read, but a command in Texas has an interesting postal method for us, but he could FedEx or DHL ship it to You in LoS..I called

    Tom at American gold exchange..AGE.Com

They are in Austin TX, but their commission is so low, they don't take credit cards. Gotta get the cash or money orders to them.

Beautiful web site..I bought the Indian Head 1/2 ounce numismatic coins..made a ton! (Cause it's so pretty)

    Aloha
