  1. My friend worked at Boeing he said forget the air conditioner don't take any energy off the air conditioner in my opinion the Mitsubishi with the HEPA filter is all you need.

This is inspiring, electronic motorcycle @300 kph

    Inspiring, I say..

  2. Gentlemen. if I had my time all over again I'd take a year to find this kind of location to live a life of living Off grid not just with solar but this also:-

A side of a mountain facing the sun.(North here in Oz) Has a spring near the top?? with "just enough flow" but perpetual. I would excavate and bury a large shipping container or three. Well covered in bitumen against rust. All the right holes for doors, windows, drainage and vents.etc.

If because of the terrain, the road access, the front apron, the view, wind generator, solar panel exposure, the general view etc meant it was not too near the hydro box at the lower end of the water turbine, so be it.

The house water could be pumped up hill with a ram pump, the power wires made long enough and a pull wire or turn rod say 50 plus metres long could shut down the turbine/s to save bearings. Temperature stability year round not like temperature challenges that George seems desperately facing at the moment. (Thailand has just had the worst in 60 ?? years) here in Oz there would be no winter temperature challenges either. Low bush fire risk, no painting. Provided windows faced/placed to suit a view, you wouldn't know it was underground. Any condensation issues could be faced as needed.

Any short fall of some of the ideal needs list above could be accepted, got around or tolerated. Some minimal water storage could be contemplated like some battery storage too. 240V ac power could be possible from a governed AC hydro generator or inverter

I can't load the bandwidth, but YouTube has 'pre fab hobbit house' video.

This thread is great for curated energy video stuff.

    Stirling engine' etc.

    Aloha

  3. Led's..I wanted to sell them, but they WERE expensive.. hot water idea!

I am the small cabin, big hill behind me, at latitudes

    20..

I would pay for some gas to pump water to make electricity because electricity is more useful than gas haha

My 'cousin' started the hot water Solar co. over here, but I have zero efficiency, so I will buy some new Li On batteries, and find a way to charge them.

someone may buy part of my land, so I can buy a solar panel or two.

    Thanks for the ideas..

    blessings. .

  4. Thanks to the likes of the George's...

...thousands of fraudsters are laughing every evening when they count the dosh clawed out of the pockets of naïve believers.
Thats why the youtube vid are so interesting to see how someone tries to make a more efficient diy product to generate electricity. The idea is the same. Where water flows you can generate electricity. In the last youtube example that gentleman showed us the two in one idea. He can spray his garden with the water he uses to generate electricity :)

A nabor borrowed my tiny pump for his concrete fishpond. 24 hours that pump was running. He already bought a new submersible ac 120w pump. Periodically he refreshes the water. With all that he can try to get some power back or not?? Like a grid tied solar system but in this case with hydro generator(s). :)

And the idea of above commercial product i find it fantastic especially for those who are connected to a central water supply. Open a crane in your house and generate also electricity.

    Added a joke:

If one denies that the idea is great that one must be living in a protected area in pattaya where its perhaps also forbidden to use hydro generators hahahahahah especially when they also have swimming pool. What a lot of water flowing around....wow.....

My friend 《says》 he can pump water uphill, then run it down through a vortex creating power on downhill run..hopefully more than it takes to pump uphill again..

Maybe he can grow some Tilapia besides..

(Pardon my humor, I'm trying to keep up with YouAll)

  5. C'mon Naam, tell George that sprinkling his roof is the best thing the physics world has invented so he will quit.

Tryin to read all these, I need some solar panels..to charge phone..

I have a metal roof, with 2×6 toungue and groove..they put two layers of medium weight tar paper between wood and metal.

Then if I lived in a (lower) warmer area, celing fans seem to be the state-of-the-art. I've been checking the restaurants in Kailua Kona and ceiling fans are the s...

You Men of course would use solar panels to power them.

Also, powering solar water heating is only 20% effective ,using photovoltaics, compared to water panels,

water sandwich of course for heating.

    20% compared to what?

    Aloha, Gentlemen

  6. a comment on dehumidification.

whether air in a room is dehumidified by any gadget does not depend only on the temperature of the cooling media but on the room's dew point. in other words it the media (e.g. water) has a temperature of 15ºC and the room's dew point is higher than dehumidification is achieved but of course depending on the existing delta t and that applies also to the cooling effect.

Condensation occurs in the gadget, right? Unless the room extremely low humidity, wouldn't the gadget condense (dehumidify) regardless of room dew point?

correct, but i wanted to draw the attention to the fact that dehumidification can vary a lot based on several variables.

the same applies to the cooling capacity of a "real" aircon which can vary ±35% (and more) under different indoor/ outdoor temperatures and different relative humidity levels.

that's why published SEER and EER levels as well as rated cooling/heating capacities are completely worthless without mentioning precisely the conditions on which they are based on.

    So what are the alternatives..???

    none.

    accidental quote..I wanted to like!

I'm at the same latitude in Hawaii, but I saw this on the coastline in a friend's store..

It was a small free standing air conditioning unit with a fat hose running outside underneath some outside clothing racks. To exhaust the hot, humid air. Now because of You Guys, I think that the dehumidification, is the natural result of cooling.. I think.

That was also a fan to blow at the clerk, right above the unit.

Pic will follow as soon as I go down the mountain to Kona town.

This is what I do for fun..

  7. I can't read them all..!! ironically my cousin started the solar business in Hawaii with the hot water devices. the solar heart thermal siphon system was ok..then came the brass (wet) system which had the tank down stairs which required a solar panel up on the roof to move the water.. they have a steam vent when it gets too hot.

Aircon: I saw Mitsubishi units all over Asia..dehumidifier, hepa (micron) filter.. remote control!!!

This thread gets you a degree ..

  8. A regular aircon takes warm air from the room, cools it, then returns it to the room. No sucking out of anything.

Right! I've been in many areas in Hawaii with small window units, which are pretty warm when run as a fan only..then as I turn down the temp / thermostat make that click and then shudder ..

We, our hosts and us, had two Mitsubishi in the bedrooms,

and I think they were very efficient.

I just thought of walking past apartments, and getting warm air blown on legs from window units. .

    Fond memories. ..

  9. Aloha! I still like the vented Mitsubishi aircon that we had in C.Mai..We had it on highest temp setting for a rather small room. Ceiling fans work pretty well for livable space.. when too hot get a cool shower to cool body temp... do some cooking, then back to to cool room..

Actually, the fans in the living room were ok MOST of the time. .

  10. Because your dogs are dirty and barking you want to get rid of them?!!!

If they are outside dogs it does not matter if they are dirty.

If they are barking find out what that are barking for and change it. Dogs that bark all the time are unhappy with something.. maybe because you have them penned up 24/7?

In the states you have shelters that are full of dog and most of destroyed... this is because there are so many people like you who just get bored with the dogs and treat them like throw away items.. not living things.

How hard is it really to take care of 2 outdoor dogs? Just give them food, water and space to run about.

This kind of thing.. and the advise about dumping them at a temple make me mad.

If you really can't be bothered with them you should wash them.. take a few photos and advertise them around your area.. in the shops, on Facebook and on Thai Vias as needing a new home.

Nice pic of praying mantis and dog just flashed by.

    It's not filth, it's dirt.

Streets have oil also. That no good..

I live in a forest with a bunch of cats whom I feed, but can't pamper,

they like to walk on me though.

I hugged a couple of dogs at the police station 'shelter', a few concrete short pipeline peices to protect from Sun.

Just pay their attention when they bark, or give them to da monks.

    Unless they ugly dogs.. dunno..

I like da temple dogs. ..

    Alohz
