  1. If the market has already adjusted on the assumption that Biden will win, then if Trump wins we will probably see a big bump. But as mentioned earlier, the trillions of dollars we have spent on bail outs it’s got to have an impact on the economy. But frequently the economy looks at future trends and doesn’t look in the past. If a vaccine is developed, and no terrible side effects from it, and tourism returns, then we should see growth again

  2. Did he put in his reservation for free vaccine? If no cost and therefore commitment then no special about reserving free vaccine.

Will people already diagnose with the virus need the vaccine. I can’t imagine a vaccine offering better immunity than actually recovering from the virus. Maybe neither provide long-term immunity. Next station

I am hoping the Chinese government will force vaccinate large portions of their population. I’m sure thailand government will then follow up with the same policies as Communist China government.

  3. In anticipating the outcome of the presidential elections, are people generally pulling out of the market for safety or putting money into the market in hopes that the stock market will go up after the election for you.

I am pulling my money out in a anticipation of the election results. I’m expecting at least a 10 to 15% drop in the months following the election.

  4. With international borders locked down in most countries for several months, how does the pandemic in America affect any other country in the last several months?

Most countries have isolated themselves from the rest of the world. Their containment of the virus is solely dependent on them and not affected by the containment of the virus in America.

But it is normal that everyone blames America for all the worlds problems. Start taking responsibility for your own countries and not blame other people.

  5. Does the CEO of a company typically do all the work or does he designate competent people to work on it and monitor it and direct it? But, there’s a CEO take credit for the accomplishments of his employees?

If Fauci is talking about frequent meetings with the White House advisors, do his advisors summarize and advise the President?

President Trump does not have the expertise on medical knowledge to deal with the virus. It is his job to have people who are knowledgeable working on it and monitor status.
I don’t believe the CEO of a company that a develops great great products did all the work himself, nor that President Trump is responsible for all the work done on developing a vaccine.
I highly doubt people believe President Trump is actively in the lab working on the vaccine. But maybe those are the same people that think it is a serious comment about drinking bleach

  6. Generally, I would think conversation involves speaking and listening. But that does depend on the two people involved.

Students can probably find private lessons for 400 - 500 per hour. But possibly you can convince them to pay the same for group lessons

You seem knowledgeable about rates in Bangkok and countryside. So why are you asking about rates for an undefined objective private tutoring job?

If you were getting over 1000 baht per hour in a previous teaching jobs, then reasonable to expect to get something similar for private tuition

Previously I was making comments about that other person talking about getting advice for illegal activities

  7. There are numerous threads here about how much to pay an agent to get a volunteer visa without volunteering. Obviously the agent bribing government officials would be required.

But the question about a reasonable rate for teaching would require a lot information that has not been provided.

The rates in Bangkok would be higher than the rates in the countryside. The rates for conversational English would be less than the rates for test preparation.
The qualifications for a teacher preparing students for international exams (IELTS TODEL) would be extensive knowledge and practice in exams and their scoring.

Someone with no experience teaching English before as compared to someone with many years experience teaching English would also change the rates.

someone with no experience teaching English before as compared to someone with many years experience teaching English would also change the rates.

But if you have a good sales pitch and can convince parents to give you money, then the rate depends on your ability to sell yourself

  8. I think the standard ESL qualification in Thailand takes less than a month and does not require a university degree.

The qualifications I would use for hiring a teacher would be years of experience teaching the subject and level of specialty.

For a native English speaker to teach conversational English with no experience (ESL qualification irrelevant), you could probably get 400 baht per hour

Based on your question, I assume you have no experience teaching. You might offer your services to a tutoring center at many of the shopping malls to gain experience

  9. They have daily reports about number of people with Covid detected upon coming to Thailand. There are occasional reports of someone testing positive to Covid after the one week check. They probably got it coming over on the plane. But I have never seen any report of someone who tested negative on arrival, negative after one week, but then positive the day before their scheduled departure.

i’ve also heard that from mild cases, the general recovery time is less than two weeks.

It may take up to two weeks for symptoms to develop, but a test should be able to detect it a lot quicker

  10. They do not always make decisions in the best interest of the children/country.

I know someone that was an excellent high school physics teacher with PhD for 6 years on waivers at the same school. He was not allowed to continue teaching without returning to school and getting a degree in teaching and a permanent teaching license. He was replaced by a teacher with no experience teaching, but on theIr first waiver. Needless to say, the students suffered.

This is part of their method to try get fully licensed teachers in the classroom.

  11. If they have no medical problems, can they continue to stay in quarantine for the two weeks?

Agree, asymptomatic people can spread the disease. Hence quarantine. But quarantine at the hospital with extremely high costs as compared to quarantine in the hotel room seems efficient.
But since Thailand required them to have high medical insurance, they probably figured send them straight to the hospital and collect the fees. This is one way to get money from lack of tourism

  12. Is a waiver another term for temporary teaching license?
My understanding is the Thailand teachers Council issues waivers (Maximum 2 years validity) to temporarily  allow teachers to teach without a teaching license.
While on a waiver, the teacher is expected to pursue further education to get fully qualified and get a permanent teaching license

Is the Thailand Teaching Counsel refusing to issue a temporary waiver to allow a person without teaching credentials  to teach if the person is outside the country?

I believe that upon getting the waiver (temporary teaching license), the school can then apply for a work permit

  13. I think the Thai government has the same idea as Democrats in America. Create policies that might help someone but cost them nothing.
But what they need to do is to create policies bring jobs back to Thailand and provide policies that encourage companies to grow snd provide mire jobs. Make efforts to increase exports and decrease imports from other countries(china). But these policies might make someone unpopular as a leader, but will strengthen the economy of the country

  14. In addition to the government suggesting employers pay employees for an additional holiday, the government should suggest that employers also give every employee an extra 5000 baht to spend on this extra day of lost productivity to the company. If shortly after that the company closes the business, then the employees will have lots of free time for traveling.

The government seems to be full of ideas that cost them nothing. Although the government would also have to give the holiday to their employees, but they probably already have 3  people to do a job that 1 person could do.
